Rating: Summary: Scribbler of Dreams Review: I enjoy reading young adult romances. I purchased this book, feeling very giddy concerning what it was going to be about.
I absolutely loathed it. I stopped reading at page 118. I disliked Kaitlin Malone very much so even at the beginning, but I didn't stop reading because I was interested in the story. I should explain why I despised this book, but I don't think Scribbler of Dreams deserves even that much.
This is the worst young adult book I have read for many years. Please read What Happened to Lani Garver, it is nearly perfect.
Rating: Summary: the greatest book ever Review: I loved your book it was the best book i have ever read and I read alot and I am a crazy teen and this book is out of control and it made my heart sink. thank you for writing this book and I mean thank you
Rating: Summary: Scribbler of Dreams Review: Seventeen-year-old Kaitlin Malone was born to hate the Crutchfeilds. For years the Malones and the Crutchfeilds hated each other .Its all because Kaitlin Malones father Mr Malone had supposably killed Mr Crutchfeild and spent a couple of years in jail .When Kaitlin goes to a new big high school shes scared and has no really close friends she eat lunch by her self near noone and worte in her journal .Until she noticed this boy who sat under a tree that was near where Kaitlin eat .He was an artist but,he was also popular which was no where near Kaitlin .He always looked at Kaitlin and finally they got to no each other and she found out that his name was Bram and later on after she relised she liked him more than a friend she noticed his last name was Crutchfield .She didnt want to go on always being around him but she could not help it she was in love.Wants they started going out her dad was coming home from jail and shes bein keeping the truth from everyone .She even has a fake last name tored Bram her last name is Hampton. She also notices that the Crutchfeild faimly is not what she expacted .They were sweet people totaly oppasite of what she thought.Well words get out that cruchfeild and Malone are going out and Bram finds out hes going out with the daugter of a killer and he freaks .Her family also finds out and also freaks .After Bram heard about her lieing and after freaking out he relises after a week he cant live without her and they were back together again thinking of a way to get there parents to agree with them.
Rating: Summary: A great twist on an old tale Review: A refreshing new twist on the Romeo and Juliet tale.
Other's have already written about the book and they're pretty much right about the plot. Two rival families descended from sisters, Bram doesn't know that Kait is a Malone and she doesn't know that Bram is a Crutchfield until after she has already begun falling for him. Of course true love never runs smooth and her identity is soon revealed.
As I wrote it is a great read. I loved the characters and the story moved really well without getting too involved in details. The only thing that was wrong from my point of view was that I thought the ending was slightly rushed and left a few too many loose ends.
Rating: Summary: Truly a work of literature Review: I totally enjoyed this book - in fact, when i read it in class, i had to buy another copy for myself to keep at the book fair! the book combines a perfect blend of love, hate, betrayal, misery, and hope... all very human aspects.
i could really relate to all the characters in the story and how they must have felt. kaitlin is a very likable character that we can all relate to. I liked how the characters in this novel never really totally good or bad.
I enjoyed the writing style, because it was very natural and very special. There is just the right amount of words for you to form a picture in your mind of what's going on.
The beginning of this book was catching, but towards the middle and to the end it just got greater and greater.
The moral of this novel is great too, because it teaches us not to hate, but to forgive, and to never pass hatred on to others.
I highly recommend this book to teenagers, or more mature readers. This is the kind of book you won't get until you're the right age. This book is truly a work of literature. I wonder if Mary E. Pearson has written any more novels like this?
Rating: Summary: a wonderful piece unable to be put down Review: This was a very magical story. But theres no magic invovled. It's about a girl named Kaitlyn and a boy named Bram whose families were born to hate each other. After there long journey they defeat the odds. I was intrigued by the first paragraph and was glued all the way to the end. If your not into love and two lovers who defeat the odds of two families who were born to hate each other all because of two sisters then this is not the book for you. It's very touching and helps you get intact with your past generations. Kaitlyn lies about her real name just so she can protect her and Brams relationship. When Bram finds out on the worst day he's not only embaressed but her lie cost there relationship. True or not? Read it to find out but trust me not only will you be glued and unable to stop reading but you will also fall in lkove with the care and romance and effections shown from beginning to end.
Rating: Summary: Scribbler of Dreams Review: I think the book was really outstanding. I have to give thanks to the author for writing the book and putting it in teenage terms. Remeo and Juliet was okay if your understood it but scribbler of dreams made it more thrilling. I like Kaitlin. She's sweet, smart girl and thinks quick in her mind. But kaitlin changed her ways for a boy she fell in love with. Bram is kind but I think he worries what other people think about him especially this family. I can understand and relate to kaitlin, Why she lied to the people she loved to make them happy. Her parents a wonderful parents. They trust kaitlin, but after they found out the truth they still love her and didn't stop her from doing the right thing. I think Bram finally followed his heart when he went back to Kaitlin. And Kaitlin did make a point about the hatred between their families had to stop somehow and why not now!
Rating: Summary: Bad writing and lame characters make for a bad novel Review: I enjoyed this book in the begining, but as read more, I discovered how awful this book truly was. The characters weren't real. They weren't believable. I didn't care what happened to the lead girl. Why was there so much hated between the sisters? It was never explained. The murder wasn't explained thorougly. The hatred between the families seemed lame also. I was not impressed with the book as a whole. I would not recommend it.
Rating: Summary: very pleased Review: My opinion:
I really liked the book it was really good I think the characters were well thought about also the plot was really good it made you want to keep reading which is what I did. I though the book had a lot of suspense and drama in it which is really good. I think the author really has something going for them to be able to write such a good book. My favorite character was kaitlan she was very brave and knew how to handle situations like the one she was in she made the best of it and in the end won Bram even if she lied to him. I can relate to her because I write in a journal about my dreams and how they will affect me in the end. I also liked Bram even if he wasn't my favorite character he was also brave and never let anything bring him down he was very plausible and witty, he was also very sweet and in the end knew that his love for kaitlan was stronger then the hate between two families. Kaitlin's sister Abby reminded me of my brother because if I was dating someone that I wasn't supposed to then he would black mail me to but I don't think he would be there for me in the end like Abby was for kaitlan I think that my bro would've just been mean like he always is. Kaitlans parents are very trust worthy of her but they didn't know that she was dating a crutch field and even though they found out they still loved her in the end. Otherwise I really like the book I though it to be very eye opening for me.
