Summary: Pretty close to the best book I've ever read
Review: I liked this book a lot, because the author did a very good job writing it. She made it so that you can't put the book down. You always want to know when Kaitlin is going to tell Bram and her family about her BIG secret. Also I liked how it was a love story, but still was mysterious because in the beginning you didn't know what was going on.

Summary: A Modern Romeo and Juliet
Review: Scribbler of Dreams was a sweet, sad and thought-provoking story about Kaitlin Malone, a writer, who hopelessly falls head-over-heels in love with an artist at her new high school, Bram. Then Kaitlin learns that Bram is a Crutchfield - a member of the family that happen to be rivals of the Malones for five generations; ever since two Crutchfield sisters stopped speaking to each other when one had an illegitimate child. Kaitlin still believes that all Crutchfields ae monsters (with the exception of Bram) especially since her father is in jail for killing Robert, Bram's father (accidently, the Malone's claim). But after meeting Allison, Bram's mother, and his siblings, Kaitlin realizes that isn't true. Then Allison lends her the old crumbling diaries of the original rivaling sisters, and Kaitling learns that the Malones are partially at fault also. Be prepared for a soppy Kleenex-wasting conclusion!

It was actually my Mom's and she handed it to me to read while she went to the doctor's office and I read it in the waiting room then in the car and once I got home and finished it within 5 hours. Summary: Awe-inspiring romance
Review: This is a wonderful story! Well-written in first person, Kaitlin Malone being the narrator, it is a real treat to read. It almost reminds me of West-Side Story or Romeo and Juliet.

The Malones hate the Crutchfields, and vice versa, and it has been that way forever. It all started with the two Crutchfield sisters, Maggie and Amanda, and the web of lies, deceit, and betrayal they wove. And now, generations later, this feud has led up to murder. The Malones insist it was an accident, but regardless, a Crutchfield is dead and a Malone is in jail for it.

Kait, a thoughtful poet, is proud of her family. She is a Malone to the core. Raised to hate the Crutchfields, she blames them for everything that has happened. And now that money is tight, she and her sister Abby have to go to public school on Crutchfield land. There she meets blue-eyed artist Bram and they instantly fall in love. But-alas!-Bram is a Crutchfield, and to keep their love a secret, Kait lies and deceives. But when the Crutchfields threaten to destroy their land, she has to decide where her loyalties lie. Is she a Malone? And can a Malone really love a Crutchfield?

This thought-provoking romance is wonderful and tender. I highly recommend it to anyone (especially sentimentals like myself) who enjoys a good story.

Summary: Love and Deception
Review: Scribbler of Dreams can only be described, as a Romeo and Juliet look alike. Kaitlyn hates the Crutchfields, she was born to hate the Crutchfields just as Bram hates the Malone's. She said herself that the hatred her family has nursed for generations was no longer a casual fact in her head. She felt it. She wanted it. It was the one thing she could count on, when she could count on nothing else. So when her life is turned upside down because her father is in jail for killing Robert Crutchfield, Kaitlyn and her sister are transferred from their private school to a public school that is on Crutchfield land. Shy, quiet Kaitlyn's hatred toward the Crutchfields is stronger than ever. Looking to get away from the crowd Kaitlyn eats lunch outside with another boy. Within a week Kaitlyn falls head- over- heels in love with Bram... Bram Crutchfield! Kaitlyn decides to hide her identity from him to give their relationship a chance. Once she finds out that the flip- flops in her stomach and the tingly feeling that she gets when she is around Bram proves to her that their love is real, the question is not when she'll tell him, but if. One lie turns into another and another and as her friend Becky said, "O what a tangled web we weave..." Things start to get complicated and the truth Kaitlyn thought she knew turns out to be completely wrong. Kaitlyn finds out the real reason why the two families rival each other and comes to the conclusion that it was all a misunderstanding that went too far. In the end, Bram finds out who Kaitlyn really is. What is his reaction? Is their love strong enough to perhaps right all the wrongs that have been committed? Read the book and find out the rest.
Mary Pearson's characters are so real, you can feel their pain and their joy. Every time Bram touches Kaitlyn I feel exactly what Kaitlyn feels. The words are captivating. The love story is amazing, it's exactly what every girl wants and can relate to. The rivalry between the two families is so intense you can understand why both families hate each other, yet you can't pick sides. The book keeps you on your toes the whole time. This well- written novel is a perfect example of family loyalty and the power to forgive and forget. I enjoyed reading this book and know that you would too. I recommend this book to anyone who likes love stories with an intense plot.
