Summary: A Review of The Cay
Review: The Cay is a historical fiction book. The Cay is about a boy named Phillip. During World War Two Phillip washes up on an island with Timothy, a large black man who is about 70 years old, and with a cat named Stew Cat. It is about how they learn to live on the island away from civilization. Then a crack to the head causes Phillip to go blind. Then a terrible storm attacks. Find out what happens to Timothy, Phillip, and Stew Cat. I thought that this was a good book because it really shows how hard all of there lives became when they came to the island.I thought this book showed a lot of emotion, strength, and courage.

Review: The Cay was an exciting and adventerous book. Not a chapter ended without being an exciting cliffhanger which made you want to keep on reading until the end. I enjoyed The Cay and recommend it to anyone who's up for a good read and an exciting, adventerous time. I give The Cay 5 stars because of it's well written chapters and happy, but sad, ending. Summary: The Cay
Review: I liked the book because it show how a boy grew into a man by taking on responsbilities. He was blind so that show that anyone can do anything by taking on their own responsblities. It also informed me the many ways to use a product from nature and find many uses of it. It was a very useful book with alot of information that could be helpful and used in every day life. I shows how strong a friendship can grow even if at first you didn't like someone but showed you the true them and not just how people say and think they act. If someone would take their life for you so that you could live than I would call that a good almost best friend. I really Enjoyed this book and it was rather interesting.

Summary: The Cay
Review: The Cay is a very good book. It has action, drama, and comedy. Which makes it an all around good book. This book is about a young boy who lives on a island during World War II. The boys name is Phillip. He has a very close relationship with his father. They talk about everything together. His mother wants to leave the island and go to Virginia, where they came from. The only problem is that the island is surrounded by the German "U Boats", and no one can leave the island. People have atempted to leave, but they have been shot down by the submarines in the water. After a while, the subs leave and his mother talks to his father and they decide that whats best for the son and mother is to leave and go to Virginia. So they leave on a ship and one day, it gets hit by a torpeado in the water from a submarine. The ship sinks, but luckily, the boat has small emergency boats just incase something like this happens. So the boy and his mom survive. But the boy gets hit by a piece of wood form somewhere and that knocks him overboard. Then, when he wakes up, he is in a raft with a big blacke man named Timothy, and a black cat called Stew Cat. Timothey is seventy years old. He stays on the raft for a long time, with very little food and water supply. The sun is very bright out on the water. Timothy tells they young boy, he calls him young boss, not to look at the sun or at the glare of it for tool long because it would hurt his eyes. The young boy doesn't listen to him and one day he wakes up blind. He is blind for most of the time on the raft. One day, they see land, it is a small island. They take the raft over there and they decide to wait on the island until a ship or plane comes over them and then they will be rescued. Timothy is trying to teahc Phillip how to use his other senses to make it because Timothy knows that he wont always be there to help him. One day, Timothy realizes that a storm is coming and that they neeed to prepare for it. So they get all of their stuff up safe and can only wait fro the storm to hit. One night, the storm hits and they have rope tied around a palm tree and they put their hands in it and just hang on. Timothy uses his body as a sheild for Phillip. When the storm is over, Timohty is badly wounded, his back is all cut up and is really hurt. Phillip wakes him up and asks him how he is. He said that he was tired and wanted to sleep. So Phillip lets him sleep. When he goes to wake him up, Timothy is dead. Now Phillip has to survive on his own. He gets all the stuff he dcan find and puts it in a place so if he ever hears a plane, all he has to do is light the fire. Then the plane will see him and rescue him. One day, he hears a plane coming from the east side. He lights the fire and the plane doesn't rescue him, instead, the plane flies away. The next day, a ship comes along and rescues him and Stew Cat. The boy finds his parents and they go back to live on the island that they were on before him and his mom left it.

Summary: The Cay **AWESOME BOOK**
Review: I loved this book! This book all started out on a little island off the coast of Venezuela, name Curacao. 11 year old Phillip and his family were transferred there because of his dad's job. Suddenly a war broke out and Phillips mother did not think that it was safe to stay in Curacao, so she decided to take Phillip with her and then meet up with her husband after the war was over. On the way back to Virginia, where they were originally from, the ship was torpedoed. Suddenly a kind gentlemen pulled Phillip on the raft, but unfortunetly, was not able to get his mother. It turns out that the kind man's name was Timothy and he was very nice to Phillip. Timothy and Phillip end up being stranded on their little raft for several days, until finally they spotted land. Phillip was a little hesitant at first, but he decided to go ahead and step foot on this mysterious island. **Will they survive, or will death be promised ashore this beautiful island.?***

Summary: Dis be an outrageous good book.
Review: My sons and I enjoyed this book as a read aloud. I didn't know how to pronounce many of the proper nouns but did the best I could. The failing, however, was with me not the book. This book taught many moral lessons including hard work, perserverance, sacrifice, independence, and not feeling sorry for one's self. I hope my sons are better for having been exposed to the examples of Timothy and Phillip.
