Summary: Jacques does it again...
Review: Brian Jacques has created another Redwall masterpiece. Pulling away from the traditional "Peace, big war, mouth-watering feast" outline for most of his Redwall books, he details the history of Luke, Martin the Warrior's father. Gonff the Mousethief, Bella of Brockhall, a tribe of shrews, and the Dunehogs all aid Martin in his quest. The story of Luke, in particular, features wonderful writing. This book can be enjoyed by anyone, but it takes a true Abbeydweller to truly experiance this feast for the heart.

Summary: GREEEEEEEEEEAT
Review: I don't agree with some people about Legend of Luke. This was definetly a great book, and well worth the hardcover price. Brian truly has a gift, and uses it well. Though, some plots seem to be repeating in the books, they're still great. I would recommend Redwall, (#1), Mattimeo, and Martin the Warrior-- the three I liked best. Happy reading!

Summary: Legend of Luke
Review: This is probably the best Redwall book yet, the good guy doesn't mind killing bad guys and he doesn't use that old 'it was self-defense' bit, and the bad guy is a genteel, evil mastermind who doesn't lose his temper or make stupid mistakes like the ones in almost every other book. Also, it follows the good-guys, so you don't know what the bad guys are planning every single minute.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: This is my second favorite Redwall book. I have read every one and i HIGHLY recommend this one. Martin the Warrior is my favorite though. This book was great and i love the characters. I think Ranguvaar the squrril was great. Luke was awesome though it was sad at the end. I like how it was split into 3 books because you need to know how Martin knows all those things about his father that Beau the hare told him. So it tells yooou his quest to find his father and his birthplace. He finds Beau and the hare tells him the story of his father. This was a wonderful book. If you see it in a store buy it!

Summary: AWESOME MUST BUY BOOK
Review: This is an extremley good book. I recommend it to any redwall fan. I like it espicially 'cause it is the only book with a battle between good and bad on a ship. It starts of at Redwall. A young hedgehog maid starts singing a song about Luke while they are constructing the Abbey. Martin hears it and sets of on a quest with the Hedgehog maid (called Trimp the Wanderer) Gonnf and Dinny. On the way they meet a little squirrel caught by the Flitchaye. They save him and he follows them on their Quest. They meet tons of new friends on the way. When they arrive at the caves of Luke's tribe, an old mouse which helped Luke when he left on a ship after the Sea Rouges that killed Martins mother meet them and take them to half a ship slammed between two high rocks on and Island. The mouse takes them up to the ship and there him and some other crew members tell them the story of Luke. I don't wanna give anything else away. BUY THIS BOOK! :) :) :) :)

Summary: I love Redawall but...
Review: I have loved the Redwall series since I first read Redwall when it came out. Since then, I have been an avid reader of them and have never really been so disapointed with story as I was with The Legend of Luke. Since The Legend of Luke was to have Martin the Warrior, my all-time favorite character from his book, Martin the Warrior (which by the way, is the best book of the series, I highly reccomend you check it out.) I had high expectations for Legend as well. Unfortunatly, as the story is told in three parts, only one of them is actualy about Luke. The beginning and end parts are fairly predictable journeys with little to keep anyone interested. Jaques did however add cute little tie-ins to almost all his stories. So herin lies my review. I would most definetly have given Legend a much higher score if only it were really about Luke. I am of the opinion that it should have been made into two books, one about Luke's adventures and one more about Martin's instead of splicing them together into something the lacked the character development as seen in other books of the same series. Character is the most important part to me, and since when Martin arrives at the Northland Caves, he meets all the suviving crew members who went with his father to battle the newest evil villian, Vilu Daskar. The only problem with this little setup, is by having Martin meet the SURVIVING crew, the reader knows who will live and who will not. That sort of ruins the only good part of the book, because it is hard to get any feeling for completly new characters half of who are going to live anyway. I don't reccomend this book in hardcover, only to save some money. I never would advise against buying a Redwall book, but this is one of the ones that can wait until paperback while a fresher, and hopefully better one is coming out in hardcover.

Summary: A Timeless Series
Review: A great fan of the Redwall seires, I relish the comming each new book and read them over and over again. Having read all the books in this classic series and thoroughly enjoying each one, I find that all the books seem to fit together, as a true author would write them to be. When I first started reading them, I thought that the sequence of these weren't relevant, so if you're curious about what happened to Martin, Gonff and the rest of those famous characters, read this book! And if you just want a taste of true Redwall style, this would be the place to start!

Summary: Breathtaking but Odd
Review: I think this is an odd book. I expect that Martin and Luke will meet at the end and destroy Vilu Daskar's horde together, but Brian ended the story in such sadness. The another thing that is odd is that I thought the tapestry depicted out Martin the Warrior, the founder of Redwall, this was explained in Mariel of Redwall. But in Legend of Luke, the tapestry depicted out Martin the Warrior's grandsire, who was also named Martin. This book disrupted the entire chain of the former eleven Redwall books, weaved by Brian Jacques in a decade. This book made the Redwall Series seem less well-written. It was not a great success. Nonetheless, the strong character of Luke, the gallant figure of Martin, and the comic profile of Gonff made this story a bit more special and unique. Thus it got a four-star rating.

Summary: Still going strong
Review: It's been three years since I read my first redwall book, salamandastron, and since then I havn't been able to get enough redwall. In the overall collection, this book stands up well against the others. It starts rather strong, with great action that kept me glued to the pages. The ending, though, left a bit to be desired. It just took too long to wrap up and I lost interest. However, if you're looking for a good yarn to curl up with on a lazy suday afternoon, this is definately a book to look at.

Summary: Brian Jacques (LOL)
Review: Based on the previous books written by Mr. Jacques, this fares well in the hiarchy of quality. With the description and use of unrealistic speech, Such as the "rustic molespeech." When you are reading these outgoing tales of "Redwall," you are Matin the Warior or charming Gonff Prince of Mouse Theives. You're not just there, you are!

My first need biological, is REDWALL!.
