Summary: A page turner
Review: I simply could not put this fascinating book down. After a bit of a slow start with tons of descriptions of the stodgy, dull, orange growing colony Daria, the book really took off. The abrupt switch from stolid Brititshy normalcy to outright magical fun is what makes this book so good. Robin McKinley never puts in too many unessecary details of describing the native's lives which she could have easily fallen into. I thought that the novel was much more consistent and interesting than The Hero and the Crown which started off great but got progressively boring. If you love fantasy and magic books you will just love this book. However, even if you don't like fantasy you will want to read this two or three times.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Pretty slow, but overall good.
Review: Robin has a very unique writing style that many cannot comprehend and do not like. She tends to bog things down with excessive details, making her books hard to read. Her plot lines, however, are excellent and they make a great story. If you want to read this book, be prepared for a slow beginning and make sure you have the patience to read through this slow moving plot.
I loved Robin's books once I got myself to read them, because at first they were just to boring and confusing to get through the beginning. Once you do, however, they turn very good.

Summary: Worthy Read
Review: This was the first book by McKinley I have read. Instantly she took me for a ride with the Blue Sword. You can read all the other reviews and find more detail on the plot and characters, but I will say, that it is a great book and I loved it. The only issue I had with the story, was that the love developement between her and Corlath could've been more involved. You don't get to experience the obvious conection of true love between them till the very absolute end of the book, and hated that cuz'I love a bit more romance in a novel, cuz' really love is the most powerful emotion out there!
But, that is one woman's opinion;that is the only wish I had for this book. The adventure is fun and makes you wish you could really go to this mysterious desert and ride their magnificent horses! You will have a hard time putting the book down, and you will be tempted more than once to stay up past you bed time, or even put off a few of those chorse you should be doing too!
Enjoy!

Summary: The Blue Sword
Review: This book is undoubtedly my favorite. It has all the things I look for in a book. There is fantasy, honor, trust, and love. though I dont usually go for the mushy books this one really cought my attention. I actually searched for three years to find a copy of this book for myself. It's just that good.

Summary: A great fantasy with romance and action!
Review: I read this after reading Hero & the Crown (glad I read them in that order too) and both books weren't initial page turners early on for me but after a few chapters...I couldn't hardly put either one of them down. You just get lost in the story and everything that's going on. Harry was a great heroine and I loved the romantic tension. The ending was awesome! I really enjoyed reading more about Aerin & Luthe too (from Hero & the Crown).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: wonderful read for children or adults
Review: I loved this book when I was 11 and I still re-read now that I'm 25. It was a miracle for me to finally find a book in which the girl is the hero. I will recommend this and The Hero and The Crown for my own daughter, when she's old enough to read them

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: THE BLUE SWORD
