Summary: This book is better then Redwall!
Review: I would rate this book a five star book because it has a lot of action. This book is part of the Chronicles Of Pryden. It is a realy good book. I would recommend it for ages eight and over. The main characters are Gergi, Eilonwy, and Taren and some more you will have to read to find out. This book this book is wrtten by Lloyd Alexander. This book is set in Pryden. It makes a great novel for everybody.

Summary: Read this book!
Review: I read this book (along with the others in the series) many years ago. It was one of my favorite childhood books. In fact, if I had to pick the best one, this would be it. The plot was wonderful and the author really made me care about the characters. I think this book will appeal even to kids who do not like reading. So if you are a parent who would like your child to read more, this series would be a good bet.

Summary: A satisfying conclusion
Review: Some series end with a whimper -- but that is not the case for Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain. He ends with a revelation that would normally seem cliche (I won't give it away), but somehow it doesn't. In addition, the action is fast and moving. There are both literal and figurative battles; old characters reappear for the grand finale, and some lingering questions are answered. The character development is wonderful. Not only does Taran grow and develop; his companions, such as Coll and Fflewdur Fflam, truly become three dimensional. If you've read the first four books of this series, there's no reason to avoid _The High King_. And if you haven't read the entire series yet, you'll want to do that so you can fully enjoy the small details of this wonderful series conclusion.

Summary: The Greatest!
Review: I started reading these books in the summer after sixth grade, and am still rereading them five years later! Lloyd Alexander brings to us one of the best fantasy tales of all time, second only to JRR Tolkein's works. The characters are larger than life and you won't be able to put these books(specificly this one, The High King) down. If you like stories of courage, loyalty, epic battles, treachery, romance, magic, and the classic quest for manhood, you will relish these wonderful tales of Prydain

Summary: An all-time favorite
Review: When I was in the fifth grade (many, many years ago) I was introduced to the Chronicles of Prydain. And now still, whebn people ask me my favorite book, I answer "The High King." The language is simple enough for children, but the older you get, the more you appreciate the epic concepts and the characters. By the time I finish re-reading the series, and especially this book, Taran, Eilonwy and the gang are my best friends. It's so hard to close the book... and the ending still makes me joyful *and* crying every time.

Summary: Lloyd Alexander's Masterpiece
Review: In The High King, Lloyd Alexander concludes the wonderful Prydain Chronicles. The ending is a total surprise, but very moving. All these books are magnificent, and The High King truly brings out all the characters in a way that the reader always hoped they would. The sacrifice made by Fflewddur Fflam, one of my favorite characters, touched me deeply. This series is an absolute must for anyone who likes fantasy and legends.

Summary: My only regret was that the series ended.
Review: This series of five books is a true work of art. My favorite thing about the series is that it's appropriate for almost any age group. Younger children will understand the basics, but there are deeper meanings to many of the events and phrases that they won't grasp until they are older. A real 20th-century masterpiece! Lloyd Alexander's Prydain stories (all five of novels, plus the short stories about the realm) are among the greatest fantasy works of all time.

Summary: The greatest series ever written
Review: I read this series over five years ago, and I loved it entirely. An avid reader, I have read many books since then that have not only piqued my interest, but stimulated the fantasy side of my brain as well. Now in my junior year of high school, I still haven't found any reading material that has interested me and drawn me in as much as THE BOOK OF THREE. These books are, unequivocally, literary masterpieces.

Summary: Deserves more than 5 stars!
Review: I honestly think that this has to be one of the best books everwritten. I have read and reread this series over and over, but I stillcry every time I come to the ending of The High King. This book has so totally touched my life in ways I would not of thought a book could. Not since C.S. Lewis has a series caused me to think so much. Everyone should get a chance to visit Pyrdain at least once in thier life.
