Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: Its mostly like what these other people have wrote about. GREAT STORIE by a Great Author. One of many that he has wrote. Still topping the charts on my list. READ IT!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: The best book in the Heritage series
Review: So what if you pretty much knew how it was going to end... it was worth the ride! But all of the Heritage books suffer from a hasty tying-up-of-loose-ends in Talismans.

Summary: Fantasy- fantastic!
Review: The 'Elf Queen of Shannara' was the first terry Brooks book I read. I suddenly fell in love with his writing-style. Although I didn't quite understand it, (that is only because I did not read the first and second books before it) I like it very much. The book centres 'round Wren, a Shannara child. It is beatifully written, with many details and emotion. Needless to say I now want to read all his books!

Summary: a definite improvement
Review: the elf queen is definitely the best of the Heritage series so far (i haven't read talismans yet). this is not really saying much in a series bogged down by extended, monotonous character developments and repetitive imagery.

what makes elf queen interesting is that we finally move out of the familiar four lands into an island we have not explored before. we also meet some true characters rather than brook's typically machine-spawned stereotypes. the splinterscat and Ellenroh are examples of characters that leave an impression on the reader wihtout brooks having to going into a detailed expository on the characters thoughts and feelings every other page. this is the case with the more important characters like wren.

after the initial shannara series, brooks received criticism that his characters were cardboard cutouts with no charisma. his solution seems to be harping on the same monotonous characteristics. for example, he explains at least twice on every page that wren is no longer sure of her identity and is afraid of her newfound magic. these are interesting character developments but they could be brought out more subtly by a better writer.

Summary: The Elf Queen - The best in the series
Review: The Elf Queen is truly a masterpiece. The journey of Wren and Garth is amazing, and I won't give anything away about the "Elfstones," but the Elven magic, not just the stones, in the book is very, very cool. I have always liked Brook's epic scale of the battles really amzed me in the other books, but his use of magic (And the splinterscat) is awesome. Read this book!

Summary: A good book to read
Review: The Elf Queen of Shannara has to be the best book that I have ever read in my life.I enjoyedthis book very much because as soon as I started to read it I could not set it down. you should read all of the books before this one because the book book goes back to the previous books to things that happened before and you might get mixed up a little bit like I did. I liked this book because of all the near death experiences, fantastic battles, and the good plot

Summary: Another Excellent Book by Terry Brooks
Review: The Elf Queen of Shannara is the 3rd book in the Heritage of Shannara series, and it is excellent. I found this book a little "slow" at the beginning, but as I read further, it picked up steam. In this installment, we are following Wren's charge from Allanon; restore the elves to the Four Lands. I must say that I wasn't too impressed with Wren in the other 2 "Heritage" books, but Terry Brooks brings her to life in this book. We follow her struggle to find her true identity and her task to free the elves. We are also introduced to Stresa, a splinterscat, and Faun, a tree squeak, who become Wren's constant companions. Wren also finds out the terrible truth about the Shadowen and how they appeared. Overall, this is another excellent book by Terry Brooks.

Summary: Continuing drab storyline
Review: The questions you may think I have do not pertain to the overall series of books. But rather the syle of Mr. Brooks tale telling in this volume.

The trip in to Arborlon was wonderfully told and descriptive of just how dangerous the demons of the forest were. Trouble sought them out. On the way back out, it appeared that the only trouble they encountered is what they found. The evil that was everywhere was now confined to it's small little habitats.

That being said, this book is quite good. It tells a fun and exciting tale that should not be missed. Definately read this book.
