Rating: Summary: A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW EASY IT IS TO MAKE MISTAKES. Review: this book made me realize how easy it is to make a mistake. I read it too late, but it made sense. I lost my virginity at 16.9yrs of age. I read on some teen magazine that is the average age for a teenage girl to lose her virginity. Judy Blume captured the essential feeling of a teen girl, lost, scared, excieted and very naive in believing that she is ready for sex. I know in my heart that having sex so early was a mistake, I, like katherine believed that I would marry this guy. We loved eachother, that is all that mattered. I was wrong. I still appriciate the book because if a girl can read it before she makes the mistake I did, Maybe she will change her mind. Sex complicates EVERYTHING. And it breaks your heart.
Rating: Summary: Great, realistic book.... Review: I really liked this book. It captured how I feel in my current relationship. I'm 17, and have been dating my boyfriend for 10 1/2 months. He's so intent on us getting married and staying together forever, but I seriously don't think I'm ready for "forever" yet, like Catherine wasn't. I still feel love for him, I just feel I'm too young to commit. This book has all my feelings about this situation... even eerier is that my boyfriend has the same name as Catherine's boyfriend, plus the name "Kat" used to be my nickname too... Anyway, I don't think this book is appropriate for younger kids. I'm sure high school students can handle it well, though.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT,TRUTHFUL,REALISTIC,SAD,MEMORABLE Review: Excellent. I read this book in three hours. I first read about "Forever" somewere were it said it had been challenged/banned and I thought "a Judy Blume book banned that can't be". I've been reading Judy Blume books since I was in the fourth grade and everyone I read was great, I could'nt believe anyone of them would be banned. So I bought the book just to see what all the fuss was about. I could'nt put it down it was almost gripping. It was very truthful and honest. I liked how the book didn't pull any punches. I mean it wasn't in-your-face, hard core, sexual but it wasn't hokey, dopey, or disgustingly cute or over romantic. It was in the middle, not black not white but gray. Which I thought was very realistic. In short it was beleivable. What I liked the most was that you could really feel and understand the characters; particularly Katherine. You could feel and relate to here fears, her anxioties, her confusion, her cu! ! riosity, her happiness, and her pain. The only part of the story I thought was somewhat silly was Ralph (read the book and you will understand) I mean naming it Ralph oh come on. But other than that I loved the story. I thought that the ending was somewhat sad but believeble. But all in all the ending was satisfing I'm glad it did not end abruptly just leaving the reader hanging left to draw their own conclusions. The end was solid and while it was sad it was not depressing it had a sense of optimism to it and definitly gives the reader a sense of closure and a sense that life will go on and get better for the main character. Now I'm a 19 year old guy but somehow I still felt a connection with this story. I think I finally got a glimpse into what a girl of about my age thinks and feels so I found this story also to be very informative. This book helped me to understand that sex isn't as big as I thought it was and that somethings like love are much! ! more important and special and should be paid more attent! ion. In short this book made sense to me. I highly reccomend that any teenager wheather they be a boy or a girl; a thirteen year old or a nineteen year old read Forever by Judy Blume.
Rating: Summary: Buy this book now for your teen daughter or if you're a teen Review: This book is the first book I've ever read that truly tackled the subject of "going all the way." Other books were wrote in a way to make it sound horrible and that you should wait until you're married (which I happen to agree with), but girls need to know what will happen if they don't want to wait. The way this book is written helps teen girls to understand what could happen, and how it's very hard to tell what "love" is as a teenager. Buy it. It's a great book that's worth it !
Rating: Summary: A GREAT READ! Review: I read this book when i was 13.As a grown woman of 33,i can say this is one book i remember still to this day. When the young girl falls in love for first time, just as it can happen in real life, she feels that it will last always. But of course first love is rarely ever last love and this book i feel teaches, maybe it's best to wait about having a sexual relationship. No matter how deep you feel your love is.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: When my friend picks Forever she laughed when she reed the back. I was brave enough to buy. I loved this book! Many think it is all about sex, but if you took away the sex you have a great love story. I must be mature cause I read it when I was only 12. It was one of the best books I ever read.
Rating: Summary: This book was a good. Review: I couldn't put this book down. This book which would nomally take me a month to read, I read in two days! Yes, this book may not be approite for younge readers, but if your mature I think you can handle it! This book talks of Katherin's love for her boyfriend and their sexual experence.
