Rating: Summary: My Opinion Review: I am a teen that read Forever. I loved it! It's a story of first love, and how people react to love. The sexual parts were very graphic but as I say, 'learn about it before you go off and do something stupid.' I've read other people's negative reviews talking about how they read this book 15, 20 years ago. I thought this was a young adults book. Therefore young adults should review it. Forever was a great book, it's real, it tells the truth, it makes you think. If you like Judy Blume, I recommend Summer Sisters...
Rating: Summary: A must read for all teens! Review: I don't understand why some reviewers find this book dirty or perverse,I mean I think it's one of the most honest books on teen sexuality that I have read.Judy Blume never writes books that are highly intellectual or filled with glorified words and phrases, she writes straight from the heart and that's why her books ,all of them i think touch a cord. Her characters in 'Forever' are believable and also likeable.I can't believe she wrote this book during the seventies because the problems faced by teens pertaining to sex ,peers, parents, growing up etc are the same ones faced by us in the nineties.I guess many of us, girls especially get swept up in the first relationship with someone an have a notion that it will last forever. In most cases relationships end ,an yes there is hurt and confusion and somehow I never cease to wonder how Judy Blume understands us so well.Yes the author has done her best to inform us about 'The First Time'and why we must be prepared for the love to end sometimes because lets face it,nothing lasts forever.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and a very good read. Review: "Forever" is a book about young love and Blume aptly tells her story of Michael and Katherine. The two young lovers meet and fall in love. Over time, distance and the fact that they are both growing up changes their relationship. It is poignant and realistic. I was about 13 or 14 when I first read the book and I admit I was shocked when I first read it, then I was enthralled in the story. For one reviewer who said that she knew people who started having sex because of this book then she knew people who did not have confidence in themselves and I doubt the book swayed them to begin an intimate relationship. It is still one of my favorite stories and I read it about 10 years ago. Probably for Junior High and older teenagers.
Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Judy Blume tells the wounderful story of young love. In Forever... you go through journey of Kath and Michel's love at eighteen. A wonderful story and an extremely fast read.
Rating: Summary: It was OK...... Review: I bought this book yesterday, and I read it all in 3 hours. It was a good book, not GREAT but good. And I don't agree with the people who said this book was gross and perverted. Sure the sex scenes were a little graphic, but it's no compared to the scenes they make in movies these days. It was a great story about first love, and it made me wonder if sex is always necessary in love. And now I'm worried about what might happen if I get a boyfriend. Would I go through the same trouble as Kathy did? It really got me worrying, but it made me get ready to see what having a boyfriend is like, and made me decide to wait for the right person. (Theo, in this Kathy's case) And I have to say that I completely agree with Kathy's dad. You have to keep seeing a lot of people , so that you'll know who is the right one. Kathy was too young to be tied up with one person. I think this book will be the best guide for girls who are just before that age of having boyfriends.
Rating: Summary: very different but interesting Review: I thought this book was very interesting it teaches people especially couples who believe they are in love but wat is love? how do you noe who's the right person? these and other questions are very important and this book answers them. Every girl should read it helps you understand.
Rating: Summary: Super Book Review: I thought that this book was really good. It gave all of the information in a no nonsense way and gave all of the details. It was really informing and told me things that i had never imagined. I read it so quickly! A really good book!
Rating: Summary: First love................ Review: I read Forever back when I was much younger, and now that I'm twice the age I was then, I can still read it and find it as good as it was the first time. It is a very realistic look into a teen's first love. I didn't find any of the sex scenes disgusting or perverted like some other reviewers did. It was as close to real life as it could possibly get. I think that Judy Blume has a great talent to write and appeal to a young audience, and she seems to know them so well. I would recommend this book to girls, ages 13 and up, for a quick, summer read. It's a good love story, and it also has meaning to it. Forever is also a very easy and fast read, perfect for a day at the beach reading.
