Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: In the beginning of The Legend of Luke, Martin the Warrior, Gonff Prince of Mousethieves, Dinny Foremole, and Trimp the Hedgehog travel to the Northland Cliffs in search of anything that would help Martin discover what happened to his father, Luke. Along the way they find many friends and foes, including an otter named Folgrim, the Guosim Shrews, a tribe of Dunehogs (Hedgehogs), a small squirrel named Chugger, and a funny group of vermin lead by a fox. After Martin finds members of his fathers old crew, the story really begins. Vilu Daskar has just smashed Luke's tribe on the Cliffs, and has killed Luke's wife, Sayna. Luke vows to get revenge, and to settle the score with his arch enemie, Vilu. Luke evenually gets his paws on a ship, and with a small crew, takes off after Vilu and his slaveship, the Goreleech. To make a long and great story short, Vilu Daskar and his vermin die, unfortunatly, as does Luke. But knowing that his father was ever the warrior, and that he stood true to his promise and got revenge, Martin travels home to Redwall with a great weight lifted from his shoulders. The Legend of Luke really deserves more than 5 stars, and is the best Redwall book (in my humble oppinion). Brian Jacques really is a great writer, and deserving of every bit of praise that he gets.
Rating: Summary: This is a Great book! Review: As I picked up this book, I was slightly apprehensive that it might not be as good as the rest, which I've all read, but I soon realized that it matched up to most, if not all the others, and by the time I'd finished, it was among my favourites in the series. It fills in the gaps, and answers the questions about Luke, Martin's father. This is a very good book, and I highly recommend reading it. You won't be dissapointed. Redwaaaaaaallllllll!
Rating: Summary: LUKE RULES! Review: I think it was an O.K. book overall but bookII was kindanice. Sad but nice.
Rating: Summary: A cunning new novel Review: This newest book by Jaques really blew my sox off. The epic tale of Martin the warriorlooking for his father (Luke) is a really nice topic. Going back to Martins birth place was great. I like how this story was going on during the construction of Redwall Abbey. I really recommend this book to new readers.
Rating: Summary: A wonderfull addition to the redwall series Review: This is definantly a winner! Me, having read all of the series two or three times, thinks this book is a great book. I love all the characters and the way Brian Jaques describes them. This book should be on any redwall fans shelf.
Rating: Summary: THE LEGEND OF LUKE Review: I think that "The legend of Luke" is an excellent story. Martin did lots of brave things.
Rating: Summary: Amazing work, once more a great sequel! Review: This book is truly a marvel and a highlight of all Brian's stories. Not just a book for young adults, I, a minor Russian novel publisher, enjoyed this grand yarn and once again unravelled in a wonderful story by Mr. Jacques. Brian is a highlight in the list of my top young adult type books, but that doesn't mean it's not for adults! And now with this wonderfully woven composure his placement is helped by the tale of Martin, Gonff, Trimp, Chugger, Luke and many friends. This story of companionship and adventure is a tale I will recommend to all with a definite liking for the written story. ˆThe Legend of Lukeˆ is a wondrous story that reveals Redwall history from the very beginning, and tells the lon awaited story of Martin's father, Luke the Warrior. With encounters by Flitchaye, otters, crows, swans and many other dangers, this book is definitely at least five out of five stars!
