Summary: I love this book!
Review: This book is about a girl named Charolette Doyle who gets on a ship and has many adventures. At first she is very uncofortable but she finds very interesting ways to feel at home. The captin of the boat is very mean and assigns to much work. He intimidates Charolette and she finds out many secrets of the ship. I was not able to put this book down. I would recomend this book to twelve year olds and older. You will wish there is a second book.

Summary: A Book With a Meaning
Review: I was to read The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle for my Language Arts class. I found that I could actually get into it. The book is about a snobby girl from Providence, Rhode Island who is to take a voyage on her own back to Rhode Island from England. She creates relationships with the "Lower-Class" after the Captain betrays her. She finally realizes that it does not matter from what social background you come. Just because you have more money than someone and are more "civilized" then them, it does not mean you are a better person. This is a lesson Charlotte Doyle must learn the hard way...

Summary: Still a favourite!
Review: Even though I am now nearly twenty years old, this book still remains a favourite of mine. Not only is the book a thrilling tale, but it is also unique in plot. On the surface, "Charlott Doyle" is simply a riveting tale of a young girl caught in a desperate position at sea; underneath, the story contains mature themes that even adults will enjoy.

Summary: A review for a good book
Review: It is a very nicely plotted and written book, told with detail and with not a single dull page. Avi's 'True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle' propels you into an incredible trip on the sea. The story flews very easily to be understood. It is a very delightful light reading. I personally liked it very much, and I really liked Avi's style of using 'I' in the story. When I began to read the story I thought that it was written by the protagonist, Charlotte herself. He makes it sound like he is the protagonist. He really gets into the stories he writes, and this must be probably one of the bests.

Summary: This Book Was Sooooooo...........
Review: Dumb! In my opinion. I'm so sorry to all of you people out their who may have liked, even enjoyed this book, but I have to say this book was a copmplete waste of my time. I had to read this in school to do a book project and I had to suffer for what seemed like 50 years!

I do like the author Avi though. He writes good, but this book did not capture me like some of his others.

Again I am sorry to say that I hated this book.(&_&)

Summary: Feeling a little uncomfortable????
Review: Charlotte Doyle is trapped on a ship called the Seahawk, with 9 men by her side she is very unconfortable. She learns how to toughen up and take her bad and try to see the good. With help from her new friend Zachariah. At the bad side of the captain, he is not taking care of her in any way. This book is not a appropriate for immature minds. Too much violence and vulgar language and action. Other than that this is a great book!!!!!!!

Summary: Finding Yourself in the Alantic
Review: Charlotte Doyle is a young lady of 13 in the year of 1832. She has been brought up to be proper and is determined to maintain her learnings and prove them to all, but her nobility is about to be tested. Charlotte Doyle has been living in Liverpool, England for the last 7 years and is to embark on a sea voyage to Providence, Road Island, her birthplace. She is to travel on the gallant ship the Seahawk owned by he father's company under the command of Captain Jaggery. Captain Jaggery is of course a gentleman with fine clothes and a respect for "the finer" things in life; Charlotte instantly befriends the Captain. But before the voyage has gone on long a friendly black cook named Zechariah tells Miss Doyle that a horrible thing is to take place. Charlotte is soon to find the Captain's real side is much different than expected as well as to find her true "proper" self.

"The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" is an excellent read. It uses the realizations of today with the harsh truths of yesterday in a wonderful blend of sea air and a teenage girl. You find yourself bonded to Charlotte through the whole book like she is a part of you. When she accomplishes something you accomplish something. At the beginning even though you know something big is going to go down you will never be able to comprehend what will happen to this young lady of class on her 2-month journey across the Atlantic. "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" is a must read for young adults looking for some spark from the past!
