Summary: Great Book
Review: This is a great book for young girls. I read it ten years ago and I still regard it as one of my favorite books. I never write recommendations, but this book is the exception. Charlotte is a well rounded character who goes on an incredible journey that ultimately changes her life. This is an excellent story that involves danger, intrigue, and Charlotte's voyage to self-discovery. A must read!

Summary: Unexpectedly GREAT
Review: At first when my teacher passed out the books; I groaned in agony. It looked so boring and the plot sounded so [bad]. But after I read the 4th chapter I sank into her world. I understood her emotions. The middle was exciting how she took a HUGE turn in what she was doing and decided to become part of the crew. She battled hurricanes, and did exactly what all the other men did. But in the storm there was a murder and she was acussed of it becuase the man was murdered with a dirk she owned. From there on, it's a suspense i shall not spoil for you!

Summary: Sailing a Vicious Sea
Review: A Review by Natasha
This book is about a young girl that has to sail from England to America to meet her family. Her parent wanted her to finish out her schooling for the year, so she was sent to America alone. She changes a lot along the way.

In the beginning I didn't like the book. It had a very slow start and Charlotte seemed like a very spoiled, privileged young lady who would not be filled with a lot of adventure. Things definitely changed towards the middle of the story.

Charlotte was tried for a murder. I really began to like Charlotte once I got into the book. She developed into a very independent young woman. For example, she began to help out around the ship, and being the only girl it was not the easiest thing to do. Some parts of this book were very sad. When Charlotte's best friend on the ship was killed, it was very dramatic for her.

The plot went along at a good speed. The book climaxed at the end of the book. All of the details helped to paint a great picture in my head. For instance, during the storm it was explained very well. From how the rain was falling to what the characters were doing.
You might think that in some parts it is dragging but as the action picks up you won't want to put it down. I defiantly recommend this to anybody.

Summary: I love this book!
Review: I would strongly recommend this book to my friends. I think this book is excellent and exciting. I am intrigued by everything that happened. It makes me feel relieved at the end of the day after reading this book. I know the mai character Charlotte Doyle had overcome all the difficulties and she was safe back home. However, she always thought about the ship Seahawk and the crew as her friends at home. It makes me feel interested in such exciting adventures. If the story happened to me, I would be as brave as Miss Charlotte Doyle. However, I would ot tell the captain that the crew wanted to kill him as Miss Charlotte Doyle did. (...) Moreover, I would not be hatred by the captain and everything would be perfect. Although I love adventure, I would not exchange it with casualties.

Summary: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
Review: We thoroughly enjoyed this book. It captivates you from the very beginning. This book uses great imagery and descriptive language. We felt that the book made us feel as if we were on the ship with Charlotte. Every aspect of that book reached out to us. We feel that this would be a great book to use in the classroom. The descriptive language is wonderful and would be an excellent example to use when teaching this concept. We feel that this book would be beneficial for 5-7th Grade. Once again we really enjoyed reading this book.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I am in 7th grade and I had to read this book for school. Though I am an dedicated fantasy reader, I still loved this book. It was the first book that I had ever liked that was assigned reading from school. It makes you feel like you're on the ship and is a great story.
