Rating: Summary: Briar's Book Review: This book was an excellent conclusion to the Circle of Magic seris. I'm reading the first book of the continuation seris(The Circle Opens), Magic Steps. I can't wait to read the rest! Tamora Pierce is brilliant! She weaves magic into books like Sandry! I hope the story of Sandry, Tris, Daja and Briar does not end anytime soon.
Rating: Summary: thats my boy! Review: When i read sandys book i couldnt stop reading, then i finally got all the way to briars book. Once you get started with these books you can just put them down, you have to keep reading they get you glued. Anywho, briar and rosethorn are going to the mire and they end up discovering a plague has hit. Turns out this "mage" that made the disease was trying to make something that helps your body, (youll have to read the book to find out what), when briar finds out that his friend flick ends up having this "disease" he calls rosethorn to help him get her to urdas house. but only to find out that they cant return home for a while cause they are Quarintined. tume goes bye and his unfortunate friend ends up dying (poor girl :(..), and to find out that his teacher is falling ill, what to do? he calls tris who bings his shakaan to help rosethorn along with some other of her garden. she gets better, she had forgotten that living plants help her.... they end up being able to go home and find a cure fot this diseaese when voila rosethorn ends up getting infected with it! so now its up to briar and crane to help her. and just before she "almost" ends up dying (actually she does) he grabs her just before she was hopelessly gone!, with his and his mates magick they end up saving her, though she has a sluurred speech. in the end he helps yet another person, from peril,... "thats my boy" you can hear rosethorn tell him silently , and yes hes and his mates have yet another adventure complete.
Rating: Summary: Briar's Big Challenge Review: Briar, the sole male member of discipline, has always possessed a great talent when it comes to plant magic. He learns how to develop his gifts with Rosethorn, his teacher, but he still remembers his past on the streets. But he has no idea that one day his connection to the streets will bring him in contact with a more powerful enemy than ever before. When one of his street friends catches a deadly virus Briar and Rosethorn are put to the test. As the disease spreads everyone at Winding Circle temple is tested. For the first time since the four children met each other, they are forced apart for a prolonged period of time. Briar and Rosethron are busy treating the disease, and more importantly, trying to identify it. Sandry, Lark, Daja, Frostpipe, Niko and Tris are working hard back at Winding Circle. But will all their hard work be enough? Can they find a cure? And what will happen when something shocking happens to one of the series most beloved characters?Briar's book, the fourth and final book in the series, is one of the greatest. Briar's always been one of my favorite characters, next to Tris. I was excited in seeing him star in his own book. Just like the rest of the books in the series Briar's book is filled with wonderful characters and character development, a fast paced plot, and wonderful setting. If you're a fan of the Circle of Magic series read this book to see how everything ends. I recommend this to Tamora Pierce fans and fans of the series. You'll love this one as much as I did.
Rating: Summary: Why is everyone getting sick? Review: This book was a great book in this series. Briar is the main character and he a Rosethorn have to find out why all the people in the town are getting a highly contagious disease. Briar's friend is one of the people that get it ( not one of the girls) yet she is on the street and could be one of the problems. Latter they find out the rich are getting sick too. All of these people are dying very fast and they can not seem to find the source of the problem. Soon Rosethorn is sick too! So Briar has to manage taking care of many people and it is mainly up to him to find out what the disease is and where it came from. Read this book to find the surprising and amazing end!
Rating: Summary: Tamora Pierce has done it again! Review: This is one of the BEST books, in my opinion, that Tamora Pierce has written! The story was well thought out, and has very vivid words that decribe the mood and setting. In the whole Circle of Magic series, I would have to say that this book is my favorite one. If you like books with magic and adventure, then this book is definitly for you!
Rating: Summary: A sad and wonderful book Review: Tamora Pierce has done it again! This book has made me cry it was soooo good (even though I hate sad books.) I started out reading the first book in this series and it made me read the second book and went on a rampage! I kept on reading and reading and I finaly finished it all! but,I needed more...(I hope she writes another one.) This book is great for all ages!!!!
Rating: Summary: WHY?? Review: Okay, I read the whole series because I love Tamora Pierce, and i can understand watned to try something new, but this was TERRIBLE! The whole series was just TERRIBLE! The same plot through all four books, the worst plot in all cases, and the ending was predictable. I felt that the Tortall series, all of them, were much MUCH more woth the read. Flames to this review are welcome, but I'm only trying to help.
Rating: Summary: Mixing medicine and magic Review: I happened upon the "Circle of Magic" quatrain in my local library after hearing the librarian mention that people who liked Harry Potter tended to enjoy these books as well. I enjoyed the whole initial concept of craft magics in the first few books and Pierce's generally excellent exploration of how the magics worked, independently and in concert. "Briar's Book" has a much more serious tone than the other books in the series: as a research biologist, I was very interested to read Pierce's portrayal of a large-scale laboratory with a highly focussed research project (really quite accurate!) and highlighting the messages of "Don't drop possibly biohazardous materials in the sewers" and "Wear several levels of protection when working with a known hazardous material" - perhaps not messages that her average-age reader will appreciate, but important nonetheless. Oh yeah - and the story and characters were excellent too.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!!!! Review: If you are into fantasy and magical stories, this book is for you! this book is one of four in the Immortals seiries, and i would recommend reading the other two before this one, because they go together. I didn't put this book down, and im spending all my free time reading it, it is a very interesting book about a young girl learning about the "Wild magic" that she has i highly recommend this book to all ages!!!
