Summary: A Good Book!
Review: This was a good book because it was a happy and sad story. This is the first big book I've read. I liked the part when Mary found the Secret Garden. I liked Colin when he didn't think that his back would be a hunchback, and he wouldn't be sick.
I liked Dickon and Mary the best because Colin has fits a lot.

I think you should read this book.

Summary: Not recommended
Review: The Secret Garden by Frances H. Burnett was one of the more boring books I have ever read. The plot of the story was terrible. A good example was the way Mary found the garden, it was so unoriginal. If I had to pick a favorite character from the story it would be Dickon because I found him interesting. The story takes place in Africa and England. In this book there were no illustrations except for the cover. I did learn something though. I learned the names of many different flowers such as Snowdrops. This is a very bad book in my opinion, so I would never recommend it to a friend.

Summary: The, I'm serious THE best book ever written. Indeed Indeed.
Review: This is the best book ever written. I read a lot and I can say that without a doubt this book touches me in a way that makes me feel as if everything will be ok in the world despite the bombing and destroying and corruption found the more that we "advance." This book is so innocent and beautiful. Frances Hodges Burnett must have been a beautiful person herself to tell her story so clearly through the eyes of a child. Not only does her story and writing style remind you of good things in the world, but she's funny too. Witty in a playful way as she connects the thoughts of the children to the way that adults would see the world. And the storyline is also brilliant. As Mary, Colin, and Dickon grow into life we can think back to simpler days and relate. The book also has timeless themes, whether they were intended or not. The idea that nature is "magic" seems like something being forgotten more and more as the decades roll. So I love this book because it represents everything that is beautiful in life. It gives me hope and it makes me joyfully happy. Good for the soul and everyone needs that.

Summary: A Secret Garden Indeed!
Review: This story is actually my first classic that I read about 3 years ago as an English project. And I can tell you that at that time I DID NOT like to read. It is such a sweet book......not at all "mushy" like other sweet stories. I would recommand people to read this when they are younger, because I can very well picture the people who use to love princess and castles to love this book. It shows some of the true ways and feelings people have in real life. There is every possible detail to love in this story!

Summary: My Review
Review: I liked the book The Secret Garden because it's a really good book. I thought it was interesting and there's good expression. The setting was in two different parts of the world. Mary had no friends at first but she changed. The Secret Garden is a mystery. The characters are likable.I didn't like Mrs. Medlock though, because she was strict. When Mary meets Colin she doesn't know what to think about him. She doesn't know what to think about Dickon either.
The Secret Garden is just right for me. I think other kids should read it too.

Summary: My Review
Review: The Secret Garden was a really good book because it had two mysteries. However, I did not like how many girls were in it. I did not think magic was real but I was rong. I recommend it for all first and second graders. They should read The Secret Garden.

Summary: One of my childhood favorites -- and I still love it!
Review: I can't count how many times I read this book in elementary school -- dozens, I'm sure. I still read it occasionally and listen to the musical.

Here's a brief synopsis: Mary Lennox is a bitter child whose parents live in India during the very early 1900s (approximately). Her mother and father pay no attention to her, and she is spoiled, selfish and temperamental. When cholera kills her parents, she is sent to live with her uncle -- a hunchback who lives in a huge mansion on the Yorkshire moors.

Slowly and with the help of the maid, the maid's brother, and the gardener, Mary becomes a normal, happy child. But her uncle never sees her and is rarely there. He was devastated by his wife's untimely death years earlier and cannot bear to be in the house where they lived together.

Mary also hears a mysterious crying that no one else seems to. She investigates and discovers it is her cousin, Colin, who refuses to see anyone, believing he is crippled. His father can't bear to look at him because his mother died in childbirth. Mary and Colin discover his mother's garden, long neglected, and eventually Colin realizes he is perfectly healthy and learns to walk again.

This is one of those books every little girl should read. It will stay in your heart forever.

Summary: The Secret Garden
Review: The Secret Garden is a great book. It is about a girl named Mary Lennox who is orphaned when her parents die. Mary is a sour little girl until she discovers a secret garden at Misselthwaite Manor, a mansion that belongs to her uncle. She discovers a lot when she's there including her cousin, Colin. He is a sickly, spoiled brat who always thinks he is going to die. Mary helps him learn to be nice and to enjoy life by showing him the beauty of the secret garden.

I liked the book because the plot kept me interested and the author described the garden so well I could imagine being there. I recommend this book to anyone who likes good plots and imaginary places.

Summary: The Secret Garden
Review: A lot of action goes on in this book. I really think you should read this book! Mary's mother was always going to parties and never had cared for her. Her father was also too busy for her. She was spoiled a lot!! She lived in a big house in India. Mary had a nanny. Her nanny was the only one who cared for her. In India there is a lot of sickness. Her parents got the sickness and passed away. Her nanny did too. That's when Mary moved to England. I liked the part when Mary was the only person left. It was cool how she survived!

I think you would like the ending. It was a different style of writing. I think it was a mystery when she was looking for the key and the door. I love this book!!
