Summary: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle...a great book
Review: I first read "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" by Avi when I was in 6th grade. Even then I was completely enraptured by the characters of Charlotte, Zachariah, and Captain Jaggery. I still love reading it from time to time. It's a great story filled with adventure and suspense that can please all ages. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Review: "Not every thirteen-year-old girl is accused of murder, brought to trial, and found guilty..."
At thirteen, Charlotte Doyle is sure of her place in the world as a proper young lady. But unexpected circumstances have a way of changing a girl's perspective.
The only passenger on a long ocean crossing, Charlotte finds herself tangled up in mutiny, intrigue, and the scheming of a ruthless captain. Unsure who to trust, she wavers between sides, makes mistakes, does her best to make amends, and finally ends up joining the crew, only to end up in more trouble than she ever could have imagined possible.
Although certain plot elements are less than completely credible, the story's fast pace leaves the reader with no time to care. It appears that a great deal of research went into creating as accurate a portrayal as possible of life on a ship (with fairly detailed explanatory notes at the back for landlubbers).
An exciting story about a girl who has to prove herself, in one way or another, at every turn, this book has been a favourite of mine since I first read it at the age of ten.

Summary: Are they True Confessions?
Review: The story takes place in 1832. Charlotte Doyle is a 13 year old girl traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, from England to America, without her parents. The story starts off with an important warning that warns readers to beware of strong ideas and actions. This was a time in life that girls were expected to act as respectful ladies. This book forshadows several things. Why is a 13 year old girl traveling so far away from home without her parents. Will Charlotte Doyle remain the person she once was, a ladylike girl from a respectful family. Will you ever know the truth? What are the true confessions of Charlotte Doyle.

Summary: Best book by Avi
Review: This book was a great read. It definetly held my attention. The best part was the suspense in the book. It kept me trying to guess what would happen next. I was disapointed when I finished it because I wished it was longer. If you want to read this book, you should. It is worth it.
