Summary: Review of Hope was here
Review: Hope Was Here is about a girl who since she was born had to deal with many troubles and challenges. Her life changed since she moved to a small town in Wisconsin, with her aunt.
She worked as a waitress just like her mother.
This book gets very interesting and you want to find out what is going to happen to Hope and will she ever have a normal life.

Also in this book we can see the courage of a girl to face a political election. Her boss is running for governor of the city, but the problem is that he has leukemia and the people of the city don't want to vote for him.
The story finally ends when he loses the election and Hope remembers what she has lived in her new home and what she has learned.

I think that if thay can create a movie or a continuation of the book, would be more popular and could become a great book for those (especially girls) who are looking for a little help in their life, how to deal with new firends, new places and very complicated cituations. If you like stories of caourage, patience and learning experiences, you'll love this book.

I liked this book because you can say you have many troubles in your life, but after I read this book, they are nothing compared to this girl's life.

Summary: Fantastic author, fantastic book
Review: Hope is a sixteen year old girl who has just moved to Mulhoney, Wisconsin, with her Aunt Addie. When Hope was born her mother did not want to take responsibility for her, and so she has lived with her Aunt for her whole life. Addie is a cook and Hope is a waitress, and they get a job at a diner in Mulhoney, owned by charismatic G.T. Stoop. G.T. is the nicest and most honest person Hope has ever met, and she doesn't think it's fair such a man should have leukemia. However, G.T. shocks the whole town when he announces that he's running for mayor. When Hope and her friend Braverman help with G.T.'s campaign, she learns more about politics and life than she ever dreamed she would. It's a story about food, hardships, truth, and striving for what you believe in, but most of all it's a story about hope.

The writing style Joan Bauer uses in this book is one of the best I have ever read. It is written in first person, so the whole story is told through the eyes of Hope. One fascinating thing is the way that Hope views the situations around her. For instance, since she's a waitress, she often relates things in life to food or the restaurant business. Something else that makes this book even more terrific is that it is not only a great read, but it's a book that can teach you something about life. Although the book is not preachy, it easily slips in important life lessons to the story. The only major complaint that can be made about the book is that the length is not long enough. Once you finish you don't want it to be over, and since the book is less than 200 pages it doesn't take too long to finish. One of the most important factors of a good book is if the story really makes you think, and this book goes above and beyond doing that.

Summary: A book that brings Hope
Review: Hope Yancey moves everywere with her aunt Addie to own or co-own restaurants at which Hope is a great waitress and Addie is the best cook. One trip takes them to Wisconsin were they have to take care of a diner for a man who has leukemia, his name is G.T. Stoop. When Hope and Addie move to Wisconsin they meet new faces besides just G.T. like, Braverman, who is the diner's grill man, and many other townspeople and diner workers. While Hope and Addie are in Wisconsin they encounter problems and difficult people that come their way. One shocker to everyone is when G.T. says he's going to run for mayor of the local town despite his battle with leukemia. He runs against the towns former mayor who was in office for years. Through this book the town goes through some hard times, but Hope and Addie continue to stay strong.

I thought this was an interesting book to read. I thought it would be a girly girl book, but infact I found it not. It was full of confidence, fun, and truth. If you want to read a fun or interesting book read this book, you just might like it.

Summary: A Hopeful Review
Review: Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer
This story is about a girl named Tulip who changes her name to Hope. She and her aunt Addie have owned and co-owned many restaurants. They saw an application to co-own a restaurant and take care of a man who has a disease. That is where the journey begins.
A most interesting part is when there are beatings, robberies, and other mysterious events occur. Well, a really interesting character to me is "Addie". Because everyone says she can "Pull life's truth from a chicken." Like Hope would say, "It's like getting one extraordinary meal after eating junk food for a long time. The taste just sweeps through your sensibilities, bring all-out contentment, and the sheer goodness of it makes up for every bad meal you've ever had."
I would recommend this book to girls. The reason why is because it is a tear jerker! This would be the book for people who read realistic books. This book has a lot of conflict mostly about politics.
I give this book a 10 out of 10! It is an excellent book for ages 8 and above. I definitely recommend this book to other children!

Summary: Hope was Here
Review: Hope Was Here

Hope; to cherish a desire with expectation of fulfillment.

How would you like to move from state to state, with your aunt, because your mom couldn't find it in her to take care of you? How about joining a fifty-four year old man diagnosed with leukemia on his campaign to be mayor? That doesn't sound like a dream to me, but for Hope Yancey, that's life. Hope grew up as Tulip Yancey in South Carolina, and moved across the country until she found herself in Mulhoney, Wisconsin, helping G.T., the owner of the restaurant where she works, to get 200 signatures on his petition to added to the voting ballot. But he's up against a tough competitor, Eli Millstone, the previous mayor of Mulhoney, who will lie and cheat, and even go as far as to steal and hire thugs to beat up the members of G.T.'s party to win.

This book really pulls you in because of the way the author intertwined excitement, struggles, grief, and hope, of course, into one emotion packed Newbery award-winning story. You'll follow Hope and her friends everywhere, and hang onto Bauer's every word.

Kids of all ages will love this book, but teens in particular-especially ones who are still finding out what they want to be, and who they are.

Summary: Hope was Here By: Keelie Souders
Review: Hope was Here was a great book. It is about a girl named Hope moving from place to place with her aunt Addie. They both make a major move to Mulhoney, Wisconsin. Hope's mom was never there and a father was the one thing Hope wanted more than anything. Hope's mom sent her a card every once and a while to tell her that she loves her and is always thinking of her. Hope's mom is a waitress and Hope is also. Addie is the cook at the Welcome Stairways, and Hope is the waitress. Mulhoney is voting for the next town mayor. One of the candidates is G.T. He is older and worst he has leukemia but is still willing to give it his all. He is very dedicated to his town. Hope is shocked when she finds out from her aunt that her mom is coming to visit. Hope does not want to see her mother. She is very upset and angry with the fact that her mother is coming. Then G.T. does something very heart warming. Read the book to find out what happens.
I really liked this book. It was very heart warming and joyful. I would recommend this book to my friends and family. I think I would give this book a 4/5 stars. I really liked it. I think that this book would be good for school projects and for fun at home. I think this book skipped a few parts or could have added more details to some parts. I think you should read this book too.
