Summary: Mates Dates, ans SOle Surivivors
Review: The book Mates Dates, and Sole Survivors by Cathy Hopkins, is about a girl named Lucy and her friends. Lucy feels left out of everything, everywhere she goes she sees people with boyfriends. That's all she wants, to fit in and she thinks if she gets a boyfriend like everyone she will fit in. She goes on what is suppose to be a relaxing weekend with her friend. There she meets someone she thinks is to good to be true!! Once she gets home and spends time with him, she feels smothered. He's running her life and she is loosing her friends. Then she thinks back and maybe she liked it better being single. The book takes place in London and the author is from London and the words she used were very interesting and different. Cathy Hopkins has a series of other books and hopes to make many more! I think this book is a great book for the ages ten to thirteen.

Summary: Not the worst book....
Review: This book was pretty much like the other 4: short, cheesy, predictable, cliched, etc. But, I have to admit it is cute in its own way and it did keep me turning the pages. All in all, the books are sweet, but probably better suited for pre-teens.

Summary: It's Lucy's Turn Again
Review: This fifth book of the series returns to Lucy's point of view. It is better than the first two in the series but may not be better than the third and fourth.

It is the holidays (six weeks with no school) and Lucy is all set to strengthen her relationship with Tony. But shortly after she finds herself as the only one in the group without a boyfriend.

A wish is made and Lucy may have found the absolute perfect boy. Or is he?

In the end the four friends prove their friendship and support of one another.

Pretty good pacing and better than Lucy's first narration. Lots of references to Bridget Jones. The t-shirts were cute but the slogans are decades old (at least in the US).

If you liked the other books in the series, you will be sure to enjoy this one.
