Summary: A really great book
Review: My teacher used this book as out last novel study book in our final term. I read ahead and enjoyed this book. This story is also good for teaching people about prejudice.

Review: This book is a great book.Whenever you want to put the book down you can't.The adventure really started when Phillip went on the ship with his mother and then the ship stops somewhere in the middle of the sea and a topedo hit it and it sank.A black strong old man found Phillip drownding in the water and then he saved him.When they got on the hot island the old man ,Timothy, saw that something from the ship fell on Phillips head and cracked it.Now Phillip is blind and he can't see.How will Phillip survive when hes blind and hes stuck with a black man?You have to read the book to find out.

Summary: THE BEST BOOK EVER!
Review: It is about a young boy named Phillip, an old man named Timothy, and a cat named Stew Cat. They all get stranded on a cay. They got stranded on it because Phillip was supposed to go to Virginia with his mother, they go on a ship and the ship stops somewhere. There is a torpedo, Phillip gets hurt and falls asleep. Timothy finds Phillip, they get on a raft to go somewhere and Phillip falls into the water. Timothy gets into the water and saves Phillip. Later they get on a cay, later Timothy lets the raft go.A ship comes and one of the men on the ship asks if there was anyone else and Phillip says, "no." I love this book.

Summary: The Island of Danger
Review: I thought this book was interesting because the people work as a team which are Timothy and Phillip. The favorite part I liked was when the readers thought he was killed but it was just a carving of Stew Cat. It's a moving and thrilling adventure because Phillip got blind and now he has to live a different life. They try to struggle for life, and they try to call for help. How they all got their is that they had a ship wreck and they landed up on the Caribbean Island. I have enjoyed so much as a 6th grader and you will too!

Summary: Review of The Cay
Review: The Cay tells the story of a boy named Phillip and his unsuspecting friendship with a black man, Timothy. The war and the German submarines have come to Phillip's part of the Caribbean, and Phillip's mother fears for their safety. Phillip's dad must stay behind for his job, but Phillip and his mother board a ship that will take them back to Virginia where they originally lived. Two days after being on the ship, the ship is torpedoed and during the evacuation, Phillip is separated from his mother. Phillip awakens to find himself on a raft with Timothy and a cat named Stew Cat. The three castaways finally reach a small cay where they must learn to live off the land in order to survive while they hope to be rescued. There are many conflicts in this book that the main characters must overcome. This book is not only a great survival story, but a touching story about overcoming prejudices and seeing a person for whom they really are.

Summary: The Best Book
Review: If you haven't read this yet, read it. Prejudiced Phillip ends up stranded with a giant, elderly, African-American, first on a raft, and then for a very long time on one of the Florida Cays. But he is horrified even past what the big ugly man causes, when he finds that he can't see anymore, a thump on the head after the ship Phillip, his mother, and Timothy were on was torpedoed causes Phillip to go blind. After many months on the empty cay, Phillip begins to love Timothy, and learn how to surrive with his blindness. But then tragedy strikes-I cried and cried and cried. The end makes everything a good deal better, but you'll find yourself comparing how sad things are to this book. This is a must-read!!

Review: Over all the Cay was a good book. It had some draging parts in the story,but a good message. Thye message was team work and treating people with the upmost respect, despite your differances. Someday you may need that persons help, and in a bad situation differsncs don't matter.

Summary: The Cay Review
Review: The story that I read was the Cay. The author of the Cay is Theodore Taylor. I think he is a very good author. He has written other various books like Battle In The English Channel and The Battle Off Midway Island.The Cay takes place in the 1940's when World War II takes place. Phillip (the main character) lives in Willemstad on the coast of the Carribean. His mom and himself get on a boat to move away because of the war, but while on the ship they get hit by a missle by the Germans. So then Phillip is separated from his mom and gets hit on the heard. When he wakes up he is on a battle boat with a guy names Timothy and a cat. The story is about how they survive. I didn't like the book that much because it's not they type of book I like to read.

Review: I read the book called The Cay. I gave it four stars because it was fun and exciting. It was about this boy and his mom who were on an island and there was a war, so they decided to leave.
