Summary: The best book I have ever read!
Review: Le Trois Mousquetaire is my favourite book. D'Artagnan, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis team up to save Anne of Austria. Anyone who love sword fights or adventure should read this book. Alexander Dumas is the best writer ever!

PS. If anyone has read this book and greatly appeciates Alexander Dumas's writing, please email me. Thank you.

Summary: All for One and One for All
Review: The story of the Three Musketeers is really the story of how D'artagnan became the Fourth Musketeer.D'Artagnan overcomes many obstacles and finaly convinces Cardinal Richelieu of his sincerity. The true villain of the story isn't the Cardinal, but his ruthless agent,Milady de Winter, who takes much into her own hands in her revenge on D'Artagnan and his friends.Athos is the noblest musketeer of them all, having come through tragedy which he only gradualy reveals to his friends.Athos becomes D'Artagnan's best friend in the musketeers, while Porthos provides laughs and Aramis shows a sensitive, poetic side. The tale has much of actual French history, and a large percentage of the characters have definite historical counterparts.Dumas is one of the best authors when it comes to historical fiction.

Summary: The Three Musketeers is the BEST Book I have ever read!!!
Review: The Three Musketeers is another awesome creation by Alexandre Dumas. It stars a young Frenchman, named D'artagnan, and his three friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis. Together they encounter many plots of Cardinal Richeliu, help out the Queen recover some diamond tags, fight numerous duels, and meet the evil woman named Lady de Winter. This book is full of adventure and thrill and will keep you reading anywhere you are. I read the unabridged version in 17 days while backpacking long days in the North Cascades. When you finish, you are craving more adventure and more of Alexandre Dumas' writings.

Summary: An excellent, but somewhat long, book...
Review: The characters are extremely interesting as is the story. I especially like Milady. She is so absolutely evil, but there is just something about her that makes me want to root for her in certain situations. D'Artagnan and his friends Athos, Porthos, and Aramis are also very likable, as they will keep their words as gentlemen even for their enemy the Cardinal. Read this book. It's good and it's easy to understand, just a little long. It took me almost four weeks of reading everyday just to finish, but in the end, it's more than worth the time.

Summary: Great book! A must read!
Review: This book was one of the most captivating adventure tales I've ever read. It follows the adventures of the four french musketeers (well, three of them are musketeers to start off with): Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and d'Artanagan. The book is filled with swashbuckling action, government and court intriuge, and new plot twists at every turn. It paints a wonderful picture of life in past times, set in the colorful world of post-medieval France. Although young d'Artanagan is the hero of this book, the other characters are just as well portrayed. I particuarly liked Athos: his combonation of nobleness, military genius, sorrow, bitterness, thoughtfulness and mystery made me want to skip ahead to his parts of the book. All in all, this was a wonderful read, and a classic for anyone who loves adventure stories. I could find no qualms with this book, except that it did not keep going. Go out and buy it now! You won't be disappointed. All for one, and one for all!

Summary: wonderful
Review: This book is wonderful and funny. It was detailed and very amusing. Although I thought D'Artagnan was annoying. He was chasing Milady too much and he was stubborn. Well, anyway, I thought this book was great. Everyone should read it.

Summary: Excellent, but you have to know a little French...
Review: After seeing the Disney movie, I knew I had to read this book. I had watched the movie in my French class during a lesson on Alexandre Dumas. I read the book, and, even though the movie isn't much like it, I loved it. I like Dumas' informal style, but the translation is a little rough, and without a basic knowledge of French, you could be very confused about some phrasing. Other than that, it's a great book, and everyone should read it.

Summary: A well weaved tale of friends against unbelievable odds
Review: The Three Musketeers, is an intriuging tale of 17th century france. It has absolutly everything, love, mystery, action, and more. While the ending is a bit saddening every time I read it, there is justice served in the end. I have read it no less than three times and can say I never tire of it. It's one of the few books that I can pick up and find the time to read and finish in three days. It is so fresh and new every time I read it, that it keeps me up into the early hours of the morning, I simply can't put it down.

Summary: My all-time favorite
Review: I LOVE this book! When I was 11, I wanted my mom to get me some book that I wanted to read, and she agreed, as long as she got to pick out a book for me to read as well. That book that I'd wanted has been long forgotten, but I'm now on my third copy of The Three Musketeers; the first two have fallen apart from so many readings. I read this book in a week (quite a feat, for an 11-year-old!), and I never looked back. I've been reading it ever since. Whenever I finish, I turn right back to the beginning and start again. And every time I read it, I like it more than before. I'm 19 now, and I can't even describe what an impact this book has had on my life. Whenever I'm lonely or stressed, I pull out my dog-eared copy and turn to a favorite passage (The Saint-Gervais Bastion comes to mind) and before I know it, I feel ready to face anything that life throws at me. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Don't be thrown off by its length or language. (I recommend the translation by Eleanor Hochman--it's VERY easy to read, without all the "thee"s and "thou"s. Just modern English.) It's the most enjoyable book I've ever read. And, when you're done, find 20 Years After and Man in the Iron Mask. (Don't see the movie. It's nothing like the book.) Enjoy!
