Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: Now a full mage, Lady Sandrilene fa Toren is faced with a challenge unlike any other. She notices a boy dancing in a net, and can see the magic coursing through it. When she tells him this, he is completely incredulous. This boy, Pasco Acalon, is from a family of harrier, or police, mages. He knows that they will make fun of him for having such a girlish skill. When she finally convinces him of his talents, he has to begin training immediately. The heads of a noble house's leaders have been showing up throughout the city. Eventually, he learns that he must stop the murderers, and the mage that helps them, before it is too late.
Rating: Summary: I like it, I love it, I want more of it Review: Great book, but I missed the other characters! I find it difficult to imagine any of the characters without their counterparts, and while Sandry is my favorite character, she seems to flounder without Briar, Daja, and Tris. I hoped to have them reunite at least at the end, but it turns out that they probably won't be reuiniting for a while--it's darkly hinted at the end of the book, but I'll leave for you how that comes about :) Pasco is a delightful character, and he and Sandry make an amusing pair, but I think the author was trying to keep Briar's general character in Pasco as the scenes between Briar and Sandry in previous books are the best yet. Hopefully, we'll get to see the four of them reunite soon.
Rating: Summary: Dissapointing Review: I lovedlovedLOVED the COM books, and I have been waiting for ages for the sequels to come out. Unfortunately, I was sorely dissapointed. This books is so short! It almost seems as if Tammy couldn't be bothered to write it - perhaps she was recovering from Squire - or perhaps she has a new over-zealous editor. The Circle of Magic books were all about character, which is one of the things Tammy is best at. They were exciting and pacey enough to keep you reading, but there was time for just joking among friends and stuff too. Pasco wasn't developed at all as far as I could tell. Still, it was nice to see Sandry again, and I look forward to the others in the series. Hopefully they'll be better, because up until now, Tammy has been a consistantly great writer.
Rating: Summary: Loved it. Review: I loved Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic. Since this sorta continues it I loved this book too (have yet to read Street Magic). I think Brair and Sandry should get together. A little romance would (in my opinion) make this series a little more interesting, not that it is not interesting on it's own.
Rating: Summary: Definitly not worth the time... Review: Although the last few chapters of this book were very good, I can't say I liked it over all. It takes a long time for the story to get started and once it is started, it drags on very slowly. It adds many pointless details that make it drag on longer. Also, the main character has almost no personality. She handles situations too calmly for her to be real. Even though you will probably enjoy the end of this book, it isn't worth the time it takes getting there.
Rating: Summary: better than the Circle of Magic books Review: me and all my friends are huge friends of tamora pierce. we adored her tortall books(we own them all) and were actually somewhat disapointed with her circle of magic series. we were very glad that pierce decided to write another series on sandry, tris, daja, and briar. this book is better in several ways, but the one i really liked was that it focused on only one of them. when pierce wrote the circle of magic books, i think that the fact that she focused on four people instead of one messed things up. this was a definite improvement and I look forward to the next three
Rating: Summary: an excelent book, but not for everyone. Review: This book continues the story of Sandry, one of the four mages that were in the first books. Sandry is taking care of her uncle, who just had a heart attack, when she sees a young boy that seemed to be dancing magic. She finds out from her old teacher that because she found out about the boy's magic, she must teach him the basics of magic. While Sandry is finding all this out, a mysterious murder takes place. Nobody knows how the murderer got away with it, because none of the magical alarms went off, and none of the guards saw or heard anything. Sandry finds out that only her and her student can stop the murderers, and it will be incredibly hard. This book is amazing, but it can be very grusome at times, so it might not be the best book for everyone.
Rating: Summary: Magic Steps Review: This book is about Saundry, the same charecter that is in the Circle of Magic Quartet. She is staying with her uncle, the Duke because he just had a heart attack. There are some murderers, using magic that are trying to whip out a certain family. It is up to Saundry to stop them. This is an action packed book, I highly recomment it!
Rating: Summary: An Awesomely Awesome Fantasticly fantastic fantasy book!! Review: Tamora Pierce has really out done herself with details this time! This book, Magic Steps, was very suspenseful and exciting, but when someone was injured or killed even, she went into great detail. Whether about the salty stench of blood or the way the bodies of victims were left by their murderers, strewn about in chopped up pieces. This may be a reason why some people with weak stomachs would not want to read this book, but the reasons to read it out way the reasons not to.So, you should definitely consider reading it. Now I will briefly describe the story line so you can make a final decision : To Read? Or Not To Read? Magic Steps is about a girl named Sandralene Fa Toren who has recently graduated out of the Winding Circle magic school. She is now living with her Great Uncle Duke Vedris because of his heart attack which happened just a few short months ago. She is determined to keep him out of harms way until he is fully healed. While out on a morning ride with her uncle, Lady Sandry spies a boy of about her age, maybe a little taller than her, with brown curly hair and tan skin who is dancing around a net on the beach, his name was Pasco. She eventually discovers his magic and becomes his teacher. While this is going on, there are a few murders in a local merchant family and Lady Sandry gets wrapped up in this investigation and soon finds that she and Pasco are the only ones who, joined with some head mages, can save the rest of the merchant family and catch the killers. If you are interested in finding out how, read Magic Steps by Tamora Pierce.
Rating: Summary: Sandry , helping others do magic just as Lark helped her!!! Review: This is a great book. Tamora Peirce just keeps making great books. She's on a role. Even thow Magic Steps wasn't as good as Street Magic . This book introduces all the new characters very well and picks up were the Circle of Magic quartet left off. This book is just as outstanding as all the others! Bye,bye
