Rating: Summary: Stuck in Neutral Review Review: In the book Stuck in Neutral is about a boy named Shawn who has cerebral palsy and he can remeber everything everyone has said. He can not communicate with his family in any way, he can't even move. His dad doesn't know how Shawn is feeling or what he is trying to say to him, so he leaves Shawn, his mom, his sister Cindy, and his brother Paul, and they are left with the job of taking care of Shawn. His dad will come around every once and a while to see how they are doing, but every time he see's Shawn have seizure he feels so sorry for him. When really Shawn is having a lot of fun and freedom. I would recomend this book for people that are more mature then most people because it talks about stuff kids would not get or would thin it was funny.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in Neutral Review: Imagine living in such an intricate world, and never being able to respond to anything around you. That's exactly what Shawn McDaniel, a victim of Cerebral Palsy, has to go through every day. According to Shawn, a day full of seizures, is a typical day for him. When he was born, a tiny blood vessel burst in his brain causing all this damage. Since the vessel burst and wiped out all of his muscle control, he cannot do anything. Despite not being able to do anything for himself, Shawn has had a good fourteen years of life so far. Shawn's good life turns bad when his father interviews Earl Detraux. A man who was convicted of second degree murder of his two-year-old mentally challenged son, Colin. Whenever someone asks him if he really killed his son, he claims that his son was suffering from a terminal inoperable disorder so he wanted to end his suffering. After this occurrence Shawn gets the idea that something terrible is going to happen. Something like his own dad killing him. If you want to find out what happens to Shawn, you should read Stuck in Neutral, by Terry Trueman.
Rating: Summary: Stuck In A Great Book Review: Terrific and exciting, these are the two words that represent this book. The author goes through the mind of Shawn McDaniel who is physically disabled child that has CP. Although nobody knows it Shawn can remember every detail he has ever seen and heard from the age of 2 years old. He can read and comprehend the readings. this is the sadest thing about this book but it gets worse, Shawn thinks that his father is going to kill him. His father hates watching Shawn having a seizure and hates having to see Shawn not being able to control his disability so as shawn thinks his father wants to end his pain by possibly killing him. This is an awesome book and if this review sounds interesting please read this book. It is short and is a great page-turner.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in neutral Review: Stuck in Neutral is very detailed on one boy's life. This boy has many disabilities that stop him from living a normal life. He has on brother and one sister that always show there support. His mother also is very kind but not always there. The dad has been gone for most of the boys life because he couldn't take the preasure. His dad had returned but was not much of the loving father. The boy was in and out of hospitals and the dad was going crazy. They dont really tell you what happens at the end of the book but this book is filled with several emotions. Even the dad shows his emotions. This book I rate 5 stars because for as little as you know the author will pull you in to the book. I would recommend this book to anyone that like mixed emotions.
Rating: Summary: A awesome book called Stuck in Neuttral Review: I beleive Stuck in Neutral is a great book! A short summary of what happens in this story is there is a little boy named Shawn who had ceribral palzie and it looks like he is telling the story but really he cant talk or anything but the story is telling from what he is thinking. Sean gets the feeling his dad wants to kill him throughout the story, and later on his dad goes on a talk show because he is writing a story on a man who got locked up for killing his son who had the same thing which makes Shawn really think he is going to kill him. I recomend this book for anybody who thinks they are mature, i say that because during this story you will find many cuss words and words little childeren or someone imature might not fill comfortable or be able to handle. Does Shawn's dad really want to kill his son? Read this great book and find out!
Rating: Summary: Perspective is everything Review: In the book,"Stuck in Neutral" the boy, Shawn McDaniel, is a boy of 14 who has advanced C.P. He can not move any muscle in his intire body. He wishes he can do things that I myself take for granted everyday, tying my shoe, laughing, sighing, walking, and talking. This book really brings to life of what might be going on inside someones head who might be diagnosed with a disease, that makes you helpless. The story is told from the perspective of Shawn and how he percives the world. The writer really brings to life what it must be like for people to think you are as dumb as a rock, when really you have everything that makes you a great person.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in Neutral Review: In the book Stuck in Neutral it tells about how a teen is faced with a muscle disability which paralyses his whole body. In the book Shawn talks about how his family is like and howw is life is like. But the twist to the story is that his father can't stand Shawn's condition and wants to end his pain. His father is planning to kill Shawn to set him free. He thinks it is out of love that it is the right thing to do. But is it? Is killing someone because of their condition the right thing to do? Well you'll find out at the end of this great book.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in Neutral Review: This was a really good book. It was about a kid that was born with a diability and thinks that his dad is going to kill him. Thoughrout this book you will find the perspective of the kid that is in that position and their perspective of what is going on and what they think. This book will make you realize how lucky most of the people in the world are.
Rating: Summary: Stuck in Neutral Review: I really didn't like this book. It didn't catch my attention and I didn't care much for the ending. I did enjoy how this book took me into a mind of a Mentally Challenged kid. It helped me understand what their parents and them are going through. My favorite part of the book is when Shawn is telling a story about his brother being so protective of him. It kind of reminded me of my brother. I liked how this book explained how they think and so I give this book 3 stars.
Rating: Summary: A Moving Story Review: Stuck in Neutral by Terry Trueman is a compassionate story of a boy named Shawn who has Cerebral Palsy. Shawn cannot move a single muscle in his body. To people he seems like a vegetable, but in his mind, he is a genius. Not only is he smart, he has the world's best memory. From the clues hes obeserved, he thinks that his dad is going to kill him. This book is written in a perspective never seen by the public. I think this book shows that not all mentally challenged are dumb. They need to be treated with respect. I found this book to be very moving.
