Summary: This deserves WAY more than 5 stars!
Review: I love this book SO much! I actually got finished reading it for @ least the 5th or ? time earlier today. This book is written beautifully and it's almost like you can feel the ocean spray on your face and you can feel exactly how Sirena feels. I wanted to laugh, then cry. This book is defidentily one of my favorites and I will be reading it again. READ THIS BOOK! This is the best book! I've recomended this book to many of my friends and they've all loved it, too. A must read!

Summary: Undescribable
Review: This story is sooooo breathtaking. I won't say anything about the story, if I do-I'll blab the whole thing to you. All I can say is this book is trully magical. The love Sirena feels for Phioctetes is unbeliveable. The way DJN descibes the islands and animals is so amazing. All I can say is, this book gives you something to think about for days after you finish it.

Summary: GREAT BOOK! From 13-y.o. reader
Review: I recomend this book fully! I loved it! I have read it many, many times and it gets better every time! I've let alot of my friends borrow this book and they've all loved it, too. After I read this book, I thought about it for weeks afterward. A great book to go along w/ this 1 is "Inside the Walls of Troy" by Clemence McLaren. Both are great!!! READ THESE BOOKS!!!!

Summary: Should be required reading
Review: I am a fantasy lover. Anything that involves mermaids, faeries, elves, and vampires intrigues me. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read. The mythology gives it a good historical stronghold, making me wonder if the story was somehow misplaced all these years. Sirena is beautiful, both inside and out. I was genuinely sad to finish the book as I looked forward to reading it every night. I realize this is a young adult book but from a 22 year old's viewpoint it was awesome.

Summary: Almost impossible to put down!
Review: This is a great book! I myself am a huge fan of mythology and I am curious about gods and godesses, and mermaids and even sirens. That is why I like how Napoli put two mythological creatures together. Sirens+mermaids= pure excitement, and great adventures for young people who are interested in mythology. That's why this is great for young people. Me and my friend are only twelve, but yet we tottaly love mythology. I should make her read this. She will really see a different view of mythology, and sirens, and mermaids.

Summary: One of THE best books
Review: The author of ~Sirena~ captures the reader in with her flowing language and sensory details. The way she describes every person, place, and thing just ties in so well with the great plot. I recommend this book to any teenage girl with a hook for romance, and give it five stars because of the beautiful language and the wonderful story. This book, when read, will be thoroughly enjoyed.

Summary: Magical
Review: I love this book. It is wonderful how she fits her instincts and familyjust so she may save other's lives. I love it. The book has a sad ending but it makes it better. I also loved all the greek mythology in it. Like Hera's snake and Zues's kids.

Summary: Mythological Mermaid in Love
Review: I am very pleased that I gave Donna Jo Napoli's books a second chance. I read Crazy Jack and, for whatever reason, did not like it very much the first time around. A few months later, I picked up Sirena and did not regret it one iota. "Sirena" combines the Greek myths with sirens, nymphs and mermaids as well as Odysseus and Troy. The mermaids are told that if they fall in love, they will become immortal. Sirena, one such mergirl, distances herself from the school of nymphs she normally follows and ends up falling for a wounded man who was on his way to the war. After a short while of tending to him without his knowing, she finally reveals her true nature to him and their relationship builds, slowly at first, then to a state in which they regard themselves as married. The book takes place over a few years so you do feel as if you get to know Sirena and fall into her normal daily pattern right along with her. This book is the embodiment not just of the Greek myths, but of the saying: "If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it is yours. If it doesn't , it never was."
