Summary: Stick to It!
Review: The True Confessions Of Charlotte Doyle. That book by the front cover looks boring. If I saw it in the library I would never pick it up. But it was for ... 6th grade reading class. So when she handed out the books mostly everybody (well except for 2 or 3 people who enjoy books that look like this) groaned and was probably thinking: "what type of book is this?" But anywayz as we suffered through the beginning it started to get intresting. So my advice to you is to keep reading it then you'll get to the part where you'll not want to put it down. ...

Summary: A Good Yarn
Review: This story is very exciting with a strong, interesting plot. I enjoyed reading it, especially the part where Charlotte climbs to the highest point of the ship. The description was good and although to begin with Charlotte is very naive, it gives one a feeling of superiority to feel that we know more than she does. And the ending is extremely satisfying.

Summary: Okay, but Charlotte was so naive!
Review: I enjoyed this book . . . sort of. It had a plot that kept me on the edge of my seat. But I have a few points to make. Charlotte Doyle is a teenaged girl who is joining her parents in America, and is the only female passenger. (I would like to comment that it really doesn't make sense to me that her parents didn't wait for her to finish school before they left. And why didn't they care that the two younger kids were missing school, but they did care that Charlotte would be if they pulled her out to go to America?) That night, she hears Keetch and the captain discussing how Keetch had to put on a show about not wanting her, and the captain was saying that she would be the perfect witness. Here is the first example of how naive and stupid Charlotte is. Later on, she actually trusts Keetch, even after hearing that conversation! He was informer for Captain Jaggery, and the idiot didn't even realize. She ignores Zachariah's warnings, even though those two boys had dropped her suitcase and run before she went on the ship. (Naive, naive, naive.)And when Zachariah is killed, or so she thinks, she is less upset about that than she is about accidently whipping Captain Jaggery. In fact, the book never really seems to focus on his death at all. She does offer to be a crew member to make it up for him, but she wasn't really all that upset about Zachariah. She's just upset because they all hate her. And by the way, she was really stupid to have told Captain Jaggery about their rebellion in the first place. She was just floating above the ground because Captain Jaggery liked her, never considering that her friends, the crew, had warned her about him, plus he has hidden muskets, which is not exactly a mark of a friendly, kind, gentle man. So this book is all right, but don't read it if you're finicky about the details of character personalities and realism.

Summary: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
Review: This book is great for all ages. The book keeps kids interested in the book for quite a long time. This book is about a girl who join a pirate ship and has to reach certain objectives to be a part of the group. The captain makes Charlotte climb a ladder to become a pirate. She finally makes it to the top of the ladder, and found out that she can't climb down. This book influenced me by reading it in 6th grade with my teacher Mr. Alfred Jaeger. After the voyage, she comes home and goes into her library and... You'll have to find out what happens once you read the book; The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.

WARNING:This book is HARSH for little children.

Summary: The Greatest Story Ever Told...
Review: I was cheaply disappointed that this wasn't about pirates, but what can you do? Sailors freak me out, but in this story I actually kinda enjoyed reading about them. Charlotte is the greatest character! She was so brave in the story. This is the best book for girls to read. It shows that you can do anything you want, even though it's impossible. The author writes really good, but I think he should have picked a better year to write about, like 1720 or something. Also it didn't have a very good beginning and I almost stopped reading it. I mean who starts out saying, "Just before dusk on June 16, 1832..."? He should have said, "The wind blew fiercely across the ocean, as I stood there on the docks of Liverpool, England..." Anyway, this book still remains my most favorite book ever. But a couple more things wrong with it: Charlotte appeared dumb at times, not figuring out the obvious, she didn't act very proper and rich, even from the beginning, she should have had lots of passengers on board with her, a nice cabin and maybe even someone like an aunt. But that's just my opinion...

P.S.

(Yes, it could be possible to join the crew even with others aboard.)

Summary: An Amazing Book...
Review: An amazing book about a girl on the high seas. This is such a page turner! I found this book in a book store and wanted to get it because I thought it be about pirates, set back in the 18th century. Unfortunly, for me, it was set in 1832, and Charlotte became a sailor, instead of a pirate. Although I am not interested in sailors, I still found the book interesting enough. It is now my favorite. I love the plot and the story of it, although it's kinda sad at times. I really like how it ended, but I won't go into to that in case you ever read it. I recommend this book to everyone, but mostly young girls, because it shows that you can do anything you want!
