Rating: Summary: What a boy needs, what a boy wants Review: I ordered A New Ladies' Man the day it came out. I started reading it at night and I brought it to school and finished it during class when I should have been studying. I got many odd looks for all the laughing I was doing in class. Since then I have passed the book on to four other people who also love it, only one of them has been a boy so far but the ladies just love the book and won't share! I have suggested someone else pick up another copy so that they can get in better circulation. Let me just finish up by saying this is one of the best books that I have ever read. Being a girl, I am often confused as to what is going on in the male mind, sometimes even in my own mind. This book cleared up a lot of misconceptions for me and has helped me figure out why guys do some of the things they do.
Rating: Summary: One Word... Amazing! Review: I ordered this book after perusing Colin Mortensen's website. I enjoyed reading his humorous postings and became a frequent visitor. When the book came out, even though it seemed to be written for men, I ordered a copy myself (me, being a 21 year old female). I wasn't sure what to expect when I received the book. Honestly, I didn't think a 23 year old would have much expertise to offer on the idea of relationships. However, I was pleasantly surprised after the first couple of pages. Mortensen offers the kind of advice young men need, in my opinion. He teaches how to treat women the right way. In doing this, they become a "Ladies' Man". In a world where young men are taught to be macho and rather unaware of the needs of the opposite sex, this book is a necessity. It will reach young men by being blatantly honest and truly funny. Young women will appreciate the sincerity and chivalrous nature of Mortensen. Speaking for myself, it gives women new hope. This is a work of brilliance!
Rating: Summary: Moving! Hilarious! Educational! Original! Pleasant!!!!!!!!!! Review: I ordered this fine tome (i.e. book) after reading the review by Nicholas Jagdeo from San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago. (Parenthetically, before I go on, I would like to relay to Mr. Jagdeo to please rest assured your review was helpful to me. I clicked YES in response to "Was this review helpful to you?" but my vote has not yet "appeared" on the "product page." I hope it shows up soon. This is America. Every vote should be counted. What is this, Florida? Does "Amazon" need a recall? lol j/k That's why I am mentioning it here so Mr. Jagdeo gets the proper feedback. The esteemed Mr. Mortensen should send Mr. Jagdeo a sales commission, his review being so persuasive. If you're ever in Santa Cucamonga, please look me up Nicholas, if I may be so familiar. I could use a man of your talent in an environmentally conscious money making AD-venture that will be hitting the province soon.)

Rating: Summary: Terrific Read Review: I read A New Ladies' Man and I must say it is one of the best books I have ever read. Mortensen's voice really came through in his writing, which made his book and his message very personal. I would have liked A New Ladies' Man for the humor alone, however what made the book spectacular, and worth suggesting to others, was the underlying message about the socialization of males and females and how it can make relationships confusing and complicated. This book really struck a cord with me. Mortensen is a breath of fresh air in a literary world full of rhetoric.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: I read the book cover to cover in one sitting and found myself laughing out loud at the choice of analogies. The book is for a young guys. Young guys will completely understand the language, the direction and the vibe of this book. He wastes no time on scientific or biologicial information about men and women, as young guys can learn that (or ignore that) in 8th grade. This book offers useful and clever insight on the dynamic between young men and women in that pivotal stage between adolescence and young adulthood. It's valuable because it's not parental language. It's not doctor language. It's language that a guy understands. No young guy wants to ask a parent or professional about what to do with a "dance floor boner" so this book alleviates that issue with humor and candor. Guys, if you need answers to the questions you're scared to ask, read this book. Also the cover shouldn't deter you. It doesn't look like a self-help book at all. There are no cheesy pictures or embarrassing taglines. The cover is as brilliant as the content -- so simple you'll wonder why it took this long for the message to be known.

Rating: Summary: Comforting. Review: I recently purchased A New Ladies' Man at a lecture that Colin Mortensen gave at FIT (The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York). I must say that it is a great book. Colin addresses topics that people are uncomfortable speaking about and somehow he finds a way to make the material humorous and informative in a very comforting way. I feel like if every guy/girl in America read this book then all my girlfriends-who are currently boyfriendless-wouldn't have a problem finding cool guys that aren't jerks. Well I enjoyed the book (that my boyfriend will be reading, thank god) and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
