Rating: Summary: A touching story of growth Review: Creech does a wonderful job of telling the story of Cody, Sophie, and their family as they make the difficult journey across the Atlantic in a sailboat. Written with confidence the alternating first person narrations works extremely well as we see both the inner-turmoil that each of the characters face as well as how events were pecieved by another. Occasionally telling the story of Bompie, the grandparent they are going to visit, the whole book is written with wonderful language and imagery with numerous suspensful moments that help to keep the reader involved throughout the story. Capturing the feelings of these adolsencents well this is a book that would be better served by a different cover as boy should enjoy this book as much as girls.
Rating: Summary: A Typical Sharon Creech Review: The main character learns a lot about love and trust on a small boat across the ocean with her family. It was fun to read, full of exploration, and had some inspiring quotes and themes. Although this was a worthwile book, it didn't seem to beg me to pick it up (instead, I grudgingly sat down to read it every few days)...Unlike "Walk 2 Moons", "The Wanderer" lacks excitement, love and connections, humor, and a satisfying conclusion.
Rating: Summary: The Wanderer Review: The wanderer is a fantastic book. It is about a young girl named sophie, who decides to go on a boat ride with her 2 cousins and 3 uncles. During the ride they stop at many different places, and learn different lessons. the encounter problems and have arguments but some how they get through it. The sea always called sophie.I think this was a great book it has adventure and keeps you hocked on it. This is one of my favorite books.

Rating: Summary: The Wanderer Review: Dear reader,I am a fifth grade student and I enjoyed Sharon Creeh's book the Wanderer. The Wanderer is almost the best book I've ever read. My favorite part of the Wanderer is where Sophie and Cody are under a huge wave and they were both thinking the same thing. I would highly recomend this book to anyone. You will have to read the book to find out what else happens.

They sailed from Conneticut to Grand Manan and on there way to Nava Scotia a huge white foam wave went over the ship and nobody could see it coming because it was so foggie and then the wave hit and Sophie coudn't find Dock or Cody. So does she find them or did they go overboard? You'll have to find out.
