If his baby sister dies, Branwell may be charged with manslaugter. Connor is trying to solve the mystery of who hurt the baby and the mystery of why Branwell won't talk. Branwell and Conner communicate silently with the cards Conner made. This book has twists and turns and keeps you guessing till the very end. "Silent to the bone" is an original book and well thought out. This is a great book and a good mystery. It is wonderful how Conner tells the story. I can always imagine what is happening and how they feel because of the details. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: The Silent one Strikes
Review: Branwell is wrongly accussed of severly hurting his baby sister, and it is up to his best friend from school to help him break the lock of silence. But did he really do it?
Silent to the Bone is a book with a mystery right behind the corner. After I finished it, there were questoins I still try to answer, like: Did Branwell's sister eventually get better or worse? Whatever happened to Branwell when his friend wasn't there with him?
I gave this book 5 stars because it is comical but yet you are in a lot of suspense. If you read Silent to the Bone, you'll be glad you did.

Summary: Interesting
Review: This story centers around a mystery in which newborn baby Nikki is left in a coma, and her half brother, Branwell, is put in a detention center, but not charged (yet) for the crime. He has not talked since that day.
Connor, Branwell's best friend, is trusted to go to the detention center, and try his best to get Branwell to talk about the accident...or, in that case, talk about anything.
The two develop a way of speaking, (blinking and using flashcards) and Connor pieces together the mystery, to find hte true culprit behind the tragedy.
E.L. Konigsburg spins a wonderful tale of love, detective work, and sadness. She backs up her already strong plot with even stronger characters, and keeps you on the edge of your seat, and your nails bitten, to the very last page.
The only flaw in this story is it's length; Konigsburg could have easily ended the story 10 or 15 pages before she did.
This is a great book; I reccomend it if you enjoy modern-day suspense and well detailed characters.

Summary: 4 1/2 WOW! GREAT MYSTERY!!!
Review: This book was suspense filled, it was a shocker, it's not going to get out of your hands until you've read every last word.

Connor's friend, Branwell's, little sister is hurt. The 911 call (on the back cover) shows a usually talkative Branwell stays silent, while a female British voice explains that he dropped little Nikki. When he goes to the Behavoir place, he stays silent for about 20 days. This mystery, not led by your typical Sherlock & Watson (13-year-old & half-sister), takes many twists & turns, guided by a guy who isn't even speaking.

I give this 4 1/2 stars instead of five because I got confused during the first parts. Otherwise, you simply should pick up this page-turning mystery/occasionaly humorous book right away. No, really. Now.

Summary: Another Great Read! by Rachel
Review: Silent to the bone by E.L. Konigsburg is about a boy named Branwell who is accused of hurting his little sister, Nikki, and is sent to a Behavior Center. One of the few people who believe that Branwell didn't hurt Nikki is Branwell's best friend, Conner. Conner goes about finding clues that will help him prove Branwell's innocence.
When I first read the title, I got the impression that this was a scary story. As I read the summary on the back of it, the book became more interesting to me, and I became more curious about the plot. Then I read it. I couldn't stop reading! As I read Silent To The Bone, I gathered clues along with Conner. I felt like a detective.
I would reccommend this book for mature audiences, 12 and older. This book contains some questionable content, but it doesn't take anything away from this great book. If you like mystery or law, you will enjoy Silent To The Bone.

Summary: Silent to the Bone
Review: THE FIRST DAY: Branwell Zamborska is struck dumb after his baby sister Nikki has fallen into a coma. He calls his au pair' Vivian into the room, but she does not come. 'What to do?' he wondersWell, he does what most people will do when a loved one is suffering. That is call 911. The only problem is that when the operator asks him what the problem is, he doesn't answer. Why? Who knows. Vivian yanks the phone out of his hands and gives the baby to him. She tells the operator she was in the other room when she came in and found him shaking the baby. The baby is took to Clarion County Hospital where as Branwell is took to Clarion County Juvenile Detention Center. This book revolves around how Connor (Branwell's best friend) finds a way to communicate with Branwell, why the baby is in a coma, and what really happened on November 23, at 2:43p.m. without speaking to him

Summary: Forget the title...read the book!
Review: I thought the cover of this book and the title did it a great disservice. I owned it for quite awhile before reading it. After reading it, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. I actually recommended it to our book group that has a combination of adults and kids. This is an intelligent, interesting, thought provoking book with a very cool plot and great characters. The reviews I've read make me wonder if people actually read the book...read it completely. It is a great mystery/whodoneit!

Summary: Good book...weak ending.
Review: Silent to the Bone was a good book. I couldn't put it down, but the ending, in a way, was kinda perdictible. When I reached the end, I was kinda upset of how it turned out. If there was a sequel to this book, I would probably buy it. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read it.

Summary: If you like a thick plot, then open up this book
Review: I am a fifteen year old reader and I thought this book was excellent. It has great characters and great suspense. This book is on my top ten list. The accused victim Branwell has been charged for something he didn't do and it is up to his best friend to figure out the real truth. I can relate this book to teenager life so easily, always getting blamed on something you didn't do. You have to pick up this book and read it, if you don't then you are going to miss out on the best book E.L. Konigsburg has written.

Summary: My Review; by a Frankford Student.
Review: When I heard about the book "Silent to the Bone", I thought it sounded quite interesting, and decided to read it. This bok is for young adults. It is about a 13 year old boy named Branwell who is accused of seriously injuring his infant sister, Nikki. His best friend Connor is determined to help out his friend and figure out who really injured Nikki. There is only one problem, Branwell goes silent, and refuses to speak about what actually happened. Although, him and Connor still figure out a way of communicating. I believe the theme of this book is, silence is an art. Branwell was smart not to say anything and let Connor ask all the questions. He thought that if he didn't say anything at all, you can't say anything wrong. Overall, This book wasn't as exciting as I expected it to be, and it wasn't challenging to read at all. Although, there were some humorous characters such as Connor, and there were sad times as well. For example, when Branwell's father gets remarried he neglects Branwell. This book really kept me guessing the real criminal who injured Nikki was. I would reccomend this book to people who like books with suspense.
