Rating: Summary: I think this book sums most everything our young face today. Review: This book from front to back shows the challenges we teenagers face today. We love we lose. But in this book we learn how to overcome it.
Rating: Summary: The Book Forever was one of the best books I've read. Review: Forever is one of those books that you pick up and you're never sure of the ending. Kathrine, had lots to learn from her senior year in high school, and unlike a fairy tale everything didn't end happily. I wish they'd have written a sequel to this book to see how her life turned out in college, but if you like love stories this is definitely a book you should read.
Rating: Summary: Breathtaking! Review: I really liked this book. It explained what all teenagers are curious about. A teenage must have!
Rating: Summary: The Best Young Adult Book on Earth!!!!!!!! Review: This book was one of the best I've ever read! Judy Blume is great! I feel that Michael and Katherine's relationship is typical of all teenagers. They feel it will last forever, which is very unlikely.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This book helped me understand more about relationships. It also makes me think about things twice before I actilly decide on doing them. Judy Blume did a fantasic job on writeing this story. I did't want the book to end. I recommend this book to all teenagers.
Rating: Summary: Forever... Review: I thought it was incredibly emotional and understandable. Judy Blume has done a job well done on this book because it is so open and free with its words. I have to admit that I was kind of shocked to read something by Judy Blume that was so different than anything I had ever read before. I learned a lot of new things by reading this book, like deep relationships. Forever... is one of the most touching books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: I wanted to read more about Artie Review: I really loved this book when I was a sophomore, and I still read it from time to time now that I'm a freshman in college. It's easy to read, you can get through it in two hours or less. It's an honest account of a teenage affair blah blah, I was just disappointed in the character development. I wish Judy Blume was able to develop Erica and Artie's relationship more, or at least give us more to read about Artie and his problems. It was slick, though, the way she used Katherine's hard-to-get attitude with Michael, and then used it again with Theo. Nothing was outstanding about the book, I liked it because I felt like I was reading about any random person that used to sit by me in high school.
Rating: Summary: If you think this is another RAMONA, think again! Review: This book is graphic, almost explicit, but has a steady story line surrounding the main character and her boyfriend. It vividly illustrates all landmarks in young love from the first shared glance to the first kiss to the first...time. Beverly Cleary writes with an informal, but not nearly slang, tone that makes the reader relive the memories (this book recaptures) all over again. Not for children under 13, to be sure, but still a very good, strong read with good messages about safety, honesty, and most of all...love.
Rating: Summary: Wise! Review: Judy is swell in that when she writes about teen girls' romances, she understands that they have strong sexual feelings like boys. Kathy is extremely wise and mature beyond her years. She does have sex, but realizes that it entails responsibilities and she and Micheal talk very candidly about avoiding venereal disease and pregnancy and make sure they have adequate protection. I liked how helpful Kathy's grandmother was in providing the info that Kathy needed to make a smart choice. I also commend Kathy for staying close to her friend Erica and staying on track with her schoolwork so she could graduate with high grades, even though her relationship with Micheal is very intense. What I also liked is that even when Kathy and Micheal break up, Kathy doesn't fall apart or feel as if she's "ruined" because she had sex with Micheal. People who criticized this book as "immoral" need to wake up from their delusions that all teenagers will wait until they're married to have sex;they need to face the fact that teens have sex, have always had sex( even though it wasn't discussed back then), and will always have sex. I think if more teens were as wise and responsible as Kathy & Micheal, the teen pregnancy and venereal disease rate would shoot down. I thought the book was exceptionally moral in encouraging responsible, safe sex.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous work by Blume Again! Review: Time after time I read Blumes books and this one was no exception. She highlights the troubles and dilemas of the average teenager and "Forever" brings up the inevitable question of sex! She makes it seem as if a teenager has actually written the book as each facinating but daunting step happens. Well Done Judy!
