Rating: Summary: Deep and honest about a boy on the run who made it Review: Very deep, and honest about a desperate teenage boy on the run who made it. I liked this book because it was very truthful. It relates to a lot of kids and people of todays world. It reaches out to children who want and need help suffering from depression, low self esteem etc... And Sammy gives the motivation to want to do so. I recommend this book more to those chidren who can relate to Sammy. Because we see what and where he's coming from. And those who do not, don't understand what we, and Sammy go through, so it probably wouldn't be the right book for them to read. But for those who do know I recommend this great, nakedly-can-do-book.
Rating: Summary: Almost Lost Review: Well , I was sort of dissapointed with this book. I expected it to be a book about a kid on the streets not about a kid suffering through depression. He got through his depression way TOO fast. Even though I know that these sessions were once a week it just seemed he went from being suicidal to being happy way too fast. The whole have to be happy to be a good person just bothered me. I guess I expected too much from this book. Even though I didn't like it too well I would recommend it to others. It has some good tips about how to deal with unhappiness.
Rating: Summary: too unrealistic Review: When I first saw this book at Border's I thought it looked really interesting. I mean I can relate to the whole suicidal thing and depression. But as I read it, I was amazed at how fake and how unrealistic it was! People don't just get over it the way he did. I've been going to a psychiatrist for many years and I know nobody doesn't get over their problems that quickly. This book was WAY TOOO UNREALISTIC!!!!
Rating: Summary: WOW Review: When I first started the book, I thought it was boring, but I was determined to finish it. As I got through it...it became so interesting that I couldn't put it down. The only part that was kind of cheesy was how fast Sammy forgave his father. It happened a little too suddenly. But after I was done....I wanted to read it all over again. I can't wait to read Dr. Spark's other books. I recommend this book to everyone, young and old.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't STOP! Review: When I first started this book, I thought it was pretty boring, but was determined to finish it. It got so very interesting as I got through it. Dr. Sparks is a really cool author and even though this is the first book I have read of hers, I know I will check out her other books. Sammy seemed like a true to life character at the beginning. The ending was kind of cheesy...because he forgives his father oh so suddenly...hmm...but other than that I thought I was one of the greatest books! Sammy is someone I greatly admire and I'm sure if you check out this book....you'll totally agree.
Rating: Summary: VERY GOOD. *clap* Review: When I picked this book up and started to read it...I thought it was pretty boring. But I was determined to finish it. Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. Dr. Sparks is amazing and the way she writes this book makes you feel like you're actually Sammy. I loved it. The only part I thought to be cheesy was the ending. Sammy forgave his father too fast....that really surprised me after all the things he had said to him. But over all it was an exceptional book.
