It is basically the same as anne frank or any other biography from the Holocaust. It isn't horrible but it doesn't make you want to not stop.

She brings them to me. It is clearly one of the best books I have ever read. If you need to do a book report, this is clearly one to do it on. She takes you through the hole war as if it was her diary. She explains what each German word means.I like the timeline in the back of the book. It is sad though to think that she lost everyone in her family except for her brother and mother. I'm glad that I read it. She should get a honor for this book.

Now she lives and writes to tell about her real life story. This book gives you a lot of history and makes you feel like you are actually there. The setting and plot create a whole New World for you. This is very exciting and has many interesting facts. It is about a girl who gets split up from her family and goes to a concentration camp in Germany during World War Two. Find out how she lives through all the torture, pain, suffering, and see if she gets home by reading it. I recommend reading this book for either boys or girls.(I am really 14, but the numbers did not go past 12.)
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An Excellent Book to Introduce Youth to the Holocaust Review: This novel is an in-depth presesnt-tense documentation of Elli's life during the turmultuous times of the Holocaust. While this novel goes into detail about the trials and tribulations she underwent, including difficult labor, many close calls with death, and loss of family and friends, it does not offer forth some of the more frightening and adult concepts that other Holocaust novels, such as Isabella and Rena's Promise offer. This one is more children-appropriate. Mind you, this novel does not skimp on graphic images, especially in any scene involving meals or violence against Elli and her mother. It also doesn't candy-coat the Holocaust and life in the concentration camps- rather, far from candy-coating, it presents the reality that existed. It may frighten readers younger than 10 or so, if they do not have the comfort of their parents to explain what is happening. All in all, this novel is an excellent depiction of the concentration camps, and it teaches morals about survival, family loyalty, good versus evil, and multiple other issues.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I Have Lived A Thousand Years Review: This book is about a 14-year-old girl growing up in the holocaust. She is seperated from her brother Bubi, her father, and her Aunt Cecilia. Her mother and she are sent to Auschwitz, where they are stripped of their identity and worked to the bone. After about three weeks Elli and her mother were taken from Auschwitz to Plaszow. Only three weeks after their arrival they were taken back to the worst destiny, Auschwitz. Elli and her mother were tatooed with identification numbers and prepared for selection. This book seemed to bring reality to sight. The book was gory at some points, but for the most part was completely appropriate for all ages. I would reccommend this book to any one who want to learn about history without the real people.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: review on I have live a thousand years Review: I Have Live a Thousand Years: Growing Up in the Holocaust is by Liva Bitton-Jackson. It is a biography about Elli L Friedmann when she was thirteen years old. It was during the Holocaust when the Nazis took over. She and her family are put in concentration camp and they are there for almost a year. The only survivors in her family were her mother, brother, and herself. They were all badly injured in the concentration camp but they all kept on believing and survived all the cruelty and hardships. They didn't do anything to deserve all this cruelty. Everything got taken away she had to leave everyone behind including her friends and all of her prized possessions like, her book of poems and her brand new bike that she got on her birthday. I thought Elli was very brave and no matter what she always thought of the best just like her mother and the message of her story was "never to give up". That really helped her survive all the concentration camps and she didn't just think about her self, but always thought of other. Like when her mom was paralyzed she helped mother so she wouldn't be put in the gas chamber and when they got separated she risked her life to find her mom and help her get better. I think the author was trying to make you feel like you were part of the Holocaust during the book and it also told you how it felt to be in concentration camps. How the prisoners were treated and how they felt. You also understand what it is like to be Elli, mother, and brother and what they went through and she did a very good job in making you feel like you were part of the book. It kind of makes you appreciate life and what you have now. I thought this was a very inspiring book and it was a page-turner for me. It surprised me that most people thought positively even in the worst case. I learned so much from this book about what the concentration camps were. Most books on this topic don't really tell you about and they only tell about themselves and how they felt. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the Holocaust and read a great book.
