Rating: Summary: Voice On the Radio Review: I thought this book was well written and for the most part kept you excited. Although there where a few parts when the narrorator went rambling on about nothing really just repeting himself. The story was exciting and it would keep you interested for the most part. In my opinion this book is worth reading if you like reading enough to read.
Rating: Summary: Great exercise on ethics for a young mind Review: I picked this up at the library on a whim. It is nicely written, and i like the fact that conflicting emotions are well-explained. For example, how Janey and her sister Jody interact, the feelings that Jody has for Janey, how she loves her and hates her at the same time, how understanding Brian and Jody are of their mother's fears and weariness, and how at the same time are struggling with their own sense of independence, how Reeve feels torn between loyalty and his drive for success...All these topics are great fodder for a young mind. A good read, over all.
Rating: Summary: Page-Turning Book, You won't want to put it down!~ Review: Having read all of these in the series, I think that this one, out of all of them, has the most suspense and that you once again get put into the minds and lives of the people in the story. Once you start reading, you won't want to put it down till your at the end! I think it does help to read starting from the Face on the Milk Carton, and then the others that follow after it, before you read this one.. but either way, they do kinda tell you what has happened in the past in her life.. soo.. read this book! It's a great one that you will enjoy and not find at all boring! Enjoy reading and have a great day! Thanks for your time :)
Rating: Summary: Out of all 4 this is the MOST suspenseful! Review: Im a 13 year old who has read all 4 of the books for different book reports. I have to admit, this is the best selection of books i have ever gotten my hands on. Most people wont even listen to what i have to say becuase of my age but if u dont then u really dont know what your missing. Caroline B. Cooney is an amazing author. She writes so much in so little, if that makes any sense at all. I love all her books, yes ive read just about all of them, and i encourage you to do the same. The Face on the Milk Carton, The Voice on the Radio, Whatever Happened to Janie, and What Janie Found are the best 4 packof books i have ever read. i cant say that enough. Thank you for listening if you did. i appreciate it very much so!
Rating: Summary: The Voice on the Radio Review: This book was about a girl who was kidnapped when she was young. She didn't know about it until she was 15. She is now about 17 and her boyfriend is a freshman in college. He was on the radio and he had to tell a story so he decided it wouldn't hurt any to tell everyone in Boston about what happened to his girlfriend since they were so many hours away. I think this was a good book to read. I liked it because something like this could really happen to someone. It is a very interesting book to read.
Rating: Summary: the best book the world has ever seen Review: This is one extraordinary book. I stayed up all night reading it and when I was done, I couldn't get it off my mind. I love reading, and believe me, this is one amazing book. If you ever want something good to read, read the Janie series by Caroline B. Cooney.
Rating: Summary: READ IT READ IT! Review: In "The Voice on the Radio" Janie's boyfriend, Reeve, becomes a collegeman and works at the college's radio station. When he starts his first on-air segment with the classic words "Once upon a time. . ." no one thinks he can pull off a story. But Reeve, panicked, starts to tell something that he knows a lot about - his girlfriend, Janie, and her saga between two families. His radio installments become an instant success and are referred to as "janies" by fans.Meanwhile, Janie accompanies her older sister, Jody, along with younger brother Brian to look at colleges, including Reeve's. Janie knows that her boyfriend is doing a radio show, and decides to tune in. Little does she know what she's in for! Once you start this book, I assure you that you'll not be able to put it down (especially near the end). Mrs. Cooney did a wonderful job with advancing the character of Reeve into a main character instead of just a goofy boyfriend. All the "Face on the Milk Carton" books are worth reading, you'll love 'em, and WOW!
Rating: Summary: The best one yet! Review: In this book, the author actually makes Reeve into an interesting character. In the others, I really didn't like how he was so boring. Well, during the story, while in his freshman year at college, Reeve is working at the university radio station. He finds himself telling Janie's story on the air. It becomes so popular, that people call in every night to ask for a "janie". One day, Janie's older sister Jodie (looking at colleges) asks Janie and their younger brother Brian to come with her and look at the college that Reeve is currently attending. Janie knows that he is working at the station, and decides to tune in. The three of them hear Reeve telling the story. If you want to know the end, read this book. I couldn't put it down and was awake till 3 o'clock in the morning reading it. It was so good, when "What Janie Found" came in at the library, I reserved it immediately. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE BOOK YET!
Rating: Summary: This was a GREAT book Review: This page turning book was a wonderful conclusion to the book before it, _Whatever happened to Janie_, and a great drop off for the next book which I REAllY want to read called _What Janie Found_. I really enjoyed this book and the one before it, although I never read _The Face on the Milk Carton_, I saw the movie so I pretty much knew what was going on but I wish I had read the book because the sequels were so breath-taking and awesome that I never wanted to put them down! The book pulls you in so much that you can sometimes feel the emotions, tragedies, and feelings yourself. I recommend this book to all young adults and even adults! I LOVED these books. Can't wait to read the next one. Happy Reading! ~CB7~
Rating: Summary: fabulous-my favorite! Review: i really loved this book, in fact, i though that it was the best in the entire series, even though all of them were really great. through the face on the milk carton and whatever happened to janie, i always wanted janie to be able to love both her families, and i think this book began to resolve that. this book showed the characters so clearly, janie and her families still trying to recover from the kidnapping, but beginning to heal, and reeve, forgetting that everyone could hear his voice, and that he was telling things to the world that had been told to him in confidence. even though it was a horrible thing to do, caroline b. cooney still wrote it so that you could understand why he did it, the same way that she showed why janie was so horrible to her biological family. i now really want to read what janie found.
