Rating: Summary: The Fifth of March Review: The Fifth of March is a wonderful book that explains the Boston Massacre in living color. It captures the interest of any reader. When the soldiers are sent into Boston, Rachel Marsh befriends a sentry named Matthew Kilroy. As things become complicated between Rachel, Matthew, and the civilians of Boston, thoughts are tangled in the web of Rachel's mind. When citizens meet in front of the Commons House, Matthew leads the soldiers in firing upon the crowd. The images in the book are clear and vivid in any reader's mind. Intriguing, interesting, and thought-provoking.
Rating: Summary: Annie's Baby Review: Annie's Baby is a wonderful example of a 14 year old girl who became pregnant. It shares her deepest agony and pain going on in her life through diary entries. She was a normal teenage girl, leading a normal teenage life, with normal teenage friends, until the day she met Danny. He was wonderful to her, everything that a young lady would like. He fooled her shamelessly, tricking her into loving him and not being able to live without him. This story tells in great detail the ways she fought out her life through stress and writing. I recommend this book to any teenagers, especially those who might be possibly going through this trauma. You will appreciate it greatly.
Rating: Summary: Baby, think it out! Review: This book is great! It'll really make you think! Having a baby is a tough decision. But I think you shouldn't even consider having a baby until you're married to a good man and ready for that leap. This book is an intense read. The sad thing is, things like this happen all the time. You'll have to read it to understand what I mean!
Rating: Summary: The book of Info. Review: I just finished this book not that long ago and I fell in love with it. It supplies many young minds to what it's like to have a baby. I really enjoyed it because it has a great story with a happy ending with it. That's all a book really needs. I lent it to many of my friends and got the same reaction from them. This is a book especially for young teenagers who may be sexually active. I'm not but I wanted to see what it was like anyway after our presentation in Health class with the BABT THINK IT OVER doll.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down! Review: This book will keep you on your toes! I could not put it down. The emotions of this girl flow out. And you feel as if you are right there with her. It's easy to imagine everything she says. And It tells you the consequences of sex before marriage. Anyone thinking (especially teens) of sex b4 marriage! Read this book. It is in the 1st person, so you are right there with her. You feel angry, happy, sad, and terrified! At least I did. I recommend this book to all girls at any age!
Rating: Summary: A completely moving book Review: In this book Annie, a naive 14 year old, describes her painful realationship with her boyfriend, her unexpected pregnancy, and the birth of her child. Annie pours the truth into her diary. Although I am not(and have never been)as naive as Annie is, this book opened my eyes to the facts about abusive relationships. Annie struggles over the fact that premarital sex is against her values. She loves Danny though and keeps coming back to him, even though he raped her, even though he beats her. When Annie discovers she is pregnant, it makes her situation go from bad to worse. Unable to face the fact for months, Annie does everything posible to keep from seeing her boyfriend. When she gets up the guts to tell her boyfriend, she is faced with the horrible truth:he never loved her at all. Annie's mother supports her dission to have her baby. But when Lil'Annie is born, Annie discovers how hard a baby is. She asks her self this question:Can she really raise her baby? This is an exellent book, every girl age 10 and up should read it!
Rating: Summary: Soooooo good Review: This is such a good book because it really could happen to any girl. I read this book after I read Go Aks Alice and It Happened To Nancy, which are very similar to Annie's Baby, and found it interesting that one of the friends in It Happened to Nancy seemed to be Annie in Annie's Baby. But anyway, this book was fabulous! I couldn't believe how naive she was though. Any girl who thinks boyfriends are supposed to beat their girlfriends needs to learn a thing or two. As the reader follows her through her pregnancy, they see her go from the happiest girl in the world to the most depressed girl in the universe. This book was very touching and although I didn't agree with all the choices she made, I LOVED the book! I reccomend this book to any girl over the age of 11.
Rating: Summary: Annie's baby Review: This is a great book about a young teenage girl who gets pregant by her abusive boyfriend. When she tells him he abuses her saying its not his child. She decides to keep the child and meets some other pregnant teens who she quickly becomes friends with. When the baby is born she finally relizes how much work it really is. In the end everything works out. I think this is a great book for teens to read.
Rating: Summary: A page turning book. You will surely learn something. Review: I am a tirteen-yeat old who has just recently just finished reading this book, and this book has just taught me something. IT'S GREAT TO WAIT. It teaches you to just wait until you are old enough to handle sex, and the many problems that it may cause. I didn't agree with some of the dicisions that she had made, but it was still a great book.
Rating: Summary: Should be required for all teens Review: This was not only an educational experience, but a breach with reality. Although I did not agree with some of the young girl's decisions, I am glad that she and I learned from her mistakes. This is a very good book for adolescents to prepare them and hopefully persuade them towards abstinence.
