Summary: Enchanting, Heroic, Magical
Review: The first time I picked up this riveting piece of fiction, I was automatically hooked. I normally read rather fast, but for this book, "The Blue Sword", I forced myself to slow down! The very beginning of Robin's book was kind of befuddling to me, but once you're past that you can't put it down. Like probably all naive teens, I would sometimes wish that I could escape away into Damar, living the romantic life of Harry (especially when I was feeling down). I normally read this fantastic, enjoyable novel at least once a year. To all fantasy fans(and Robin McKinley fans), I strongly recommend this wonderful story to most ages( above 6th grade. Just an advisory) Enjoy!

Summary: One of my favorite books
Review: This is one I re-read as often as I can. It's very believable. I heard it on tape once and that was even better. It was hard to come back to real life.

Summary: Fabulous and Inspiring...
Review: Robin McKinley has been my imagination's hero since my Mom had the good grace to get The Blue Sword for me in my early teens sometime. Like most, the beginning seemed a tad ponderous to me, but the tension growing and plot climax was WELL worth it. For a time I thought I was the only one to TRULY appreciate her inspiration...she doesn't write as prolifically as other fantasy authors, but another thing to separate her from the crowd is okay by me!! In my vulnerable years I wished I was more like the Blue Sword heroine. Reading this book was something like a gift to my dreams...:) I've always wanted to thank her...

Summary: One of the Best!
Review: Like everyone else, I think that this is one of the best books ever written. I first read it in 4th or 5th grade, and I didn't like it. Sacriledge! I found the first chapter or two to be slow so I returned it to the library unfinished. However, something drew me back and I couldn't put it down the second time. So stick with it. I also recommend the Hero and the Crown and Deerskin (although this book is quite different than the other two).

Summary: EXCELLENT, WELL-WRITTEN, UNIQUE, WORTHY
Review: The book was just plain fabulous and if I'd read it when I was 13, I would have given it 5 stars, but alas, I am 35, and read with the eyes of a jaded adult. But no doubt about it, this book inspired me to read every fantasy Robin has written, and I recommend it. Deerskin is also wonderful! Enjoy.

Summary: FaNtAsTic!!!
Review: This is one of my favourite books of all the fantasy books I have read, like The Song of the Lioness, by Tamora Pierce (which is really good), Belgariad, by David Eddings, Mercedes Lackey and her Valdemar series and not forgetting Robert Jordan and his wheel of time series. If you are a fantasy nut, like me, this is a must get. It is extremly hard to get hold of the book, trust me, at least in Singapore. I have searched up and down the place and all efforts are futile. Anyway, the plot is quite good, with the right mix of chemistry. I think this book is better than "The Hero And The Crown", (well, maybe that's because of the ending) It overall satisfied my fastidious picking and it is a book which you would read over and over and over again. (Which is why I am trying to get hold of the book, despite me reading it twice,) So, if you are any smarter than me, jus go get the book and you'll see what I mean.

Summary: THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!!!!
Review: This book captured my heart the first time I read it. I am a total bookworm and horse-mad, so I consider it the perfect book. It has just the right blend of adventure, fantasy, magic, and romance to make it utterly REAL. This is the book that made me wish I could jump out of my life and live forever in Damar. Since I got my own copy I read it an average of twice a month and I can now qoute passages off the top of my head, but I never tire of it. It is an all around wonderful book!
