Summary: A cute book with realistic situations!
Review: "Mates, Dates, and Cosmic Kisses" By Cathy Hopkins relates to the ups and downs of love. We have all been there! The suspence, the hours waiting by the phone so as not to miss that oh-so-important phone call! This book takes you through it all with Izzie, a horoscope crazed girl with a new love in her life, Mark, who seems to be just too busy to give her a call, leaving her life incomplete, and her mind blaming it on the stars. Not to mention her poor friends Lucy and Nesta who have been left begging their mate Izzie for some attention!
"Mates" truly gives us an inside look at how love can make us clueless about everything and everyone but our newest intrest! Anyone who is in the mood for a cute love story or an amusing tale of the social teen life will love this book! Five stars!

Summary: mates, and dates, and tres boring lives
Review: god, this book is soo boring. I really love reading and i hardly ever stop a book in the middle but this one goes so slow. If people are looking for funny quick reads then check out the Georgia series by rennison. If there are people out there who are not great at reading and looking for something to waste time with then go to this series.

Summary: Cute and Fun!
Review: I love this whole series! So these books aren't life-changing or anything, but they're just fun to read. If you want a light read, buy this book. Teenage girls can really relate to Izzie and her friends. Plus, because it's written by an English author they're really funny. These books have a good lesson in the end as well. Have some fun and read all the books in the Mates, Dates Series!

Summary: Great, better than the first
Review: I loved Mates,Dates, and Inflatible Bras and found this one to be even better! This book, instead of focusing on Lucy, focuses on her best friend Izzie.

The book starts off with Izzie taking a chance and being a little wilder than usual - she dyes her hair green to match the bridesmade dress she has to wear for her stepsister's wedding. Right from the first few pages, the book takes off - Izzie is full of energy and life, though she does worry too much about boys.

Izzie meets Mark one day when she's out shopping with her friends Nesta and Lucy, and swears that she's in love. Mark asks for her phone number, and Izzie (very happily) gives it to him. He told her that he'd call soon, but never does.

Izzie sort of chases him for the entire book, but in the end, will they get together, or will she decide that he's not worth worrying over?

I loved this book, it was hilarious and I love the way they talk! Also, there are a lot of Friends references, which were pretty cool - being a fan of the show, I picked up on the not too easy to find ones. This book is great, very similar to Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging. Highly recommended!

Overall grade: A+

Summary: It's alright...
Review: I mean, what do you expect from teenage books like these? It's cute, kind of boring and girly for a while, but still cute. Read it when you have a few hours on hand. It's not the greatest book ever, but still an okay read.

Summary: wonderful
Review: im 14 and i read this book and the second one back to back because they were both so amazing. I love the charecters and setting and all the vibrant details. Even my 10 yr old sister won't put it down and she hates to read. This si a great book for teens and the younger kids who like a little drama. :)

Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny
Review: Izzie is what you would call a mysterious person. She strives to be the next Alanis Morisette, but is also sitting by the phone waiting for a guy to call. Mark. Many times he said that he will call. But does he? No. What's wrong? Did he lose her number? Forget about her? What? Izzie, desperate to find out what she's done wrong, and see if she receives her phone call, sits by the phone day and night, just to see if Mark may call, like he said. But does he?

Fans of the prequel "Mates, Dates, and Inflatable Bras" will relish in the reading of yet another of the three girls featured in the books. Izzie is sharp, witty, and participating in something that many 14-year-old girls will find themselves relating to. Sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring. A must-have.

Summary: Snaps for COSMIC KISSES!
Review: Mates, Dates, and Cosmic Kisses is a typical story of a teenager going through tough times with friends, outlooks on the future, body image, teenage crushes on boys with "fab bods", and first kisses.
This story takes place in the heart of London. A fourteen-year-old girl hasn't any self-confidence. She believes her best friend has found a new best friend, and begins to feel very sorry for herself. She feels even more sorry for herself when everyone but her knows what they want to do when they get older. But when her best friend's new friend's brother kisses her, her problems just multiply. But as the story progresses, she begins to realize the with the help of friends, moms, and Angel Cards, she can find her true self and break through the boundaries that keep her from the real her.
This is a story about self-confidence and realizing your natural beauty. I recommend this book to all girls from the ages 12-16 that enjoy a little humor, romance, and sympathy all stirred together to create a whimsical story about life and overcoming your hardships.
Although the book started slow and was difficult to get into it, it soon wrapped you into its web of realistic problems and how to fix them. It had its dull and slow moving places, and then again it also had its fun and energetic places that kept me reading on and on. It was not my favorite book that I have ever read, but it was not on my list of bad books. I would rate this book 4 stars out of 5.

Summary: Character Voices?
Review: Overall, I think this is as funny as or funnier than the first book Mates Dates and Inflatable Bras. This book is told through Izzie's point of view, which is slightly different than Lucy. The only complaint is that Lucy and Izzie don't have different voices. They both seemed like the same character until someone in the book says her name.
This book Mates Dates and Cosmic Kisses is either a strong three star or a weak four star. I decided to give it a three star because of the character's voice problems. But I thought that everything else was very good, and I had a good laugh
