Rating: Summary: GUTS Review: GUTS 5th grade student. The book I read was the best book I had ever read, because it had deer hunting in it and dog sleding. The part I liked in it was when Gary Paulsen had a Cow Moose knock him off his sled in the middle of the Ididarod. I also liked it when he shot a 200 pound deer and had carry it 5 miles to his house. It was scary when he thought a Bull Moose was going to charge him but but it wasn't.
Rating: Summary: Guts Review: Guts a true book by Gary Paulsen. It is a good book. I would rate it five stars. If you're going to read it you're not going to just like it you'll love it.It takes in a lot of states like the Iditarod in Alaska. Well if you're going through this year and don't read it you'll never forgive yourself.
Rating: Summary: Guts Never Looked So Good!!!!! mmmmm guts...i love guts Review: Guts is a different kind of book that tells about some of the tragedies seen by Gary Paulsen and gave him the Ideas for some of his books. It talks about moose attacks, what kind of food he has had to eat to survive, and lots of other things. I liked this book alot and recomend It to people who are interested in books on survival.
Rating: Summary: Guts Forever! Review: Guts is a really good book about a really good authors life. It tells how he was a paramedic in a very unoccupied area, and he saw so many people die. He also had some encounters with animals.Once he got attacked by a moose even though he had a gun. Another time his sled-dogs got attacked by a moose when he was resting up for the Iditarod in Alsaka. And once he got attacked by a cow moose when he was trainng for the Iditarod. He also leaned to hunt to live, instead of to have fun. Guts is a very good book, and you should read it. Probably the most significant part is all the stories of life-and-death situations. Although this is a good book and eventually you should read it, I would suggest waiting until you're about nine years old, or at least not reading it at night, because of some of the gorier parts.
Rating: Summary: Guts Review: Guts is a wonderful book. It may have been one of the best books I have ever read. It had a few flaws but not enough to make it a bad book. It would be great for any 11 or 12 year old it has a lot of excerts of the Brian books. I thought you should read the Brian books and Dogsong before you read Guts. It should be longer actually may be a series or even a movie.
Rating: Summary: Guts Review: Guts was kindof like an autobiography of Gary Paulson. In Guts Gary Paulson describes what inspired him to write Hatchet and all of the other Brian Books. I think this book was OK because some of the storys that Gary told got boring. I also think Gary should have made his book as one continues story and not break it into different sections. Each section makes it so the book jumps around in different times in his life. It is also hard to believe that Gary could do that many jobs and live through that many adventures and still be alive today (EMT, Bobsledding, hunting, and eating some of the stuff that he ate). I wouldn't reccomend this book to that many people
Rating: Summary: guts Review: I have just read this book for a in school class assignment and I had my mind on the book when I home after school. This book was very interesting, I would read it many other times out of school. So i would recomended to people who like the wilderness.
Rating: Summary: Exciting as SIGHTS or HOLES. Review: I like books with excitement and strange characters, like HOLES by Louis Sachar and SIGHTS by Susanna Vance. This book was just as good, fast moving and exciting.
Rating: Summary: "Guts" is a must-read for Paulsen fans and anyone else Review: I started reading this book the day it came in the mail and couldn't put it down! I read the entire book in one sitting. In this book, Paulsen describes way more details than in his "Hatchet" series. It is very interesting how he got his information to make "Hatchet" very authentic, from being an ambulance driver, being in the air force, being in the Iditarod, flying planes, being attacked by animals, and having an exciting childhood. One thing I learned about Paulsen that I didn't know before was why and how he learned, as a boy, to be a survivor. You will have to read the book yourself to find this out. It is pretty amazing how he survived some of his experiences, all of which helped make the "Hatchet" series so captivating. Now I know why "Hatchet" has been my favorite book for such a long time. I think anyone would enjoy reading "Guts" by Gary Paulsen.
