Rating: Summary: Blessing Wrapped in a Science Fiction Twist Review: That's the best way I can describe this book. It's lovely lovely medicine for misunderstood and/or above average intelligence teenagers and kids. All the kids is the story are highly intelligent in certain areas, and the book gives them the same power these type of people have in reality in the tangible understandable, 'Save the World' format. It does have a science-fiction feel to it, so you may not enjoy it as much if you don't like science fiction.
Rating: Summary: Welcome to the Ark/ 9th grade review Review: The book was very exhilarating. I liked all the characters and how they acted to life and challenges. I didn't really like how they skipped eight years towards the end of the book. "Welcome to the Ark" would have been better if they wouldn't have arranged it the way they did. It made you feel like you were really there and you could also make the connections with them. Reading the book went really fast because they were not in chapters like normal books they were in journal entries, e-mails, therapy sessions, and chat rooms. I really liked "Welcome to the Ark" because the characters were so realistic unlike other novels. I recommend reading this novel because it shows how most peoples life are fine and how other childrens lives are dealt with pain and suffering that they dont know how to control themselves. It's a real reality check about how kids in rehab function just like normal kids but at the same time, how they don't understand most things in life. We are recommending this book to people who like to read about interesting things that children can accomplish in life.
Rating: Summary: The Highschool Review Review: The book was very intresting. It really keeps you on the edge of your seat. It was enjoyable to see how the author thinks the minds of intelligent people work. We thought the author did a good job of describing the feelings of the characters. We liked how the book dealt with future but also presednt issues. Welcome to the Ark could teach you some major lessons in life. I would recommend it to anyone interrested in supernatural forces.
Rating: Summary: Welcome to the Ark class review Review: This book is a good book for someone that likes books about four kids that are really smart but are outcast in the society of one thing or the other. This book is weird because it seems like it is happening now, because we are having a war and terrorist attacks like ithe book. If you like scifi you would like this book because some of theses kids have pretty weird gifts like connecting with trees, mountains, and animals. Another one of the kids cantalk to people through their mind and can feel what others are feeling. So if you like those thing you would like this book.

Rating: Summary: Love and light Review: This book is a must-read for all parents and educators of gifted children, as well as young children themselves. I could not put the book down until I was done with it and ordered the sequel (Flight of the Raven) while I was reading the first chapters, so that I didn't have to wait between the books. It is more than fiction - it's so inspirational and touches on deep philosophical and moral issues of giftedness and spirituality. In this book Stephanie Tolan shares her love and light with her readers, as in her many other works. Thank you!
Rating: Summary: Welcome to the Ark Review: This book is an above adverage book because it is really good, especially at the beginning and almost at the end. The ending is weird because it goes from present to eight years later. It doesn't really tell their lives to that point. I think the author should have gone more in depth in what went on in their lives after leaving the "group home." Other than that the book was really good. If you liked the movie "The Breakfast Club", you'll like this book you'll like this book just as well because if is kind of the same plot in a scene becasue they both tell thier stories about their lives, families and don't really know eachother that well until the end of Saturday School where they know eachother more and become for the most of them become friends. That's kind of the case here, except that the children in the book have more complex issues. As time goes on, they get to know one another and become friends. So agian I strongly suggest this book. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: OH MY GOSH!! Review: This book is realistic and disturbing as a result. The time period in which the book takes place has already passed, and that time period wasn't as violent as the author had predicted, well at least not in this area. But the time period in which the last section of the book takes place may be as violent as the author predicts, with terrorist bombings an everyday occurence in Montreal and New York the most dangerous city in the world. This book focuses on the theme of violence and Armageddon, and how a group of precocious kids and teenagers try and learn to "tame" it. This book is extremely revelant with what has been happening nowadays and is a very good read.
Rating: Summary: Welcome to the Ark Review: This book is really good because the beginning is really good, really unitl you get to the end. The part about everyone feeling his spirit among TAryn, Miranda and Doug when they get on top of the mountain. The way they meet each other is weird and far fetched. That is the only part of the book I didn't like. If you like the movie called "The Breakfast Club", you'll like this book it's kind of the same plot. The differences are the book it's about four children ranging in all different ages, except Miranda and Doug. They are pretty close together. Their issues are worse then in The Breakfast Club because in that movie, they have hard times with family, maybe the exception of John Bender becasue he has been abused at home, like Eligah. Don't get me wrong. It is bad, most kids have troubles with their parents. I strongly recommend this book to anyone. Enjoy
Rating: Summary: Best Book I've Read Lately Review: This book is very exciting and very timely, since it deals with a society filled with terrorism. Four talented and bright children are brought together in a mental health facility and find that together they have unusual brainpower, such as telekinesis! The author's style reminds me of Avi's Nothing But the Truth in that it uses documents as well as narration to tell the story. It is very fascinating! I recommend it to any all bright kids out there who believe that they have a stake in the current events we now face.
