Rating: Summary: Banner In the Sky Review: I first read this book in the 5th grade. Since that year I have re-read the book every year following. Why because that book taught me to keep reaching for my goals no matter how big and and who stands in your way. You may have to trample some feelings to get your goals but once you attain your goals and the feelings you have trampled on will be erased. This is just one of those books that has inspired me to get where I am today. You will read this and I will promise you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: A Perennial Favorite Review: Have reread this many times since elementary school, over 30 years ago. A classic for children. Fosters a love of the mountain as well as the importance of the family circle. Read it!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful Story Review: I thought this book was very good. The end was very surprising, and clever. I would recommend you read it!
Rating: Summary: Banner in the Sky Review: I think this book was excellent and I liked how Uncle Franz Lerner did finally change his attitude toward Rudi about climbing the Citadel. And I value Rudi's courage for his expedition on climbing the Citadel in Switzarland and climbs it for his unfinshed quest from his father who died on the Fortress helping Sir Edward stay alive. Especially Old Teo who helps Rudi to go out on his mountain climbing even if his mother and Uncle want him to become a successful business man, Teo knew that it was not meant to be. So I encourage you to read, "Banner in the Sky" for it shows real courage and what you really want in your heart or mind to happen.
Rating: Summary: An Excellent Read For Any Age Review: This book was loaned to me by a friend, and at first I'll admit that I really wasn't eager to read it. But now that I have, I am very glad that I did so. Rudi's story is very moving and you can easily relate to him. Growing up in the shadow of Mt. Ranier, I can understand the strong desire and need to be on the top of that mountain. There would be no finer thing. The scarifice he made in the end, brought me to tears. He made the right choice and that's what was so painful. Even so, the story had a good ending, and I came away from it satisfied. Captain Winter is a favorite character also. Such a strong man, he deserved to reach the summit almost more than anyone. He was willing to reach for his goal, even when all other's refused to help.
Rating: Summary: good book to start out a great year. Review: I liked the setting in the Swiss alps,I always wanted to conquer the Citadel (or also known as the MaterHorn.)My favorite part was the end. It was surprising!I was anxious to read the story. After I read the first chapter, I already could link it to my life, how I wasn'so popular because of my looks how I was always a different hight when I was little and my skin was pretty light. Between the ages of 6 and 7 there were 3 deaths in my life and all my grandfathers died before I was born.I suggest you read the story. It has a great ending!
Rating: Summary: Does Rudi make iton the citadel? Review: Banner In The Sky was an excellant book. It's about a boy named Rudi Matt, Captain Winter,Franz, and Old Teo,also. That's some of the charactors in the book. James Ramsey makes the moutain come alive. He is a good auther if you like to read book about mountains. If you get a chance to read Banner In The Sky,here is a small question for you. Does the red shirt get to the top? Read and you'll find out!
Rating: Summary: Rudi wants to climb the Citadel, but his family says no. Review: I thought the book was very interesting. It had some sad parts in it.It takes place in a make believe town called Kurtal, which takes place in Switzerland. Rudi wants to climb a mountain called the Citadel, but his family doesn't want him to.Rudi has to decide if he wants to obey his mother and uncle, or if he can make his own decision and climb the Citadel. Right away when I started reading Banner in the Sky, I could not put it down. Banner in the Sky was one of my favorite books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Itwas one of the best books I read. Review: It is the best book I have read in a long time. I think that you should read it because of the surpise ending and a great beginning. Rudi tries to climb the moutain because his father died on the mountain. I have to say there are some really boring parts in the story. But, that shows that the author knows what he is talking about. I sure hope you read this book because it is the best book I have ever and I mean ever read. Remember what I said (READ IT)!
Rating: Summary: This was one of the bet books I've read. Review: This was one of the best books I've read, and I've read some really good books, but this was probably the best.It was so good, I plan on reading it again. It's about a 16 year old boy named Rudi Matt. His dream is to climb a mountain called the Citadel in the Alps. His dad died on it right after Rudi was born.He wants to get to the top to put his dad's red shirt on the summit. The ending was the most tense spot in the book. If you like mountain stories, this is the book for you,but even if you have never read one before, like me, I still recommend it. If I were you I would plan on buying it.
