Summary: A Good Children's Book!!!
Review: I would consider The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle a great read because it is suspenseful for a main reason & it is a very descriptive novel that's really an enjoyable read.I would more likely recommend it for middle school age kids though because I was that age the first time I read it & I enjoyed it more then than I did reading it now years later. It deserved the 4 stars because it really is a good book & it did win many awards & it's a really good novel for young adults that you won't wanna put down.I read it in one day & I'd call it one of my favorite books.

Summary: Springboard for discussion with your teen
Review: I am the Mom of a pre-teen who bought this book based on its many recommendations. The story delivered everything as promised;adventure, intrigue, historical references and a strong female protaganist. However, I can't imagine letting a child read this book without some kind of adult discussing it with them during or after. Charlotte, (the main character) makes some powerful changes in her character for a 13 year old living under the social rules of 1830. Who are her real friends? Are her parents the enemy? Is the ending plausible either in 1830 or in today? What do we learn both as parents and as children from Charlotte through the ways she changes. I don't want to give away the ending since the story keeps you furiously turning pages through the end. This is a fabulous adventure but needs to be tempered with discussion.

Summary: Mutiny on the High Seas
Review: This wonderful story takes place in 1832. Charlotte, the main character, is thirteen years old. She is brave, proper, honest, and curious. Other characters that contribute to this novel are Captain Jaggery and Zachariah. Captain Jaggery is a cruel person, but known for quick and profitable journeys. Zachariah is a old man who is kind, helpful, and stands up for what he believes in. Charlotte boards a ship from England that is heading to America. One of the crew members, Zachariah, tries to tell Miss Doyle that the captain is no good. She doesn't listen. When the captain kills a stowaway, Charlotte realizes he is bad news. She becomes part of the crew. If you want to find out more about the events that follow, read this excellent book.

Summary: "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle"
Review: "The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle" is one of my favorite books. Charlotte, a proper young lady of rigid upbringing, finds herself in a dangerous game between a cruel, ruthless captain, and his vengeful crew. This book is wonderful for anyone who enjoys mystery, suspense, and adventure! Charlotte, the main character, narrates her transformation from a shy, haughty, girl, into a confident, unprejudice young adult. Her transformation is truly amazing, and her story will leave one begging for more! I highly recommend this novel!

Summary: I read this book over and over, and it never gets old.
Review: Charlotte Doyle is one of my favorite characters in Children's lit. I first read this book in a time where most of the books I read were about young boys and their problems. This one actually dealt with some issues I faced daily. Avi is wonderful and pulls along the story. His writing is good at keeping anyone interested, even those who usually would rather watch the movie than spend time looking at a page with words and no pictures or sound. A great pick for any preteen daughter.

Summary: Charlotte's True Confessions Make This An Outstanding Book!
Review: For Summer 2001 my teacher asigned us to read two books. One of them was "Doyle". At first the book went slow, then became a wonderfull work of art. Avi's writing blew me away with the surprising twist and suspensful moments. Avi wrote also in great detail. She truely makes you feel as if you are on the ship, the Seahawk, too! Her knowledge of the ship really made me excitied to read on! She gave the story in a very great detail so wonderful, I would read it again.! This book is like a "Perfect Storm" book for kids because it also has a great detailed scene of a storm so fierce it has some one killed, not thrown overboard but murder!!! At times it has a very scary part and then it'll leave you hanging for more!!!! "Doyle" is one outstanding book. If your really into Mutiny on the High Sea's during the time period of say.....1700's-1800's, then "Doyle" is a book you should buy!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An oustanding book.
Review: This is one of the favorite books by far. I have read it three times and each time I was so wrapped up in it i could not put it down. Avi's description of the characters and settings are excellent; it made me feel like I was actually there with them. The plot twists are shocking and add so much interest to the novel. I highly recomend this book to anyone.

Summary: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle - An Excellent Book
Review: This was an excellent book. As soon as I started reading it, I was whisked into the intriguing plot. I just couldn't put the book down! It seemed like is was a book about another girl's diary (which are boring to me) when I picked it up, but it wasn't when i started reading it. I would recommend that the next book you read be The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.

Summary: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle
Review: The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle was a spirited adventure book. Charlotte Doyle is a thirteen year old girl who was always lavished and pampered by her parents. Charlotte was in England for seven years and was going back to her home in Rhode Island to be with her parents. She was travelling on a ship named the Seahawk. When she boarded, she saw grimy and odd looking sailors, a fledgling firstmate, and a hospitable captain with a morbid past. Charlotte becomes a vital bystander in a crime and also was the prime suspect of a homicide. I think this book is well written and I am amazed at how an adult male can narrate a story from a thirteen year old girls' point of view.
