Summary: WoW!
Review: I don't know why people don't give this book awesome reviews: I mean, sure it's not _perfect_, but what is? And you also have to take into account that the author was 14 when this was written. Come on, give her the credit she deserves! It's _MUCH_ better than the average 8th or 9th grade student writes!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Youung authors CAN SO be better!
Review: What do you mean, "for her young age"? Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is a GENIUS. I'm sure it is "deep for her age". How else would these books be so successful!

But for the review...this vampiric book is AWESOME, INGENIUS and MOVING. Atwater-Rhodes has created a cast of believable characters, a deep plot, and interesting vampire traits. This book opened up a new idea of vampires for me - they can be teenagers, they might not have wanted to become what they are. One of my favorite parts was when Risika "put" tiger stripes in her hair. It's little things like that that make this or any book so good!

I am aspiring to be an author myself, and this book was a BIG inspiration. She was only thirteen! (The author.) This proves that you can work hard and meet goals, however big they are (getting published). Go young authors everywhere! THIS BOOK ROCKED!

Summary: Good!
Review: I read the second book first and so I had really high expectaitons for this one and was a little dissapointed. Don't get me wrong, I loved this book but the second is better. But I totally recommend this book to anyone.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: not incredible, but something very much worth reading
Review: I read this book and loved it. Since then, I like to read more about romance though, and the second novel was a little more fufilling. If you are a horror fan, or a vampire fan, you will love this book. The author herself seems all dreary and weird from her picture and probably believes vampires exist. I hope she has more romance in her books and the characters aren't so cynical. Anyways, this book focuses a lot on the past, with flash backs, and Aubrey is the second main character. If you're looking for cheerful, stop now. If you're looking for dark and compelling, read it.

Summary: This is the coolest book!!
Review: This book is really great even by such a young author I think she did a really great job writing this book. The book is os good that it keep me up all night I had to see how it end.

Summary: Spectacular -- A Must-Read!
Review: Amelia Atwater-Rhodes weaves a compelling tale of mystery, fate, and supernatural powers! Risika, who was unwillingly tranformed into a vampire 300 years ago, must learn to stand up to Aubry, her powerful blood-brother and rival. In the process, she learns to except what she has become, and stumbles across the truth of her human brother's "death." In this thrilling story is a smooth blend of hate, love, life, death, and being able to respect yourself for who you are. You don't have to be a vampire-lover to enjoy this book -- read it today!

Summary: Good, but....
Review: "In the Forests of the Night" is a pretty good attempt for an author of such a young age, but I really thought the book could have been a LOT longer. When I reached the end of the book, I was a bit shocked that she would have picked such a sudden way to end the book, summing up the whole story in two pages. It was a good book, though, for someone her age.

Summary: AWESOME-couldn't put it down!
Review: My friend lent me this book becuase she thought I would like it. And boy was she right. I fell in love with the book from page one. Because I love Fantasy books this one was really good. Summary: IT is about a girl named Rachel who in the 1600's was turned into a vampire by Ather (her Vampire mother)and she at first doesnt like being one and fights it but then she gives in and starts to like it. She finds out the differeces between some of the myths of Vampirism. I read this book in about 2 hours and I have already gone out and got the next book-Demon in my view. So to sum it up: Go read it, you'll love it!!

Summary: SOAKED/CLOAKED IN EVIL
Review: This book of "undead" creatures, vampires and other monstrous characters is a book of cliches. The dividing line is clearly drawn; there is no question or doubt of who falls on which side of it. If this was a western, you know who'd be wearing the black or the white hats.

Although this is rather well written, it is disturbing, alarming and even unsettling that such a young person would have such dark fantasies. It is impressive that she broke into the field at such a young age, but one can't help but wonder how much of her is revisited in these ghastly characters.

In her other novel, "Demon in My View," her descriptions of protagonist Jessica seem to bear a resemblance to her own life and life's views. That is scary.

I admit that I didn't like this book, but I am impressed (and unsettled) by the young author.

Summary: Good, not great
Review: There are good and bad things about this book. If one were to dismiss the fact that the author was a teen and just review this book like any other without any 'special' exceptions, I think that it would come to four stars. Star number one is for style. It fits and it works. Star number two is for characters. Not cardboard- cut outs, but not exactly three dimensional either. Star number three is for action. It's not explosive, but not cheesy either. Finally, star number four is for plot. The plot may not be complex, but it's at least understandable. The missing fifth star was for the addition to vampire lore. Adding in the mind- power stuff almost made me forget that the characters were vampires... they are, aren't they? So once again, age is not part of my review. There are some forty- year old authors who write the same quality books as Amelia Atwater- Rhodes. I will keep on reading this author's books, but I will also keep in mind that there's better literature out there.
