Rating: Summary: Great Description Review: I thought Annie's Baby was a marvelous book because it accurately described the pain and suffering of have a child out of wedlock, and at a young age. Any young teen-ager who read this book and still didn't think second thoughts about their sexual life, is definelty BEYOND me!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely a must-read... Review: Imagine being about 13 years old...Imagine being a happy-go-lucky middle school student who loves playing soccer. Now, imagine getting pregnant. That's what happened to Annie. She was a normal girl until she met a boy who was a little older than her. Then, she "fell in love" and ended up having sex with him. Unfortunately, she got pregnant and he got abusive. Annie, then, had to decide if she should continue dating him or break up with him and if she should keep her baby or give it up. There are some rough times in this book that will make you cry, so make sure you have tissues around.
Rating: Summary: Absolute MUST READ Review: Not only was this a great book but it was also thought provoking. I believe that if ALL girls read this book we would be united in the common cause to help one an other. Please read and share this book. Together we can help all teen girls. May God bless and guild you, Jesus Freak
Rating: Summary: Good book to consider Review: Having met many young people in a town where 12 year olds having children is a regular occurence, I think this book is very realistic. It sounds as if it were written by a young, uneducated girl--much like many of my Girl Scouts, who are not much younger than Annie. A good read for young women who are considering having sex, but think that pregnancy won't happen to them.
Rating: Summary: Not a must read there are better books out there! Review: This book, was ok, It took a long time though to find out that she was prego, and the fact when she is prego she talks about it a little bit here and there but the book focuses on other points. Not only that it paints a really bad picture of teen moms, and it teen moms like " Annie," that make all teen moms look bad. Teen parents are great parents and they do just a good of a job as a 35 yr old parent. But the book focuesed on the point that all teen parents are bad which I know isn't true because many of them love there children and finish school and so on. The ending was terrible! I didn't like it at all, so basically the whole book just bashed teen moms and dads. So our society will never learn that until we help teen paretns become succesful the cycle will never stop, and our society will be just as bitter. Teen parents can do it! I think that they are wonderful parents who love their kids, unlike this book!
Rating: Summary: Annie's Baby Review: I just read 'Annie's Baby' and, while I enjoyed the story line to a point, I found it to be unrealistic. The book made all teenage mothers out to be bad and than irked me. It also made all teenage fathers out to look bad and unresponsible which is almost like and excuse for some who read the book. I thought the story was mostly good but the ending was disapointing...
Rating: Summary: This is a great book!! Review: I really liked this book, but it was really weird to think that this girl was in MY GRADE, she was MY AGE, and she was PREGNANT. I mean, I'm like one of those people who thinks, this could never happen to me. But after reading this, I realize how easily it could happen. I'm glad I read this, and I recommend it to other people my age (13-14). I also read "It Happened to Nancy" and liked that too. P.S. For whoever said it's not realistic because she apologizes for cussing--I do that sometimes too...because I also pretend my diary is a real person, just like Annie refers to hers as "Daisy."...and also, Annie, as someone else mentioned, is Catholic and may feel the need to apologize.
Rating: Summary: A must read for teenagers! Review: If you're a teen, or even if you're an adult, this is a GREAT book to read. It's such a page turner that when I started reading it, I just couldn't stop unless I had to. I finished it in just a few days because it was so good. It's written so beautifully. You really find yourself absorbed in the story, and sort of feeling what Annie must have felt, and how scary it must be to be so young and have the responsibility of caring for a baby when you wish you could just be a normal teenager again! Overall this is a wonderful book that will stay in your heart for a lifetime. Read it! =)
Rating: Summary: Read and liked it Review: This is a good book. I'm a teenager and I felt sorry for Annie. I kinda felt like I knew where she was coming from with being all in love and stuff. She made a tough desicion and accepted it. I really liked to book and want to read GO ASK ALICE now.
Rating: Summary: The Pregnant Teen Review: I thought Annie's Baby was an okay book. It showed the thoughts and feelings of a pregnant teen, but was unrealistic. I think the author tried too much to make teen pregnancy seem so horrible. The way she wrote was not really like a teen girl, but all in all, the book was interesting. It was also helpful, and I would recommend it to any teen.
