Rating: Summary: Caroline has done it again! Review: Just when you thought the story couldn't possibly get more exciting, Caroline B. Cooney has done it again in The Voice On the Radio. I think we all know the story about Janie Johnson, who happens to be lactose intolorant, finding a picture of her on her best friends milk carton. We know that through confusion and lies, her growing romance wth the boy next door, Reeve Sheilds is the only thing she can count on. But, in The Voice On The Radio, something happens that none of us expected. In a search for popularity at a Boston college, Reeve heads for the campus radio station. He soon finds himself with many interested listeners, as every Tuesday and Thursday, he tells more and more of Janie's secret. Other reviews have ranked this book low, saying the plot was thin, or the book to short. Don't belive one word of it. This story left me on the edge of my seat. Caroline Cooney's writing left me breathless, I cried reading this book, just like I did reading Whatever Happened to Janie. I confess the ending didn't give you much to write home about, (which gives me high hopes for another sequal), this book is right up there with The Face On the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie. The latest, but hopfully not last book in the milk carton series, this is a must-read for all Janie fans.
Rating: Summary: betrayal Review: The voice on the radio is a betrayal sequel. Janie's boyfriend goes off to college and things heat up for him. No not that way he gets a little campus D.J job and its not working for him in the first couple of days. Its his first time on the air and.............nothing, he has nothing to say. Wait he's got a story. Reeve tells Janies milk carton story on the air, a little each night. Yeah you might say that its not a big deal but wait, Janie hates everyone knowing the story. When Reeve finds out that she feels that why he doesn't know if he should stop with the janies or not. knowing now hes popular everyone knows him just from the stories. He thinks that she won't ever hear him because hes in Boston and she is in Conneticut. Then one day Jodie askes Janie to go with her and Brain to Boston. oooooo... what will happen next? This is a great book on love and betrayal. Read it, Don't change your mind.
Rating: Summary: Turn off the radio, it's amateur hour Review: This is one of the worst books I've ever read. A boyfriend betrays his girlfriend and tells the story of her childhood kidnapping and her problems of now having two families. She finds out and gets upset. That's it. That's the whole story. Nothing else happens. There's no revenge, no blackmail, no tragic warning, the boy friend doesn't get his comeuppance, there's no crime ring smashed, no serial kidnapper trying to kill the boy. Nothing! There's not even a real ending. This is the worst book I've ever read. How did it get published? I suppose what this book does do is give inspiration to others that even if you can't write there is some company who will publish your work.
Rating: Summary: The Voice on the Radio Review: This companion to The Face on the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie, is as compelling as the first two. The story picks up when Janie is a sophomore in high school. The kidnapping saga is over and she is living with her adoptive parents. Janie is a typical 15 year old whose next-door neighbor boyfriend, Reeve Shields, has recently left for college. Reeve has gotten himself a disc jockey job at a college radio station and when he runs out of material he begins to tell Janie's kidnapping story. On his weekly radio show installments he betrays Janie's trust and reveals her confidences and innermost feelings. Reeve keeps the content of his radio show a secret from Janie and her family until Janie arrives for a surprise visit. His secret is out and Janie is devastated. A surprising outcome of this betrayal is Janie becomes closer to her biological family while dealing with her pain. This book is a well-written page-turner that can be read either before or after the companion books.
Rating: Summary: READ IT READ IT! Review: In "The Voice on the Radio" Janie's boyfriend, Reeve, becomes a collegeman and works at the college's radio station. When he starts his first on-air segment with the classic words "Once upon a time. . ." no one thinks he can pull off a story. But Reeve, panicked, starts to tell something that he knows a lot about - his girlfriend, Janie, and her saga between two families. His radio installments become an instant success and are referred to as "janies" by fans.Meanwhile, Janie accompanies her older sister, Jody, along with younger brother Brian to look at colleges, including Reeve's. Janie knows that her boyfriend is doing a radio show, and decides to tune in. Little does she know what she's in for! Once you start this book, I assure you that you'll not be able to put it down (especially near the end). Mrs. Cooney did a wonderful job with advancing the character of Reeve into a main character instead of just a goofy boyfriend. All the "Face on the Milk Carton" books are worth reading, you'll love 'em, and WOW!

It is romantic, but will keep you guessing, you'll never want to put it down. Janie Johnson's life was finally getting back to normal. After Janie foud out she had been kidnapped she thought the worl would end. Little did she know her boyfriend Reeve, (away at college), had been seling her story on the radio. If you want to find out what Janie does, you should read this book! It's a mystery, and a love story. Can true love survive what she has been through?
Rating: Summary: The Voice on the Radio Review: This book is a continued version of The Face on the Milk Carton and Whatever Happened to Janie? It takes place in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Boston. Janie misses her boyfriend Reeve terribly because he is at college in Boston. What Janie doesn't know is that Reeve is on the college radio station, telling Janie's past, which involves a great deal of sadness. Jodie, Janie's real sister, is looking for a place to go for college and decides to take a look at Boston. Since Janie misses Reeve so much, she decides to go along with Jodie, planning to meet with Reeve. Reeve continues telling the horrible past of Janie, who has no idea he's doing it. Finally Janie and Jodie arrive in Boston, hoping to find Reeve. When Janie hears the radio, she's about to bust. Will she ever be able to face Reeve again? I think this book was awesome, but it is hard to keep track of who and what everything is. I recommend this book for young adults.

Rating: Summary: "Voice on the Radio" book talk Review: I really liked this book, I thought it was really interesting and kind of dramatic. The book really caught me when Janie went to Boston to visit Reeve and heard his talk show(which she wasn't supposed to). I think that from that moment on it was hard to put down, because each new page had a whole new adventure on it. The end of the book also made me want to read the fourth book so I could find out what happens to Janie and Reeve's relationship and what happens to Hannah.I think this is the best book out of the first three. If you like drama then this is a great book to read.
