Summary: The Hero and the Crown is a must-read!
Review: I love this book. Five years after I first discovered Robin McKinley, I'm still a very avid reader and big fan. For those of you looking for a story with strong females, The Hero and the Crown is great. One of its strengths is how McKinley has told an epic tale and gives readers a strong, smart heroine, rather than a hero. Aerin is truly one of those "girls who do things". Some don't care too much for McKinley's writing, but I find it enthrallling.

Summary: This is one of my favorite books!
Review: Robin McKinley is a very talented writer that can really weave interesting, involved tales. I like this book because the main character (Aerin) is very personable. She is very realistic and I felt almost as if she were in the room with me. I also like the fact that she knows what is right and she acted upon it. She saves many lives, even though she knows that she is risking her life, and exhibits true courage, even though she doesn't have an incredible amount of assets. I think that the creativity is incredible in this book. Robin McKinley has a skill for picking out the ordinary and turning it into the extraordinary. I would strongly advise that anyone who is into fantasy should read this book. It is complex, varied, and is an excellent piece of work.

Summary: Good.
Review: I liked this book a lot, though I'm not sure if I liked it as much as The Blue Sword. I loved the begining, and the way it just drops you in and tells the story in flashbacks for basically the whole of Part One. I loved that first part, how it told of Aerin's childhood, and how she learns to swordfight and to ride. I can sympathize with how she was clumsy and such, and I loved how Tor always helped her when she needed it. I didn't quite like Part Two as much, I'm not sure why. It just seemed to drag on at some parts and then other parts seemed a bit rushed. That's why I didn't give it a full 5. But it's still a good book, and I really like Aerin. Perhaps even more than I liked Harry in Blue Sword.

Review: This is an excellent book! It kept my attention until 3:00 in the morning when I finished it. I gives a person that satisfied feeling. No complaints. 12 yrs. old.

The beginning was a little confusing because it told you about things without explaining, but it told you enough to make you want to understand the rest, which made my want to keep reading. It has strong characters, especially Aerin. I loved Luthe and wish I knew more about his past. That would make a great book!! Mrs. McKinley should tell the story of Luthe. Anyway this was a great book and excellent for anyone who likes book about places that only exist in the imagination!! I highly recommend it.

Summary: One of my all-time favorites
Review: This was the first Robin McKinley book I read (and reread, and reread again, and again..) and even now 10 or so years later it shares a place on my bookshelf along with the Narnia books, the Odysessy and assorted college text books!

Review: A wonderfully original adventure, poignant, thrilling, and powerfully emotional. From the dog-sized dragons to the two loves of Aerin's life, everything is believable and nothing is predictable. Aerin is a very sympathetic heroine, witty, stubborn, and brave, and all the characters are vivid and three dimensional. (With the possible exception of Goriolo, who is more a figure out of nightmare.) This is an unforgettable story that holds up just as well now as when I first read it as teenager.

Review: This book was great- I loved it! You couldn't put it down. My only problem was all the names- there were so many of them I sometimes got confused and forgot who was who. But if you just go with the flow- it's great!
