Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Use it along with real AP tests
Review: This book is great if you only have a week or so to prepare. If you have more time than that, you should buy both this book and Barron's. I bought several AP Chem books and the Princeton's review was the easiest to read; it also thoroughly reviewed the concepts. Suddenly everything clicked and I wasn't quite so lost. The practice problems in Princeton's were much easier than they were on the real AP test, so I recommend you study this book and look elsewhere for practice tests. You can even get real AP Chem tests from a few years ago.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great Test Tips and Lots of EXPLAINED Practice Problems
Review: This book is not heavy in simple methodology. If you're looking for that, Buy the Barron's AP Chem book. But this book has great test taking tips at the start of the book. It also has many practice problems, with EACH PROBLEM explained in detail. This includes multiple choice, FRQ, and essay questions. This book is a great buy.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent choice for Exam reviewing
Review: This book is wonderful! I received a score of five on my exam (2002), thanks to this book. I recommend you to do a practice exam first (previous years exam question) to have an idea of what's being tested on the exam, what's not. Remember the concept, that's the most important part. Question are similar. Essays on the actual exam is easy, just like the ones in the book. It might seems hard at first, but as you go through each chapter, you will find your confidence along the way. Don't give up! With the help of this book, you can get a five too!!!

Summary: Anyone would truely love this book
Review: This is not the book you should use to really understand the concept of chemistry. However, if you want to get a 5 on the test, this is THE book to review. I loved the last part (the free-response part where you translate the sentence into formula-I can't remeber the name, shoot!) I repeat, this is THE ONLY book worth reading the night before the test.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent - a must-buy for anyone looking to get a 5!
Review: This was a truly amazing book and a highly recommend it for anyone looking to get a 5 on the AP test. The review sections are extremely extensive and concise, giving you only the information you need to get a 5, and nothing more. There is a test at the end of the each chapter, about 15-30 questions long (a perfect lenght) with free response questions and essay questions for the material if they apply. This was EXTREMELY helpful in my preparation, and I suggest you review the chapters and their tests twice, as I did. The free response questions are so similar to the ones found on the real AP test that the AP free response section was a BREEZE for me! Although the multiple choice in the book was not extraordinary similar to the one on the AP test, all of the ideas and concepts and reasoning was the same, and the multiple choice was not at all a challenge. Princeton Review stresses so many of the same ideas that appear on the test, I was truly amazed and remember thinking "Well, I'm glad Princeton Review went over this concept a million times!" or "Good thing Princeton Review really got that stuck into my mind."

This book my only study guide, and I used it very well, having been in a chemistry class with a horrible teacher. I completely and 100% credit this book for getting me the 5 that it did (I just got my score back today!). I started studying for the test early, in late Febuary, and I would recommend going through the entire book twice. This book was amazing, and I am so happy with its results!

Summary: Raises your self-esteem...until you get your test results
Review: Very easy to read, simple explanations, many exercises with a wide range of variables. Honestly, if you're taking AP Chem you should be able to do every problem in this book. While the book is good as a study aid, I felt it was pretty useless when it came to preparing me for the test which is VERY difficult.

Overall, the formulas are highlighted and easy to find, the exercise problems are creative but not too challenging. Good for the course but not the test.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Does a good job at preparing you for the AP exam
Review: Writing the AP exam is very different from getting an A in high school chemistry, and the book takes the right approach from the beginning by preparing you for the test. Do not expect this book to teach you new concepts in Chemistry, it does not do a good job at it. However, if you already know your Electrolysis and Chemical Kinetics, then this is the book for you. It helps you channel your effort towards solving the kind of questions that appear on the AP exam, so that you can work on your weak areas. Although my success on the exam was mostly due to my preparation in high school, this book helped me focus on what's really important to get the 5 points. So, I give the book a 5 star rating.
