Review: I first had to read Swallowing Stones for a english class. It starts off with Mike getting a gun for his birthday from his grandfather. Mike and his friend Joe go off into the woods to test out the gun. But when Mike shoots it the impossible happens. The bullet wounds up killing a someone. Mike learns that he was the one who shot the guy. The story also has to do with Jenna. She is the daughter of the man who got shot. It shows the emotions she goes through with her fathers' death and feelings with her boyfriend. Mike spends the summer wondering what he should do.
The story was very good. You really wanted to keep on reading the book, I couldn't put it down. I would recommend the reading for all teens and adults. Swallowing Stones really makes you think about what you would do if you were that sitution. Swallowing Stones is a book to read if you're looking for something to read.

Review: I listened to the audio cassette of this book. I loved it from the beginning. The characters were very realistic and their emotions were written about so accurately. This book is one of my favorite ya books. I picked up the book afterwards and read it too.

Review: i loved the book, but i absolutely HATED the ending. i cant stand books that have no conclusion whatsoever. up until the ending i would have given the book 5 stars, but i can't believe how the book ended.

Review: i read this book for a school project... and i had a couple weeks to read it, but i had it done within one week.. i couldnt believe how good of a book it was... it was not a kiddy book or anything like that... the book made u wonder what was going to happen next, and things like that.. well, all in all i thought the book was great.. i would tell everyone to read it at least once !!

Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. I was interested in it from the begining to the end. I didn't think that any of the parts were to boring. It was kind of scary to really think that something like that could really happen. It was about a boy who just got a gun for his birthday and went out to shoot trees and shot a man.

Review: I really loves this book. It is so full of suspense, that u just don't ever want to put it down! Michael Mackenzie throws an awesome birthday party when he turns 17. His grandfather gives him a Winchester 45. rifle, and michael just can wait to try it. So he shoots it high up in the air, and doesn't find out until later that the bullet hits a man named charlie Ward, that lives all the way across town. The story talks about what happens to their lives, from both sides of the story. That is one thing that I particularly liked about it. It tells how michael tries to hid from the fact that he killed the Jenna Wards father, hoping that when everybody finds out that she will forgive him, since it was an accident. It also shows how Jenna wants to find out who killed her father so bad, that she has to go around and find out information from the town gossip, so that she can kill him to get her revenge. The story is told in a way that you can really relate to the characters, even though they are having a really hard time that not many people go through, the book talks about them in a way that teenagers can really relate to because some of the issues are about real life. I thought this book was a really good book. When I read it I couldn't put it down, there were no boring parts, or anything. It was just an awesome book, that i think everyone should think about reading.

Summary: A good book for telling two sides of a story
Review: I recommend this book to High School students because it tells both sides of a freak accident. It shows you how each one of them deals with and comes to terms with what happend on that fateful day. Telling you this it gives you, as the reader, compassion for not only the victoms but the people that caused the accident as well. It is suspensful and a little romantic therefore I think guys and girls will enjoy this book.

Review: I think people will enjoy this book because it has so much mystery in it. When you start to read it you just don't want to put it down because you want to see what happens next. Later on in the book I kind of disliked it because they're trying to find a way to run away from their problems and that does not work. When you have a problem you should go talk to someone about it, and I think that the way the characters acted in the book was wrong. I can relate to the characters because when I have something wrong or a problem I just run away from it I don't like to talk about it in the book when Joe wanted to talk about it the other person just looked at him but did not say a word. I think people should read this book because it does not put you to sleep and it teaches you a lesson not to be shooting guns or fireworks out in the open. You should do it out in the country. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it to people to read.

Review: I think that this book is the best one that I have ever read. It's full of suspense and it seems so real. I recommend this book to mature audiences, because of some of the content, and to thise who like to read dramas. Joyce McDonald has really outdone herself. To write a book that deals with a 17 year old boy who thinks he's killed a man 1 mile away after firing his rifle at his birthday party on the 4th of July. He thinks he should come forward after seeing the man's daughter and hearing the report on the radio but his friend thinks otherwise. He says that the cops can't convict him because they only have circumstantional evidence. But will he, or won't he? Read the book to find out! =u)
