Summary: Great little self help book.
Review: It tells about everyday things and royal situations. Great for all princesses!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Fun, but Unsubstantial : A Quick One- Afternoon Read
Review: Okay, Meg Cabot has definitely won herself a nice cozy place atop the literary-must-be-read authors, but Princess Lessons is less of the novel I had expected (in fact, its not a novel at all) and more an feel-good/look-good book for teens.

So some of the stuff is cute and fun to read with commentary from our favorite Princess Diary characters and with some definite hints about Prince Rene's involvement in further novels (hello, he's like her cousin! excuse me, but please don't set Mia up with him!)

...

So, three stars because it did have some fun stuff in it, but had nothing substantial for a reader to feast upon.

Happy Reading!

Summary: Quick and enjoyable (but optional) addition to the series
Review: Princess Lessons is to the Princess Diaries books as the Harry Potter Schoolbooks are to the Harry Potter series: a quick read that is both entertaining and enjoyable, but not plot-advancing or groundbreaking. And that's okay.

This book is clearly aimed at the young teen and pre-teen audience that has formed around the Princess Diaries series. In addition to the fun humor that we've come to expect from Meg Cabot, there are some not-so-subtle bits of guidance that older readers will spot immediately. It seems very well directed for the younger readers, though, and is good advice. For instance, the overriding theme of the book is that it never hurts to behave like a princess even if you aren't one, and it's most important to be yourself.

The book includes practical advice on health, beauty, and clothes, though it should, of course, be taken with a grain of salt, coming as it does from the characters Paolo, Grandmere, and Sebastiano.

The light feel is complemented by the illustrations, which are charmingly stylistic and make good use of the two-color layouts. Many books of this type and length leave readers annoyed at the lack of substance, but Princess Lessons uses its format well and will be much enjoyed as a quick, fun read by the young fans of the series.

Summary: A Quick Read and a Creative Book
Review: Princess Lessons, a book that is part of the Princess Diaries series was a creative way for Meg Cabot to get young girls looking, feeling and acting their best. I felt that it was inadvertantly written as a book for manners rather than a Princess Diaries book and that is why I gave it three stars and not five. I also thought that through this book, Meg Cabot was trying to further promote the Princess Diaries series. It was cute, but certainly not worth the price paid!
This was a pretty good book, but certainly was not long enough. I did like the cute pink cover and the crown on the front, though I felt it was written for a lower age group than intended.

Summary: Actually Useful Tips!
Review: There are several points I need to tell you about concerning this book.
One, all of my favorite characters return in this guide, each giving there own unique advice. Example, Paulo and Sebastiano are back. If you do not know who Sebastiano is, keep on reading the regular series.
Two, Meg Cabot has writen each chapter like as if the advice giver were really speaking. Example, somtimes Sebastiano forgets the last sylable of a word. Again, if you do not know who this man is, keep reading the regular series.
This is all I have to say for now, but look for me in the future.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!!! VERY HELPFUL!!!
Review: This book is cool. After i started reading it i got my own tiara and wanted to become a REAL princess (too bad that's NEVER gonna happen!) So anyway... i love the advice and i totally disagree with Mia's hating being a princess so much b/c i'd be SOOO excited if i had the oppertunity to be a princess. Well... what i'm trying to say is that this is a really good book. I gotta go now!!!

Summary: For all princesses-in-training
Review: This book is great. It's not just a manners book, so don't let that scare you off. It's got all kinds of advice, from the PD characters themselves.

Such as, in Talk Like a Princess the advice includes: Do not gossip: When you have just met a new person, it isn't smart to ask him something like "Did you hear about the countess and Prince Rene?" because he might reply, "No, the countess is my wife. What about her and Prince Rene?" Suddenly, you will feel very uncomfortable.

It's funny, cause that's from the book. But also makes the point!

And the book makes you feel good about yourself, too. Like when Paolo, who did Mia's makeover, says: "Everyone is coming to Paolo, crying like a baby: Oh my hair is curly! Make it straight! Principessas have the straight hair!" Well, I, Paolo, would like to say something. Principessas can have curly hair. Principessas can have straight hair. Principessas can have blond hair. Principessas may have cornrows, extensions, crew cuts, and dreads.

And then he tells you how to really have hair of a true principessa (like being clean and low-maintenance.)

And there's a funny interview with Michael, Lana's tips for extracurricular activities and.... lots more. This would be a great gift for any girl!

Summary: funny
Review: this book was the funniest book in the series. the part with sebastino talking about how one should look was the best. the part with the dowager princess (grandmother)talking about how one should hold thier posture was great. it was really good and i suggest u read it. the only reason why i gave it 4 stars was because it kinda got a bit boring towards the end but then soon got better.

Summary: Maners for Princesses from the whole gang
Review: This is a book of maner for princesses, but dont let that deter you from buying this book. You get fashion tips from Sepastino and hair tips from Paolo, also and exclusevly funny interveiw with Michael M. also with commentary my Mia Thermopolis, and an "appearence" by Lana, Hank Thermopolis and Prince Rene. This was a fun book to read, with refreshing views of society and character.I read this book in one afternoon (about 1 & 1/2 hrs.) and thought it a nice read and a cute addition to the Princess Diaries series.
