Summary: Simply amazing....
Review: While selling jewelry with her aunt in the harem, Marjan, a 13-year-old crippled girl, demonstrates her storytelling ability to a small crowd which include Dynyazad, the sister of the queen Shahrazad. Shahrazad is married to the Sultan. For years the Sultan married in the evening and killed his new wife in the morning. That is until he married Shahrazad, who has managed to stay alive for more than three years because of her ability to spin stories. Shahrazad will tell part of a story every night, but not finish it until the next. Once finished, she will immediately begin a new story. That is how she has been able to survive as the Sultan's wife for so long. However, Shahrazad is now terrified that she is running out of stories. When she learns of Marjan's storytelling abilities from her sister, she orders Marjan to be brought to the harem. Once there, Marjan gathers the stories for Shahrazad that will save not only her life, but the lives of other young women in her city. The well-known Arabian Nights tales get a new look in this story. Through the course of the story Marjan overcomes her handicap, her sadness, and her anger while she helps her new friends. Marjan says it best when she says, "The thing about life is, no matter what happens to you, it goes on. What seems like an ending is really a beginning in disguise." Highly recommended.

Summary: The power of storytelling
Review: Young Marjan, disabled by an "accident," discovers secrets about herself after being taken into the inner circle of the Sultan's harem. There she must provide story material for the famed heroine Shahrazade, who is desperately trying to stay alive and thus save the lives of other young women by providing continual entertainment for the Sultan. Marjan is smuggled out of the palace in a variety of disguises and sets out through the bazaar of the city in search of an old blind storyteller, whom she remembers to be a rich source of tales. Be prepared to read this in a single sitting--the book is almost impossible to put down!

Summary: One Minute Review
Review: The penalty is fatal if Shahrazad can not captivate the Sultan's attention with a narrative. Queen Shahrazad must find the maximum strenth within herself to fight the constant stress. Although, not without the help of a couple of friends to catch her when she falls. Based on the original 1001 Arabian Nights, this is an unique retelling of the famed tale. The Sultan enraged by the betrayal of one of his wives, has gone on a murder spree. He assassinated a new wife very morning, until a miracle occurs. Queen Shahrazad currently subsided the slaughtering by,"Spinning a shadow," night after night. The tales amuse the Sultan therefore he lets the Queen live to see another day pass. Shahrazad's supply of fables is running low whern her younger sibling, naive Princess Dunyazad comes across Marjan. Maimed Marjan as adolescent orphan who is a prodigy of tale-telling, lends a yran to Shahrazad for the following night. Marjan's story gets the thressome into turmoil though, as challenges arise. While searching for the solution, Marjan comes to terms with her mother's suicide. This roller coaster ride is one which will not be forgotten. Suspense, perplexity and unpredictable events occur within a turn of the page. Suited for a variety of themes such as fantasy, drama and action, Shadow Spinner won't be set down until its done. Although, a moments a chapter might dwindle by, Shadow Spinner's engrossing side overpowers the slow going sections. I rate Shadow Spinner 5 out of 5 canny characters.

Summary: Shadow Spiner
Review: I rated this book four stars because at some points the book got very confusing, but most of the time the book was very mysterious. It was about a woman who told her husband stories every night and if she did not come up with a story he had never heard before, she woud get her head chopped off. The book took a very exciting turn when she started running out of stories to tell him.

Review: I really liked this book because it had adventure. You didn't know what was going to happen next and I could not put the book down. Somehow a mystery was woven in to the story and the book became exciting. The author explained every part wonderfully and that is all I can say.

Summary: The truth you would hope
Review: The book was rather dissapointing because I found that the story line was boring and the author didn't really go on to explain what had happened for the young girl or the "romance" of the storyteller and pigeon "captain". The story did give good info on what the customs and such were in Arabia "back then". The book was good to read if you want a quick overalll story.

Summary: Shadow Spinner
Review: This was a very good book. It was well written and it had a very good plot and storyline. Shadow Spinner was a book with lots of adventure and it gave you a the feeling like you were there. The ending had a sense of finality yet there is still room for a second in a series. When you read Shawdow Spinner you wonder if Marjian will be able to save Shazarad or if they will all be killed. You get wrapped up in the storyline and you want to find out what happens. This book also had a happy ending.

Summary: Shadow Spinner Rating
Review: I think that this book was very adventurious. I liked how everyone had different veiws on ways to react to things that happened. I liked how Marjan respected Sharazad, and how she looked up to her, and was willing to help her. I think that Sharazad was a great role model for younger girls. I think that this is a great book for all ages.
