Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Promising Author Review: I was very excited with the prospect of finally reading something by a young author, and read the book all in one night. I could not put it down, and think that the author has a wonderfully broad horizon. I'm not the fantasy/adventure type, but I enjoyed this book all the same. A couple of things bothered me though: the text contradicted itself more than once, to say the least. There were a number of beautiful symbols woven into the story (tiger, black rose, identity, etc), but I was dissapointed that they did not always follow through. I also feel that endings and beginnings are important, and though the prologue drew me into the action and kept me turning pages, the ending was badly done. It didn't sum up what had happened throughout the book at all though it was an obvious attempt to, and the author again contradicted herself within the last word. I did enjoy this book very much though I await later books by Miss Atwater-Rhodes after her talent has further matured.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Deserves more stars then 5! Review: In the Forests of the Night by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, is an Extrodinary peice of fantasy! this is coming from a very critical fantasy reader. I had to read this book in one sitting, it was VERY GOOD. Its basically about a teenage girl vampire, and its cool, cause the girl, Risika, clears up some vampire misunderstandings. Very Very good ideoligies coming from this 14 year olds mouth and spilling onto these pages! I like the way Racheal and Risika think, they kinda remind me of my self at times. This book actually helped me feel better about overcoming one of my enimies at school, because Risika has to conquer her enemy, who is also a vampire namned Aubrey. i felt some hidden meanings in this book that i understood, but every one takes what they read in a diffrent way, its called opinions. all i can say is GO AMELIA! keep writing. for being so young, she has the brightest future ahead of her. she has also encouraged me to write more than usual. very cool.

Review: When I first picked this book up and I began to read it, I was on chapter 8 before I even bought it. I couldn't put it down until I was done. I thought it was well writen for someone who's the same age as I am.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A decent first effort Review: I awaited this book with anticipation since first hearing of it some months ago. I thought - so young and getting good reviews, this will be worth reading. I am not saying this book was NOT worth reading, but I didn't feel it was a spectacular as has been said. I have read many books in the genre, and several along these lines. Ms. Atwater-Rhodes will no doubt improve with age and maturity. And with any luck her stories will become a bit more original and fleshed out. Although I was a bit disappointed, I will read her next book and hope for better. You should read this one to judge for yourself. For a spectacular vampire YA book, I would suggest Christopher Pike's Last Vampire series, or Vivian Vande Velde's Companions of the Night, and Annette Curtis Klause's The Silver Kiss.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An amazing debut book Review: I thought that this was a truly amazing book written by an amazing author. You are really drawn into the book and the plot takes so many twists that it is impossible to predict the ending, lets just say that it really moved me.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: 13 yrs. old and a damn fine storyteller, might I add Review: Now I haven't read many vampire novels in my life. Not thatthe topic never interested me, it's just that I've been preoccupiedwith other books. As someone who intends to write in the future, the knowledge that the girl who had her own book published at the age of thirteen intrigued me. So I paid my eight bucks and began reading. For its young adult genre, I'm positive that it will find many fans. The prose is simple and very eloquent for a thirteen year old (now fourteen) and the story itself is nicely structured. I don't know what the critics said, but frankly, it doesn't mean jack to me. This itself, though not original, serves more as an inspiration to young readers and aspiring writers. Before you start mouthing off about its unoriginality, just remember that she's only thirteen and has a book published... that's a real accomplishment no matter what. Anyway, the story's about a vampire named Risika, who in the course of the novel, contemplates her origin while dealing with the troubles of her present. She is being stalked and taunted by an old nemesis, another vampire she believes is stronger than her, named Aubrey. He has killed her brother and is doing his best to make her life hell. Well, I won't give away too much. Once again, it's a fine achievement. Young readers will definitely enjoy it.

Review: Hello, My name is Patrice French and I read your book called "In The Forest Of The Nights. Personally, I think the book was very adventerous and stimulating. I also think it was a very intruging book. When I heard a 13 year old girl wrote a book, it aspired me. I read this book in my 7th grade reading class. The only problem I think the book had was the ending. I think you could have down something else more adventerous. Other than that I loved it. I think you have a talent to write and I think you should write more books. Sicnerely, Patrice French (P.S. I adored the poemd called "The Tigers Eye").

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: stunning debut Review: this debut novel is a stunning addition to the vampire fiction genre. matters of the author's age (which is extraordinary) aside, this is a triumphant opening cry to a limiting and clichŽd genre. absolutely reccomended.
