Summary: Incredible writing...I can't wait to read more!
Review: I made a bold decision and chose to read this novel while classes were still in session and I'm glad I did. I loved Dumas' candid writing style...it had me laughing more than once. I also enjoyed the fast-paced plot. This is the first novel of this type that I've read but I can't wait to read more in the series.

Summary: I thought that this book was excellent!
Review: Alexandre Dumas is such a great writer and he makes you get really into the book. I thought that this book would of been all adventure, but I realized that it had mystery, romance, intrigue, and suspense. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to read all of Alexandre Dumas's books.

Summary: Comrades in Arms
Review: Having been a Special Operations operator for over 8 years, I beleive I speak from experience when I state that the most important aspect of being a soldier is the trust and devotion that you develop regarding your teammates. This trust and dedication is much more intense when you enter the realm of special operations, such as those conducted by Athos, Aramis, Porthos, and D'artagnan. I find that Dumas has captured the spirit and motivation that exemplifies all that I have experienced as a soldier. Some have quibled that the fighting and combat scenarios are not realistic, however I find that the reason and motivation, along with the unquestionable support that each of these comrades in arms provides to his teammates, is much more at the heart of what Dumas has accomplished with this work. Friendship and unquestioning trust and loyalty are what enables a specops team to succeed where others fail. It is these same individual qualities which are so perfectly portrayed in the Three Musketeers.

Summary: A Great, tremendous, epic, and delightful classic!
Review: What is honour? D'Argtanan, Athos, Pothos, and Aramis, probably. Four great men who love (or loved) women, fights, adventure, the King, the Queen, and Monseiur de Tréville. Of course they hate Richeliu. What do you want more? It's a brilliant epic written by a genious called Alexandre Dumas that's going to give you fun!

Summary: I was shocked to say the least!
Review: A couple of years ago, I read this book. Tenth grade honors classes in my area had to read this, so I read it not for leisure, but because I had to. I thought it would be some book written by some guy who lived a hundred and fifty years ago and who used more words than were necassary to describe the most trivial of things. Needless to say, I was wrong. After the first thirty pages or so all my misgivings had gone out the window and I found myself reading in earnest. I actually liked it! Well, it shocked me at the time. It wasn't hard to read, in fact I dont' really know why it was required reading for a tenth grade honors english class. Dumas' use of historical facts (although a lot of dates were changed to fit the story) weaved into his stories created a sense of realism that enhanced the work. Furthermore, the book seemed as if it was written by a modern day writer. Unlike a lot of other literature I was forced to read. For those of you who are having to read this for school, don't sweat it, it's a good book. I also recommned Twenty Years After, and the other three (?) books in the series. Though not as good they are still good reads and are worth picking up.

Summary: Quite simply, the greatest book ever written.
Review: One will never read a book, which will simply capture the heart and imagination as much as this one. Based on true characters, Dumas has turned it into the greatest work of fiction ever to be written. You will simply never care for characters in a book as you will for d'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis. The only words to describe it are sheer brilliance.

Summary: action intrigue adventure at a breakneck pace
Review: as good as it gets. d'artagnan becomes your closest friend. we learn to love porthos, athos and aramis. and we quickly dispise their enemies. possibly the greatest villain of all time in milady and the most conniving fiend of all time in the Cardinal. when you're finished, save it. you'll read it again.

Summary: The best book that was written and that will ever be written
Review: The Three Musketeers is one of best things that I ever heard of. The character I like the most is D'Artagnan. The book starts when D'Artagnan wants to become a musketeer and goes to Paris in 1626. He soon finds Athos, Porthos, and Aramis whoo start off to be his enemies but soon become such good friends that they can be considered his brothers. D'Artagnan and his friends embark on many adventures. D'Artagnan's biggest struggle is with Milady(one of the cardinal's agents). She tries to kill D'Artagnan many times but he escapes with the help of his friends. That and saving the queen from the cardinal's traps are the main adventures for the four friends. Things I love most about the book are the hatred between the Count de Rochefort and D'Artagnan, the love between the four friends, and the politics involved with the book such as the Siege of La Rochelle. There are many turns and twists in the book that I can not give away because they might give away important parts in the book. I also love how Milady tricks John Felton into doing something awful but I cannot give it away. I am only 15 so some parts were confusing to me but I soon learned what the parts meant by either looking them up on the Internet or asking older people who have already read the book about the confusing parts. The complete listing of the musketeer series goes as follows-The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After, The Vicomte de Bragelonne(Sometimes called Ten Years After)but when the Vicomte de Bragelonne is translated into English to 3 parts-1.Confusingly, called the Vicomte de Bragelonne,2.Louise de la Valliere,3.The Man in the Iron Mask. There are also two other books but somepeople do not actually think they are written by Dumas-Son of Porthos, and D'Artagnan the King Maker:A Historical Novel. I am now reading Twenty Years After and when I am done I will write a review to that as well.

Summary: An unsurpassed tale of adventure.
Review: This is definitely a book you want to read. After about 2 days of not putting it down I finally finished it. The adventures of d'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos and Aramis are amazingly entertaining. Dumas is truly a master when it comes to his work. You will actually care about the characters and will want to know what happens to them next. And if you think you have read about bad villains before, you haven't read about Milady. She's the devil herself! I recommend this to anyone who wants a great story, one which will make you laugh and cry, and understand some very important things in life.
