Summary: It's pretty good.
Review: This book was kind of boring. It is about Tendai, Rita, and Kuda. Their father is General Matsika. He doesn't let them out of the house all their life. It's kind of slow moving the first 100 pages. But it gets better. They get kidnapped by the She Elephant, who forces them to work in a plastic mine. When they escape, they go to Resthaven, a village that once you go in, if you are accepted, you never get out. But they escape and go to the mellower's mother's house. She takes care of them until Tendai finds out that she is holding them for ransom. Then the She Elephant kidnaps them again from the mellower's house and I forgot what happens after that. So you will have to read it to find out. But I wouldn't have read it if I didn't have to for a book report. Overall, it was a worthy effort to make an exciting story. But it is boring.

Summary: Good!
Review: This book was a very good book! It was suspenseful and full of action and adventure. The book is about three children, Tendai, Rita, and Kuda. They're father is General Matsika and he has never let them beyond the property line. But the children sneak out to have an adventure, but they didn't get exactly what they wanted. They are kidnapped and turned into slaves working at a toxic waste dump. When they escape they come to a place of peace, but the inhabitants make them stay forever. After a while they are acussed of witchcraft and are thrown out. They then take the subway to friend of the family's house, where they are cared for until they find out that the person is holding them for ransom. After they escape again they run into the lady from the waste dump and are taken to a bunch of gansters. The gansters are just about to sacrific them to the gods when thedetectives that have been looking for them all along, but always seem to get there too late, help in rescuing the kids.

Summary: Page Turner
Review: I read this book years ago when it first came out. I originally bought because of the strange title and cover, just to see what it was. When I began reading it I initially thought that I wouldn't like. The fact that it takes place in the future (2194 to be exact) was interesting, but the fact that it took place in Zimbabwe, and centers around the family of the Zimbabwe General, more specifically his kids, just seemed like a concept that I wouldn't enjoy reading about. After just a few pages of reading I knew I would love this book. All the different settings and characters were great, and I loved the glossary at the end of the book. Nancy Farmer really created a whole new world for the reader to become immersed in. A world of both fleeting fantasy and harsh reality. Get this book and you won't put it down until you're finished. Even then you'll probably want to read it again.

Summary: This is one great book!
Review: Ever read a book that made you cringe? Made you shout? Made your heart race? Made you laugh out loud? Whether you have or you haven't THIS book will get you to do all of those things!

This is an excellent Science Fiction, adventure, fantasy, coming of age novel set in a place not many such novels are set: Africa. The history and mythology of the continent are woven through this story of the near future. The characters and relationships are realistic and well drawn. The action will, at times, take your breath away. And the bad guys...are REALLY bad! A great read no matter your age. My 4-6 grade reading group said of this book (the longest by far we read all year) "It ROCKED!"

Summary: Absolutely Enthralling & Perfectly Intriguing
Review: When Tendai, 13, Rita, 11, and Kuda, 4, plan to be gone for theday and don't return, their parents call in the professionals: Ear,Eye, and Arm, three detectives who have supersensative abilities. The detectives follow the children from one place to another, barely missing them each time.

This is a wonderfully written book. The characters are very well-developed. They each have talents and flaws. They make mistakes. They're almost human. This is one of the best books I have ever read.

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: This book was a fairly good book. It had a lot of stuff Iwanted like humor and a little action. Oh, and a lot ofadventure. It's just that It had a little to much desciption and not enough action. This is a book (I rate) should be for grades 4-6.

Summary: A Review
Review: The Ear,The Eye and the Arm may be very different from theHarry Potter trio, but it is right up there. Set in a very exoticplace, Zimbabwe, it gives you a lot of info on the customs, while at the same time hypnotizing you with it's marvelous plot. The characters are all great.... The She Elephant, who is evil yet has a little good in her. Tendai, who is the oldest yet is a bad warrior and his siblings who are not allowed to walk across the street.
