Summary: Enchanting
Review: Beautiful! An amazing book that left me satisfied, touched, stunned . . . amazing! The character development is very well done, and I felt like I really got to know Sirena. Her personality is well portrayed and she seems like a person I could relate to or talk to. This book is poignant and touching. I would definitely recommend buying it!

Summary: Sirena
Review: Sirena by Donna Jo Napoli is an enticing book that I basically read 3 hours straight. It is a beautiful story about Greek sirens living on a island. Their dream is to become immortal, but to do so, they must be fallen in love with by a man. To do this, they sing an enchanting song to make the men love them, but the men, instead, crash to their deaths on the rocks. Sirena, the "unique" one, disagrees with her sisters' way of getting guys, so follows her own path. I strongly recommend this book, it was wonderful, and, as I've said, enticing. But, I suggest ages 13 and up.

Summary: Excellent-The only book you need to read
Review: Mermaids have always enticed me. Since I was little I had imagined what it would be like venturing into their world. The world of the mermaid. Well, its not so hard now! I found none of the parts disgusting as someone else did...it was a book intended for 13+ I believe, and isn't really appropriate for anyone younger, it has sexual lines...so I probably wouldn't get it for my 10, 11, or 12 year old. If you are looking for a true masterpiece, this is definately it.

Summary: My Sirena Experience
Review: Sirena is a siren living on a greek island with her 49 sisters. Related to the greek gods and goddesses she yearns to become immortal. But she can't be immortal unless a human man loves her. With her fish tail, how is that possible? She uses her enchanting voice to lure sailors to her. After a tragic accident she flees her island and goes to live on another far away. She soon spots a sailor marooned on the beach. He was bitten by one of Hera's serpents and left to die. Sirena wants to sing to him but holds herself back. Slowly, over time, she becomes friends with him. But does he love her? You'll have to find out for yourself. I give this book 5 stars. It's one of my favorites!

Summary: A Image Creating Book!
Review: Sirena was a wonderful book to read. It had many mind creating images in it. I enjoyed the book. It was a little boring in the beginning but then later it much more interesting. It was a mythical book and took plqace in the Aegean Sea. Sirena was a mermaid. She sang siren songs to make men adore her. Nymphes anbd mermaids sang the siren songs hoping one man would become each of their mates but it only lead the men to thier deaths. Some parts in the book I found very disgusting. Even though the book was fantasy mythical book, it still kept me tuned into the book the whole time. This book has a lot of emotional, romantic, and powerful scenes in it. I am glad that Donna Jo Napoli (the author) wrote such a Heart Warming book for teenagers and adults. I hope there are other books like Sirena. This book is truly a book worth buying and reading.

Summary: Enchanting
Review: "Sirena" was yet another great novel by Napoli, and one of her best! Napoli always manages to take a story we all know something about, this time the legendary Greek sirens, and turn it into something special.

Sirena, a young mermaid, half human and half fish, lives with her many sisters when they are told something important: if they can get a human man to love them, they will become immortal. However, when Sirena sees many shipwrecked men die, she wonders if immortality is worth a loss of life.

When tragedy strikes, Sirena swims away to the island of Lemnos where she finds an abandoned Greek soldier. Will they fall in love, and will Sirena become immortal?

This book was excellent, and I'd recommend it for ages 12 and up. Be sure to read Napoli's other works, especially "Song of the Magdalene"!
