Summary: Dicey's Song, the real story
Review: I think I would recomend this book to someone because I thought is was interesting, and had a good story line. It is about four children who are living with their grandmother(Gram) because their motheris sick in the hospitol, and their father ran out on them years before. The story is seen through the eyes of the oldest child, Dicey Tillerman. She is a thirteen year-old girl who needs to learn to let go of the bad memories that she has from this past summer, when she led her younger brothers and sister from their house, to their gram's in Massachusettes and learn to hold on to the new life that she and her younger siblings have. She, along with her siblings, have their own problems that they have to deal with through out the book that in the end, and resolved. To really get the full story, read this book, and the one before it, it's called Homecoming. It's a great book, but you don't have to take my word for it.

Summary: A Toucing Story
Review: Dicey has always looked out for her family, and after her mother and father abandon her and her siblings, she feels a great responsibility to care for her brothers and sister while they are living with their grandmother. Each member of her family is having a hard time fitting in. Maybeth, her younger sister is having a very difficult time in school; her brother James is doing fine in school, but having a hard time fitting in, while her other brother Sammy is having a hard time behaving. Cynthia Voigt wonderfully describes Dicey's feelings and the troubles she's having trying to keep up with her family's troubles. Dicey's Song is a realistic book about a family, who cares very much, about each other and the people surrounding them, and their struggles to survive with very little money. Their love for each other is strong and they help each other as best they can. This is a touching book that will make you think about how lucky you really are. I really enjoyed this book because it was interesting and about every day life, it was sometimes funny, and sometimes sad, but I can assure you putting this book down will be one of the hardest things you ever do.

Summary: Great sequel to Homecoming
Review: The characters in this series are people who feel like misfits. They all manage to learn to accept and like themselves and find friends without having to sacrifice who they are. My favorite aspect of this series is that reading this book, A Solitary Blue, and Come a Stranger, the reader gets the impression that Voigt wrote them all simultaneously. All three contain different characters' experiences of some of the same events in varied degree of detail and fullness depending on the character's involvement in the events.

I highly recommend this series for teens and young adults. The books do contain some meaty subject matter, but Voigt handles it sensitively.

Summary: A Hard Year
Review: Dicey's Song is the sequel to the book Homecoming. This book is about the Tillerman's and their adjusments in their new home. It is about their relationship with their new guardian their grandmother, about how they adjust in a new school, friendships, and growing up all together. Dicey the oldest had a very hard summer, and in the book it explains that she has grown up too fast. I like this book because I think that it is interesting to see how people adjust to new environments.

Summary: A WOnDerFul BOoK...!
Review: The book Dicey's Song was a wonderfully written book by Cynthia Voight. The way she uses the characters and make them come alive makes the book worth reading. Once you start reading, you want to know what happens next to the Tillermans, and it is almost addictive. I highly reccomend reading this book becuase the plot, characters, setting, all make the book more interesting to read about. The author makes the characters come alive in some way that you can almost feel like its more than reading, its almost as if the characters are a close friend to you. You know everything that is happening, yet you cant react to any of it. The author shows the characters thoughts, feelings, and emotions in wonderfully written words, its highly addictive to read..

Summary: family oriented book
Review: As a twelve year old girl I found that I could in no way relate to Dicey and her different conflicts. The plot was unimaginative and droning.I thought This book was boring. However, this would most likely be an ideal book for someone who is looking for a theme that is family orinted, because i found that in the even though there was no plot it had many different morals and family values written into it.

Summary: Growing up
Review: I liked Dicey's Song!! I thought that Dicey wasn't not like an average teenage girl she had so much work on her shoulders. She had to manage a family by her self almost like she was the mother. Dicey's song is a great book for teenage girls to read.

Summary: The Worst Book Ever
Review: I had to read this book durring the summer and I suffered all through it. I hated it and the writing style was crummy...Ugggggggggggh. If you are going to by a book here, don't buy Dicey's Song. In the book, she doesn't even sing a song.

Summary: Dicey's Song
Review: "Who are you?" is what Dicey's grandma said when Dicey and her three siblings showed up on her door step after the disappearence their mom. Dicey, who is forced to grow up too soon, has never met her grandmom before. But now she has no choice. Dicey's mom left her, and Dicey did not want to end up in a foster home so she and her siblings stay in the care of their grandma. But Dicey takes care of her siblings, because her grandma is a little weird. The fact that Dicey's grandma would rater row her boat into town than taking a bus or riding a car makes Dicey a little uneasy about leaving her siblings to be her grandma's responsibility. Dicey never felt this way with her mom, but Dicey knows her mom left her because her mom needed hospital care. Will Dicey ever see her mom again or will she always live with her grandma? Dicey's Song is a Newbery Medal winner by Cynthia Voigt that made it into my heart form begining to end.Dicey Tillerman and her siblings are ina series of books that show yo how it feels to grow up too soon. I know Dicey's Song will make it into your heart the way it made its way into mine.
